[Q] Locked out of my phone, Not prompted for gmail credentials. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

My son ended up setting a screen lock pin on my cell phone and 30 minutes later he brings me the phone and tells me he can't remember the pin. I read on the verizon website that if you enter the wrong pin 5 times there will be an option to unlock the phone using my google credentials. I don't see this prompt on my phone. It's a verizon S3 running Android 4.1 something. USB debugging is not turned on and the phone has not been rooted.
Does Android 4.1 not include the option to unlock using your gmail account?
I even called Verizon and they told me I should be seeing the prompt.
I saw a few apps on the play store that claim to be able to unlock your phone via USB connection, but they only work up to version 4.0.
Worst case I know I can factory reset the phone, but I have a lot of photos on my internal storage and also don't want to lose all my text messages. I have never done a backup unfortunately.....
Is there a way around this or am I screwed? ......
Thanks in advance

[Q] Force USB-debugging to force activate dataconnection (not rooted phone)?

Hi,
I went abroad on vacation and turned off the data connection on my Nexus S (GT-i9023). While on vacation a friend figured out my pattern to unlock my phone. Because of that I changed the pattern and of course couldn't remember the new pattern which led to my phone getting locked. To unlock it I have to sign in to my Google account but like I wrote I turned of data connection before I went abroad so I can't log in to my Google acoount. =(
Is there a way to force activate data connection or WiFi without USB debugging enabled? If not, is there a way to force activate USB debugging and then force activate data connection or WiFi? If I can get either one of them working I guess I would be able to unlock the phone by entering my Google account information.
Is there another way of recovering my pictures and videos from the phone maybe? I really really would like to be able to save all pictures and videos that I took on my vacation up until I looked it out.
Please please help and thank you very much in advance!!
Is your phone rooted?
sent from my so icey ns4G
No it's not rooted.
Have you tried entering "null" without the quotes for your password?
Yes I have tried with null as password and with and without @gmail.com with my username.
I have tried to connect it with ADB but the device is not found. I don't think the USB-debugging is activated so I guess that's why I can't see it. Isn't there any tool to force activate USB-debugging or get around that somehow? Atleast then I would have a chance.
Please, any tips?
I also contacted Samsung support but the only answer i get from them is that i have to reset my phone or send it to them so they can reset it and I don't want to do that.
There must be a way? If I connect the usb-cable while in the boot menu I can see it in the device manager as "Android phone - Android ADB Interface". But if I type adb devices the "List of devices" ends up empty.
Is there really no way? I'm totally new to this but it doesn't make sense that there is no way what so ever to get a connection to the phone. Please help, I'll try anything.

