I flashed a MIUI rom onto my phone and now it is stuck in roaming. I cant send any texts, connect to my data, or call. To try to fix it I wiped my cache and did a reset. Also I restored to previous roms (jellybeans and cyanogenmod 10), but im still roaming. I dont have a clue what to do. Please help! thanks
Check to make sure your CDMA subscription is set to ruim/sim and not nv. Also double check your imei.

Alright i checked it anf it was set to global so i changed id to cdma/lte but still no luck

that was network mode.
in the area you found that.. look for cdma subscription. should be 2 options lower.
the options should be ruim/sim or nv.
if thats set to nv.. you'll be stuck in roaming.

Since I flashed the new gingerbread I lost my 3g and 4g, I only have edge. I replaced my Sim card thinking that would be the reason.

Have you tried flashing a different modem file yet?
I flashed the kb5 but going to have to wait till I get to town to try it out, no service where I live only wifi.

Grab the all_modems_cwm.7z file and use 7zip to extract all the modems onto your SD card, that way you can swap them out to see which one works best for you.
You can also go into settings > Wireless and network > Mobile networks > Network mode.
Make sure you are on GSM/WCDMA (auto mode), if not try WCDMA only mode, which is 4G.

I have a problem that I was not able to find anywhere here. I am not able to get 4g at all even in areas I know I get 4g in. I have tried changing the mobile networks, flashing the newest radios, reinstalling Rom 3 times and have not been able to fix it. Any ideas anyone?

Right now I am on EHRPD - Verizon Wireless, but I have tried changing it to LTE - Verizon Wireless. After about a minute it seems to change back by itself because when I check it, it is back at EHRPD. Ideas?
APN is VZWINTERNET for both EHRPD and LTE and that seems weird to me.
Did you flash a PRL?

PRL is Preferred Roaming List. Its a file that tells your device which towers to connect to.

I was able to fix* my problem
*I had to factory reset the phone from within the OS so I lost root and possibly unlocked bootloader. Gonna go do that again and try the ROM again.

Yea I just ran the unlock app and it showed as unlocked. I apparently am still rooted as well. I thought I would have to root for sure. Hopefully now any custom ROMS I install will show 4G.
Any time you do a factory wipe, all you do is delete all the data and settings, but it doesn't touch the kernel or bootloader, so if you have a custom rooted ROM and you factory reset, you will still start up into a rooted custom ROM, but with all blank settings/apps etc...

Anyone know the apn for MTS in Donetsk Ukraine?? We had it working on an unlocked Skyrocket before but when my wife and I came to the U.S. we lost the apn. Going back into the Ukraine for a visit soon. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well I don't know the APN, but I never had a trouble with APN's since its provided by the carrier. If none answer this post and you got there with an issue in your data. You should try to reset the APN configs by going on "Settings"->" Network"-> "Mobile Networks"-> "Access Point Names(APN) " and the use the menu touchkey and select reset option.
Hope it does work!!

Thanks for your help. I put the MTS simcard in and reset to default and the apn for MTS showed up. I remember before I always had to input the apn manually. Thanks again!

I posted in another thread that I cannot roam in Canada. I'm on cm10.1.2. I don't get any cell service at all, nevermind data. I have received 2 text messages after found a factory wipe, but then lost my network again.
I'm wondering if I have an old or corrupt prl file. The version I'm running is 15234. The way to check this is settings--aboutphone--status, then scroll down & check what version you're on. If a few people could check that for me& post here I'd be very thankful.

Same here.
Solved my issue. It wasn't my prl. I used the phone info app & changed my radio band to "pcs" which allows my phone to find the local cdma network. It won't get data, but I don't mind that.

this is to fix mms messaging on metropcs flashed verizon galaxy s3. place zip on sdcard, reboot into recovery and flash the zip then reboot. once phone boots up go to settings, more settings, mobile networks, access point names. you will see lte-verizon internet apn click on it to activate apn then reboot. once booted back up send yourself a mms message, it may hang on sending/pending if so turn on airplane mode, then turn off airplane mode and all should be good. this was tested on 4.1.2 with verizon sim in the phone. with non-verizon sim or no sim in had to use apn manager to activate apn

My zip didnt stop it it did stop activation and auto dial for me I beleave I dont think I change anything else but I know I did get it stopped

Yeah, it might be something with CM11 then, it doesn't happen all the time but I get it quite often since CM11.
I also get 3g data drops, and I have to restart in order to get it again,I hope CM11 fix that soon.

Verizon phones usually are factory unlocked but that doesn't matter for flashing it that only matters if u want to put it on metropcs gsm. As for flashing its basically the same but verizon u will prob have to enable hidden menu and when u flash connect to it send spc and set it to nv only then reboot then reconnect write prl and flash as normal
