Got the new Nexus 5 and found that flash video playing is totally incompatible with the Android 4.4 Kitkat, no t in Dolphin, not in Firefox and other browsers. This is too bad and I can't imagine it just happened.
I digged into the code since then and found that some critical APIs have been removed from Android 4.4 that flash uses. DAMN IT!

After several days of coding, I finally found a way out with a hacked flash player. Being so excited and i can't wait wo share it. Here is the guide about how to install the hacked one and how to play flash content in the sites in Dolphin Browser.
1) Download Dolphin Browser
Surprised, Dolphin just push a 10.2.0 update version to me and I found Dolphin Jetpack was built-in. This means you don't have to install 2 separate APK now. Cheers!!
Here is the Download Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser
Warning: [/B]You must have Dolphin Jetpack on in the settings to enjoy it. As far as I have noticed, Dolphin Jetpack better solves the compatibility with flash player, such as crash issue & freeze issue in full screen.
2) Download the hacked flash player HERE
Warning: Make sure that you have uninstall the flash player installed in your device and then install the hacked one for compatibility reason.
If your devices refused to install apk outside Google Play, you may set in your device (Settings> Securities> Unknown resources) to allow installation of apps from unknown sources.
3) Make sure that the flash setting in Dolphin Browser (Click Menu>Settings>Web Content>Flash Player) is on.
Flash Player is not officially supported and therefore the speed of loading of flash video may be slow. However, I have tried many sites such as YouTube and Hulu. They all work properly with satisfactory results.
Great thanks to @techfanatic9 for recording the video about How to Install Flash Player on Any Android KitKat Phone!
Here is the Video.
i would like to try, but does this only work with dolphin? i'd like to use with other browsers like aosp or maybe firefox.
working on my nexus 4. surprisingly found your link through the official dolphin faq

Excellent work, flash is back on my Nexus 4, Puffin has a terrible performance compared.
Has anyone tested this with Firefox? Is it Dolphin only?

It says it doesn't work on android 4.4 with Dolphin?
Works perfectly on my Nexus 7 2013 running KitKat, great work surviveland!
Works great with dolphin. I love my nexus 5 and flash. Dolphin with jetpack is extra good too. I found I had to put the setting to "always on" to get sound on one site. Thanks for getting round this problem. This is the power of android + xda developers.
Appears to be working on my Nexus 7 2013 (100% stock 4.4) as well
confirmed working on Nexus 10 stock KitKat, excellent work!
Working on i9505g kit Kat in ART.
You are heroic my friend!
Works on Nexus 5 Cataclysm ROM, Faux Kernel.
Your awesome.

Does Dolphin have ad blocking ability? Never used it but I need a browser that can block adds. Most of the flash I watch has adds popping up all the time so need them blocked.
Cheers.

I don't think Dolphin has ad blocking, but if you're rooted, you can install the AdAway app from f-droid. Scroll down and under "Version 2.8" you'll see the link to download the APK.
Thanks, works fine on my nexus 5.
I tried various , other browsers but it works on dolphin only.
Working on nexus 5 all stock!! On some websites the full screen mode of the player is not working, so you have to pinch to zoom! Anyway good work!!! :good: :good: :good:
Working in my N7, but Dolphin crashes in the N5.
Works on Nexus 5 stock ROM, with Franco.Kernel

Does a page with flash content still lag? this was the reason why i removed Flash.