locked out of my Samsung Galaxy S3 which doesn't recognize gmail password

Carrier: Verizon
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S3 4gLTE 32gb
Model Number: SCH-I535
OS: stock
My friend entered the pattern-swipe password too many times, which made my GS3 lock up and force me "To unlock, sign in with [my] Google account". So, I did that many times to no avail. I tried all 3 of my gmail accounts even though I know which one specifically that associated with the google play account as I had bought an application a few weeks back and found the receipt of that app in my main email. Next, I changed the passwords to all the accounts and tried them again. Then after that I changed all my passwords to strictly numerical passwords so my passwords had no letters in them as I thought perhaps my phone was auto-capitalizing the first letter of my password -- didn't work. I've turned my phone on and off multiple times, taken out the batter and sim card multiple times as well. Also, it's important to note that I attempted to log in with and without the domain name: "emailaddress" and "[email protected]" and that I assume the Wi-Fi is turned off due to the fact that manually turned it off since I was on a cruise at the time that was charging $23 per every half hour of internet... I also turned off the data inside the scroll down menu and then turned on airplane mode; however, I was able to turn off airplane mode via holding down my power button and clicking on the airplane mode button. I'm pretty sure that the data is on now, at least when I try to type in my password.
I called google: the woman told me to turn my phone on and off and to make sure I had the right password -- she was clueless
I talked to Samsung online: they told me that Verizon had unlock codes...
William: As you are unable to unlock the device with the Google account details , please contact the carrier for assistance
William: As the unlock codes are provided by the carrier
William: You can contact Verizon support at 1-888-466-4646.
I called Verizon and they said they can do a factory reset and don't have any such "unlock codes"
I've tried to access the phone with Samsung Kies, but it says that I need to unlock the phone first.
I tried accessing the phone through the my computer folder, but there's nothing inside the SCH-I535 folder.
I right clicked and looked at the properties of the SCH-I535 folder and there was no information provided (not even the file size of the harddrive).
I right clicked and tried to import movies and photos and I couldn't do that.
I tried having someone call me (I can receive calls) and quickly pressing the menu button to try to get into the phone -- that didn't work.
So yeah, I can't get into my phone.
I want to at least be able to retrieve my photos/videos from the family vacation I just went on. Is there a way to salvage them? (I didn't set up dropbox or any backup service for that matter) Does verizon backup assistant plus backup information on your phone without you having to set it up? Is the password that I need to supply the same one as my gmail password?
How can I fix this?
Someone save me.
not sure if doable, but I'd try booting into the recovery menu. It usually is done by holding a combination "volume-down + home +power" or "v-up+-home+_power". Once you get there, one of the options should be factory reset.

Wow! You've done everything. Possibly changing the password made the situation worse? It wasn't letting you in regardless. Wow... sucks about your pictures and videos... god damn thing. God damn friend.

If you're completely stock, factory reset from settings, privacy should get you back to the set up wizard or whatever its called. If rooted and custom recovery is installed, boot in to recovery and do a restore or data factory reset. Anything on your SD card should be safe.

Also, I should note that my goal here is to recover my pictures/videos. I do know that the factory reset is an option; however, that wouldn't allow me to retrieve my photos/videos as my 32g stock verizon galaxy s3 didn't come with an sd card, nor did I insert one, so all the pictures and videos are saved onto the harddrive.
Do you guys know if the harddrive is partitioned so that photos/videos are saved in the event of a factory reset?

When you connect it to your computer it should bring up a "Phone" drive, Inside that there should be a folder with all of your pictures and videos. Are you not seeing that at all?
And no, if you factory reset you will lose everything on the internal sdcard
Check your Google accounts. Every now and then, they get hacked or spammed and Google will lock them. Check the account online and perhaps re-set your password. If that doesn't work... you may be hosed.

There is a "phone" drive that pops up as "SCH-I535", and inside of this drive there are 0 items. When I look at the properties the only info it gives me are:
model name
manufacturer
firmware version
serious number
battery life percentage
Yeah, nothing really useful in there.
Thanks for the clarification on the factory reset; I have a feeling that's what I'll have to end up doing :[
can you odin CWM in then backup stuff through there?

I already changed the passwords multiple times to test that out :[
Did you happen start start Google + ? If so, then it should have stored your photos/videos in your Google + account.
Otherwise; I think you have to reset...

I can't. For some reason I cannot find 2 files I need:
Blank System.img.tar
or
Rooted System.img.tar
Does anyone know where I can find these files?

When I originally did my phone I used the rooted stock image image (root66) found here. The original non-rooted images are available in a different thread in the same forum.
Ok just to clarify a few things that have been mentioned in the thread:
If you don't have usb debugging enabled then your phone cannot communicate with your pc so ALWAYS enable that as soon as you get your phone even if you never plan on using it (just in case). Without usb debugging enabled you cannot use any of the backup functions in the S3 ToolKit.
You cannot access internal storage if you are locked out and cannot get past the lock screen for security reasons. If you do not have any security set then you can access internal storage by turning the phone on.
Performing a NAND backup in cwm will not back your data/media folder as it could potentially require a 16/32/64GB backup file if your whole internal storage was used up. For this reason you could not recover any data from internal storage using this method.
Performing a wipe in recovery will NOT format the data/media partition so you will not lose any data on there. I just tried it to make sure and the system is reset but everything on internal storage is still there. This was tested on a custom rom and using cwm recovery 6.0.1.0.
As you dont have usb debugging enabled then your only option to get the phone working again is to wipe from recovery. If it wipes your internal storage then I apologise but there is really nothing else you can do.
Mark.
Just in time, I think this may solve your problem:

He has stated that his phone doesn't have usb debugging enabled so adb commands will not work.

