"Google Search" constant WakeLock? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This has been happening since I bought the phone last week. Google Search is causing a non-stop wake lock. If I Force-Stop it, it stops the wakelocks for a few minutes and then goes back at it again. I attached a photo. Anyone else experiencing this?

This morning, it had 10 hours worth of "Keep Awake."

It's a screw up with the new Google update. You can uninstall the updates and it should be better.

Is this something really necessary? What activity turns this on?
This one I just dont understand. I recently turned off notifications about updates from the play store and now I see this process in the running services. On every reboot it's there and needs to be killed. Why is it running?
Thanks in advance.
The 2nd starts up for me on boot too. No idea why, but I just stop it. The Maps thing no idea. You should get Autostarts from the market. Maps never opens up anymore.

turn Google location reporting off. Settings>Location
you can still use Google now and maps and it decreased the wake locks for me.

That's kinda of ridiculous that you need to turn off passive location to get rid of wake lock, is this a bug? Is it reported?

if google play services is in your dowloaded apps section, uninstall it which will revert it back to factory.. it could be corrupt

You can't.
I deleted mine when I upgraded to 4.4.2, reverted to the factory one in apps/all and so far hasn't come back

Q: How to pin Google Play Music to my notification drawer, fully expanded at all time

Like so. I'd like to keep my music close.

It doesn't stay. Once you clear your recent apps it goes away

Not always for me, sometimes it goes away sometimes it stays. Sometimes it leaves a process in the Settings > Apps > Running tab as well. There is some issue with the app closing itself properly.

I believe I have latest Google play

Google tap to speak voice to text frozen.

I could replicate this all day long. On any application that I could use the voice to text, if I accidently don't close it out and I hit my power button to turn the screen off it will freeze and can not be removed until I reboot the phone or give it about 5 minutes and it will eventually disappear. I've gone as far as factory setting this thing twice and it still does it. Any other ideas or does this happen to anyone else?

I'm glad I'm not the only one, but I'm surprised not many complaints.
I tested on a 3rd note 5 today, same thing.