my market shows it but it fails to download everytime. if someone has an .apk available for manual install that would be awesome.
Here it is: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1611645/Adobe Flash Player 10.1 10.1.72.4.apk
I tried it. Pre-update, flash videos were a little choppy. Post-update, they're as smooth as silk. Well, the ones I tested were. I've heard of some people still getting choppy playback.
As for the above mentioned issue of flash lagging sites out, change the plugins option to 'on demand' in the browser settings. Then flash content will only load when you want it to load.
The new update fixed a lot of issues. I have re-enabled Flash now...
Ive been using its, some of lag has been finxed, its more fluid i find.
Still doesn't work in xScope. =(
hardware accelerated so it's smoother. long tap to full screen works good.
sites tested using nexus one froyo:
m.flash.com
nba.com
espn.com
justin.tv
channelsurfing.net
I wouldn't say it works good. It works, but I'm a long way from impressed. Long tap works 1/4 times, the other times you get some strange results. Either nothing happens, the video stops, loads another page etc. Playback is usually very choppy or laggy. channelsurfing.net was choppy and justin.tv barely played at all.
watched episodes of house on justin.tv on 3g and it's smooth on fullscreen mode.
could be there a reason I can't find flash in the market? It was there till the other day...

It's still not hardware accelerated but it is smoother. They fixed some memory leaks and did minor optimization.
The major change that I really liked was the fullscreen option on long tap. It makes interacting with flash much easier.

justin.tv plays great for me, very smooth!
I picked it up in the market a couple of days ago - fancast works perfectly, as do any sites that pepper me with Flash ads. Oh, and Disney's site works as well.
[ASIDE]
Is it just me or does Disney employ half of the world's Flash devs? ESPN, Disney, ABC sites are all brimming with the stuff. [/ASIDE]
is there anyone that can upload the apk, I still can't install it off the market even having reverted back to my stock install with no root/oc/uv enabled, fails at the install every time.
edit: nevermind, found it in general
Hi
I am unable to watch flash videos through browser on infuse. It says a plugin is required and when i click that it takes to adobe flash page. But flash page mentions that this OS is not supported for flash. I have installed flash 10.3 from market but still doesnt work. Any help?
Thanks
open the browser, hit menu>more>settings>enable plugins>always on
edit:
if that doesnt work look into the "hulu fix" found in the forums for other devices. it may not be recognising the build of the flash plugin, the hulu fix plugin is modified to fake the windows plugin, if it doesnt want to play with the browser, type "about:useragent" (no quotations) into the address bar and set it to desktop, you may also have to clear cookies to get it to work on sites like hulu that intentionally block mobile devices for licence reasons.
if the browser is sluggish then try opera mobile browser, stock android browser can be sluggish on the hummingbird with 2.2. it is way better with gingerbread, unfortunately that will have to wait for a good kernel dev to port over.

Because you are using stock browser, try opera, not the mini okay.
Reason why I like opera browser, if you set flash on demand, when you click the okay on one flash it only plays that single flash that you click, while dolphin and stock browser set "on demand" if you click one flash, every flash on the web page plays, that is why it is sluggish.

Using Maxthon browser or several ip camera players and nothing works. Any help greatly appreciated.
Do you have flash installed? It kinda works for me, I see the babies but then it crashes right away. I tried firefox and the default browser, they both do the same... so I googled a bit and it seems that Google made it way worse with 4.2.2 for flash support.
http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...deliberately-wrecked-flash-support-4-2-a.html
You can get flash from the adobe page, in the archived section. What Android version is Rev 3.6?
Thank you very much for the info. It almost plays for me also. I believe the ROM is ICS. After many hours of searching I believe the problem is the Shock Wave player they use. I can't find any flavor of Android that can view Shock Wave .asp streams.
A friend of mine said that Dolphin browser had shockwave support built-in, could be worth a shot.

Stock browser seems to play nicer with flash videos and using full screen.
Dolphin and dolphin Jet pack both gave me errors.
Will test on Firefox and chrome.
Chrome - working nicely too, faster than stock.
Firefox - loads video but no option to allow full screen Firefox allows (with addon) to download the flash videos from the page.. Works well

Flash video plays very smoothly though...no stuttering.

if that is the case then i repeat my question how did you get it to work on the stock browser? I have been unable to do so?