Thank you so much for the help, good sir. Yeah, I made a big mistake not turning on usb debugging or setting up dropbox/google+/something of the sort. Though, I guess it's somewhat of a good thing that this happened since I was never interested in understanding how android works before. Now, I'm planning on playing around with it once I wipe it. Hopefully, it'll work. Anyway, thanks again

[Q]Is the Huawei H710VL bootloader-unlockable, even WITH the unlock code from Huawei?

Little bit of background first...
Finally got my parents (senior citizens) into the smartphone era after StraightTalk starting doing BYOP and I'd had good service so far, but rather than use his old HTC phone which badly needed replacing, he opted to buy the Huawei Sensa (H710VL) branded by TRACFONE and with service via StraightTalk. Fast forward several months, and the old man has discovered a deal for senior citizens from T-Mobile that he likes better, and has opted to switch carriers. Well, he tried to do BYOP with TMOUS and just continue using the H710VL which he likes, but was informed that they wouldn't unlock the phone for another month because they won't do so until you've had it for a year. So therein came my opportunity to promise something I apparently cannot deliver (I told him I'd take the phone home and unlock it for him)!) He (wisely) decided not to wait for me, and went ahead and bought a new phone from TMOUS so he could initiate his new service with them without delay. But I still want to unlock this phone for him, if at all possible!
Fast-forward a few more days--well, I've been screwing around with this phone in the evenings for the past three days, trying to get the bootloader unlocked, and I'm at an impasse. First I had to tangle with the Google account verification, which wouldn't let me even sign into the phone after boot and get to the home screen because I had done a hard reset of the phone first, and didn't have the old man's Google account and password with which to sign back in. Fortunately, intrepid folks who came before me already found a way around that first hurdle. I took the following steps:
1. Went thru HWStartupGuide process until I was able to connect to my home WiFi network. So, internet connection is established.
2. Backed out of there to get to the first setup screen after the TRACFONE splash screen on boot, and used the "emergency calls only" escape hatch to navigate to the stock dialer app.
3. In stock dialer app, entered (without the quotation marks) "*#*#6130#*#*" which took me to the SIM Card Settings screen. Tapped three-dot menu, tapped, "Add SIM Contact," which took me to the native Huawei Contacts app. In Contacts app for the SIM card, tapped "Add Contact," made dummy contact called "Test" with a ph# of 1234. From list of contacts, tapped the "message" bubble icon next to the new "Test" contact, which opened the stock Messages app.
4. In stock Messages app, typed and sent message with the text "www.youtube.com." For obvious reasons the message doesn't send, but it does appear in the messages window, which renders the draft text's content into a hyperlink to YouTube. Bingo! Tapped link and opened up the YouTube app.
5. From the YouTube app, tapped the three-dot menu again, and tapped Privacy Policy from there. Now I'm into Chrome! Opened Chrome without signing in, and navigated to Google.com.
6. From Google.com, searched and then downloaded apk for Test DPC app. Installed Test DPC and set myself up as the new device owner.
7. Now that I'm the device owner, you'd think it would bypass the Google account verification requirement in HWStartupGuide, but no dice. So, rebooted, took same steps to get back into Chrome. From Chrome, I was able to get to the stock Google device search and navigate to the Settings app.
8. From device Settings app, changed settings to allow installations from unknown sources, then I set the option to allow USB debugging, and opened up the dev options to select "Allow OEM Unlock" in preparation for unlocking the locked bootloader, using the unlock code previously sourced from the official Huawei EMUI unlock code site.
So, to sum up, I've got access to the device in general, can use the web and all the apps on the device, and was thus finally able to disable HWStartupGuide to prevent the previous headache from cropping up again. Here's where the impasse starts.
