The N5 has a virtual SDCard for your data located out at /sdcard/emulated/0/ Place the .nomedia file there.

After some testing. I see that the audioIn wakelock only goes up when I am at the home screen. It doesn't go up when the phone is locked.
I conclude that it's the process that listens for the Ok Google command when in the Google experience launcher

Makes sense to me. I'll check mine out at some point.

I'm getting this too. Seems to be related to Tasker - when I go into Tasker I'm getting a low memory warning.

N5 Awake - Yours Too?

Anyone else experiencing their N5 in a lot of wake time? My phones been on only 5 hours, but theres a sh*t ton of awake in blue in my battery stats. Would better battery stats be able to identify this better?
Anyone else with a similiar experience?
have you got Wi-Fi set to constantly scan?

Lockscreen missing

When my nexus boots up, it has a lockscreen. The moment I get a notification (email, voice mail, etc) my lockscreen disappears and never reappears when I turn my screen on until I reset the whole phone. I have screen lock slide selected under the security section. Anyone have ideas?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Did you load a custom ROM onto it?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Nope. It happens on my stock nexus I've noticed in logcat it says "no lock screen! Windowtoken=null"

Seems it was something to do with the Nova launcher beta. I'll email the dev

Did you find a solution to this? I'm not using Nova launcher and having the same. Posted here what I'm experiencing, plus some adb logcat output:

Yup! I found out why it was happening but it wasn't the developers fault Mods can closed/delete this thread!

I posted above in my thread what I was doing wrong: I messed myself up! I have the No Lock app it turns out that it was somehow set so locking was disabled. Re-enabling locking fixed this problem and solved my hours of wasted time.

Random Reboots and battery drops

What's the best way to diagnose something like this? It happens randomly and I'm not sure what's causing it. I'm stock rooted.

Your wakelocks or horrible. You need BBS as stated, but the instant drop is indicative of a bug in the stock rom or kernel. If it keeps doing that after the wakelock issues are resolved, you may need to flash another rom.

Does this pretty much mean Google search is messing me up?

I think Google search incorporates Google Now which yes, mega battery drain in my opinion especially if it is polling for location constantly.
edit: that looks like my battery stats when I don't try to conserve energy and have heavy usage.

So how do I fix this? Turn off location would somewhat render Google Now to be useless, as does turning it off.

If you're getting reboots, grab /proc/last_kmsg the next time it's on. The last few lines should give you some hints as to why it rebooted.

Kk thanks a lot guys, I think the battery issue overall might have been Google search so now I'm going to try to fix it. If my phone reboots again I'll check the file to see the logs.

Excessive battery drain from Google play services

I am running stock 4.4.2 rooted with xposed installed. The title pretty much explains it as well as the picture. I have a lot of apps greenified and have location set to battery saving and have rebooted several times but still get terrible battery drain from Google services

first off, it being your first post, ill be nice. questions/help/troubleshooting does not go in general, it goes in the q&a/help/troubleshooting section. secondly, you should have searched xda before posting another thread, as we already have many threads about this. here is one that we have been using mainly, for this issue http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/normal-google-play-services-to-drain-20-t2519831
Sorry man just trying to solve this issue asap. You people should try not to be so stuck up to the newbies. I see it everywhere on this site

lol, i was even being nice! didnt say anything that would be considered mean or nasty, or just not nice. i know that youre new, and just trying to solve an issue, and i pointed you towards help. i was just explaining to you about how to post correctly. but we do have our own rules here, which everyone is expected to read and follow, even noobs.
Sorry won't happen again! I went to the thread you directed me to and disabled all the location ones in Google play services using "disable services" and it didn't work for me. Thanks for your help! I'll send a few thanks your way for the misunderstanding

if you disabled those that are shown in a screenshot, did you reboot first? if not, try again. then let the phone sit there for like 10 minutes, then check.
btw, i do agree with you about some of the meanness that goes on in xda. im not like that, i enjoy helping people too much. and the nexus 5 forums here also, it isnt as bad like the rest of xda. there are many here like me, that actually keep an eye on the forums, to make sure that meanness doesnt go on
Disable them all. Reboot. Then charge the phone fully so battery stats reset

I would like my phone to function like it should yes lol. I tried to reboot after disabling the ones with location and rebooted and waiting 10 minutes but Google play services time awake is still rising and has been awake for pretty much the whole batter cycle. Could greenify be causing such issues?

thanks. yea, you definitely have something preventing your phone from syncing. check your google sync in main phone settings, check if any of the stuff that you normally sync isnt stuck syncing(either continuous spinning or stopped spinning). alsi, would you post the battery stats page with your apps % battery use.
I checked and it is not stuck syncing :/