Flash works fantastically with the AOSP version of the stock browser, which includes full screen. AOSP browser also has the bonus of fullscreen browsing + quick controls.
OK so I download every adobe flash version all the way to ices and still no luck. My 4.3 version worked on my old phone but with my nexus 5 no luck I even switch in between browsers fire fox boat dolphin u name it! Still flash will not work have anybody else tried this? Or experienced this ?

I thought it was just because I was using ART but I guess we'll have to wait for a new version that works with 4.4
Using Boat Browser w. Adobe Flash Player (sideloaded) on Nexu 7 running 4.3.1 on-demand and it is great, no crashes or whatsoever.
Not with N5, however and Boat Browser is what I count on to watch streaming video over fiber @ home.
Probably need updating from the browser folks to make them get along with each other.

Okay, I know I am not crazy. Yesterday I swear I quickly watched a clip of a Prime video on Amazon on the N5 via Firefox Beta with the .81 flash apk. However, now now the Firefox Beta crashes as soon as it opens. I thought I'd try regular FF, which does open, but it says flash is not installed. The only devices I have in front of me are the N5 & the N7 & I am pretty certain I didn't confuse my forums/device yesterday, but I'll be damned if it doesn't work now, at least in the stable FF app. Of course, I guess it is possible, between a new device & the hospital & big UT Austin project we are working on. Damn it, maybe it's not such a good thing to order a new device while designing mechanical systems for critical applications.

thanks for the reply. like someone said earlier today, hopefully the browser devs figure it out soon. I used to use boat browser or dolphin basically every day to stream sports through websites like vipbox or firstrowsports. I found out that photon browser works but its a pain to deal with and not the smoothest since it u watch flash through a browser on their server. having smooth flash on boat browser or dolphin was one of the biggest reasons i switched from the iphone to android devices!
Flash on Firefox isn't working for me either.
I didn't install Flash Player but Flash animations seem to work with Puffin Browser.
Flash on Nexus 5
I've tried multiple versions of Flash and multiple browsers (including Firefox, Firefox Beta [which force closed], Boat, Dolphin, Chrome and Opera). None of them work on my Nexus 5 at the current time.
While Puffin works that doesn't really count because it's using a hosted version of Flash running through a proxy. Apart from anything else that meant I couldn't use it to access BBC iPlayer (which I have the app for, but was using as a prominent Flash site to test whether it was working).
I would much rather locally execute Flash, personally, so I'm not sure Puffin really counts as a solution.
Boat Browser released an update that's KitKat or 4.4 friendly, auto updated on mine and it also fixed the FC issue. My favorite streaming website is accessible again but I still have some issues playing in full screen mode.
Haven't got around to root it yet to restore mobile Adobe Flash's latest *.apk
I'm not having any luck with my nexus 5 either. If anyone finds a fix for adobe flash, please post. Trying to get flash working was one of the first things I tried on this phone and am jonesing to get it working.

ff beta, flash .37, kk temasek for i9300. running fine, but far from 4.2 on stock browser.

Flash still does NOT work with Firefox or Firefox beta, kitkat on Nexus 7.
I need firefox because of their FVD addon.
This thread also confirms that no one can get flash player to work on Nexus 5:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2511573
flash was working fine in Firefox, Photon, and Maxthon on nexus 4 and 4.3.
doesn't work on any of them today after updating to 4.4
hoping browser developers will be able to figure it out since they were able to before.
puffin works great for most but not all sites.
and It's also the only one that allows you to stream a tv channel in one tab while browsing in another.
on all the others the stream stops unless the tab it's in is on top.
photon also has server based flash but you got to pay an annual subscription with them for that.
(correction: free with ads. subscription to get rid of ads. and some sites that don't work on puffin
work on photon. It also works with the streaming tab in the background)
why would you want a streaming window in the background? so you can listen to
various news streams playing in the background tab, or youtube, while browsing in the foreground tab.
android is useless to me without flash in one way or another.
No idea why if it can be included in chrome os it can't be included in chrome on android since
newer android phones are running more powerful processors than most chromebooks.