I have Android SDK and everything I need on my laptop (to the best of my knowledge) to facilitate unlocking, flashing, and all the other fun stuff we love to do with our phones.
I was able to confirm the USB and Android drivers are correct and working fine, as I got both fastboot and adb to recognize and list the device when connected via USB cable to the laptop, and it worked both in command prompt and in PowerShell. Fastboot and ADB commands appear to work when facilitated and entered correctly. That is...UNTIL I tried to use the "fastboot oem unlock <unlock code here>" command. It just says "FAILED" with no error code. I tried this from my stock boot options screen (the screen you get when you boot or restart with power and vol-down pressed), and from the stock recovery screen, both to no avail.
This is where I'm all twisted up. There either doesn't appear to be a true bootloader screen to navigate to, or it's purposefully inaccessible, and I don't know how to get to it. If you do a "adb reboot bootloader" command, it just reboots the phone to Android home screen. The only options from the boot options screen are "Power (turn phone off), "Start" (boot to Android home screen), "bar codes" (screen that shows bar codes for the phone's IMEI, Serial #, etc), and "reboot recovery" (stock EMUI recovery screen), where the only options are 'Wipe/Factory Data Reset," "Wipe Cache," and "Reboot."
I feel like if I could get to a true bootloader screen that allows me to enter adb or fastboot command strings in such fashion that you can enter it and then see the process play out on your device screen, then the unlock code from Huawei would probably work and the bootloader would be unlocked, thereby allowing me to root and flash a better ROM, or at least eliminate bloatware and optimize the device for performance. But for whatever reason, and I assume it's purposeful on the part of TRACFONE/StraightTalk, tbh, there isn't a fastboot-capable bootloader screen like my years of using HTC phones taught me to take for granted.
So there I be...stuck, even WITH the unlock code from Huawei! What a crock! I know TMOUS will apparently unlock it in a month or so, but to me, that's not the point. I should be able to accomplish it on my own with the unlock code I got from Huawei. And that's why I'm throwing my hands up and begging for help.
Is there anything else I can try? Is there any other devious way to perhaps flash a different bootloader interface onto the phone that would allow me to use fastboot commands properly? Is it possible to mount the SD card from bootloader and push an apk to it that would install some kind of generic bootloader screen? I'm now a little out of my league, but I am willing to try just about anything that anyone thinks might work. Any advice or suggestions warmly welcomed...not worried about bricking the phone or anything, as it's not much better than a paperweight in its current form anyway.
Thanks!!

Forgot KnockCode Lock on LS777, need help figuring out my options

Hello, I recently found an LG Stylo 3 in one of my drawers that has a knock code on it. I don't remember the code and I already tried 66 times to unlock it (it now takes 240 seconds between each attempt). No "Forgot Password" or backup pin option shows up, USB Debugging is on but it's unauthorized, and the mode that it's on when I connect the phone to my PC is Charging Only. I just want to know what pictures I have saved on it, or if I can pull out my photos or something. I can't reboot into bootloader from the recovery options, it just reboots my phone. I'm able to go into recovery, and safemode, update from adb puts it into sideload mode, and it's connected to my wifi but because I changed my passwords on my google accounts already, the phone doesn't show up in any of my google device manager accounts.
Everything is stock, no custom recovery or firmware and it's not rooted.
What can I do now? Is there a way to reset my password or bypass it entirely? I don't care how technical it is, if given a good guide I can do it. I can't find anything to help me, hopefully someone can help my problem here.
Before anything, I didn't steal the phone, it's my old phone I had when on Virgin Mobile, I can give as much proof as I can to show that it is my phone if needed. I just don't remember the knock code
Thanks!
