[Q] Opteka Smartphone Batteries Too Good To Be True? - General Questions and Answers

I noticed this on Amazon and I'm so tempted to buy two of them but is this too good to be true?
So I can't post the link just yet, but it's a Opteka battery for Galaxy S4. 3000 mAh with 3.7v (it's a typo on their site, pretty sure they meant 3.7) for less than 15 bucks. Shipping weight is only 41grams which of course is the part that scares me.
Mugen Power Batteries managed to squeeze in 2750 mAh and ZeroLemon did 3000 mAh with a slightly thicker and heavier pack.
Anyone have any experiences with Opteka? They seem to be more reputable with camera batteries, not so much smartphones. I'm really hoping that this isn't a case of re-labeling the battery.

Momax battery 1700 mAh $17.50

I found this battery on the Web too:
http://www.ioomobile.com/shopbybrand/954-momax-x-level-battery-for-htc-sensation-z710e-1700mah.html
I have had good results with Momax on my Nexus One. Their 1380 mAh battery is nearly indistinguishable in performance from the stock 1400 mAh battery.

I was lucky enough to get a screen protector, barely-there case and a this 1700mah momax battery on a single shop near my house.
The sreen protector is a little thin though compared to the other ones i had used before.

[Q] Yoobao?

anyone who had experience with this battery??
and how was it?
Yeah. I've been through just about most of the batter brands now save for the powerskin, which entirely underwhelms me.
The Yoobao seems about as good as the Momax and looks pretty good except the case suffers from the same problem in that it develops cracks very quickly around buttons and ports. If you were after a battery I'd probably get this or the Momax and then just get a cheap US$8 3000MaH battery on ebay for the cover, which seems to hold up better. The Momax does have the advantage of a little pouch (which this Yoobao cover also just fits into) so I'd probably go with that. Or just buy a spare battery and carry it around. The form of the phone is much slimmer without the extended batteries. If only someone made a good silicone case that fit the momax. Ah. Hope that helps.
Oh, and I say seems to be about the same as the Momax, as I've been swapping kernels and modems a lot recently so I can't report exact usage times....
If it is 3500MaH it should last longer. It is a tiny bit thicker than the Momax 2700MaH battery.
Yoobao
Hi,
i am using yoobao battery for more than two months, i am getting at least 3 days with MIUI, and for quality this is one of the best brand for mobile batteries available in china, also before i was using yoobao additional battery for my HTC legend for an year,
so i would like to suggest to go for yoobao as it is cheap and best when compared to momax,
in china the market price of yoobao 88 rmb, and momax 250 rmb, so i chose yoobao,

doesnt the stock battery last for three days?......
Hi,
I bought a momax and yoobao in the same day(3 weeks ago).
I received the momax one week later(fast delivery, wow)and the yoobao i received it today (I live in Holland, not bad).
The momax battery is quite good (two days of intensive use, always-on WiFi and 3G, gamming, browsing, emails, etc..and 3 days with moderate use) and the case fits well (only a small gap next to the usb port) and the stand is perfect.
I cannot talk about the yoobao battery because I only received it today, but I can say that the yoobao case is not as good as the momax,I had to make some adjustments next to the buttons (with a sharp knife, lol) because it was upon the power and volume buttons and around the camera lens, the stand is not that great!perhaps i receivd a bad one,who knows.
the yoobao battery does not fit in the momax case, but the momax battery fits in the momax case.
My personal advice!go with momax,you get a Carry Pouch,or by both(like i did,not that expensive)and buy a extra wall charger,allways full charged batterys!

Anker 5200mah otter box defender mod

Has anyone considered doing the case mod for the anker 5200mah extended battery yet? I am on Verizon unfortunately so I still have another week to wait to receive my s4 but I currently have the note 2 and I use an otter box defender that I used a dremel tool to cut a hole in the back of the stock battery cover and the back of the hard shell of the otterbox so that the larger anker 6200mah will fit and you barely notice the silicone outer case having a slight bulge. I think it will work with this one too but was just curious as to whether anyone has tried it or is planning to do so like I am.
It may rather huge, am I right?
No more so than just using the defender case by itself. It's not really thicker just a little heavier which makes it feel sturdier to me lol
Any pics?
Whats your opinion on the Anker battery packs? I am considering getting the Anker® Astro3 as it is extremely versatile and 10,000 mah great for ER's
I'll post pics ASAP. I have gotten really good performance from anker batteries. From what I have read about people comparing the extended batteries, the mugen batteries barely outperform the ones from anker and for the price they are incredible. The mugen battery at the same mah was like 140 or so where as the anker was 20 bucks with shipping from amazon. I easily get 2± full days of moderate usage from my note 2 with This 6200mah battery. I know the one for the s4 is smaller but should still perform well.

[Q] What Larger Replacement Batteries Are Available?

I recently read about the Hyperion battery which basically allows you to swap your existing battery for an 8000 mAh battery, and comes with a different case. I think the stock battery is something like 3250mAh.
What other batteries are out for the Galaxy Note 4 and in what capacities? I'm not asking for charging boxes. Secondly, are there any cases available to fit these larger battery packs?

There's Zerolemon extended battery 10k mah (I think) which is like a brick but it is a rugged case (many users have problems with the battery calibration. Mugen Extended battery with qi charging and a stand but has no TPU cases available, no protection whatsoever.
I like the Hyperion 8k because it offers a TPU case and it also doesn't add much bulk
Waiting for my Hyperion to arrive. Zerolemon is too bulky and with all that battery reading issues i've decided to go with less capacity but more comfort.
I'm no stranger to bulk. I currently use a UAG case and I love the size. I'm wondering how they compare in size.

any extended battery with nice-looking case?

Can someone recommend me an extended battery for S5 with nice-looking case? Thank you
Samsung sold extended battery's in Europe but not US. Got one from a german ebay seller for my verizon phone and gives about 20% longer battery. Battery is bigger so some TPU cases might work...but a nice aluminum bumper certainly will.

Bought samsung extended battery EB-EG900 from seller rb-sale-s on EBay from Germany. 38$ shipped about. good deal looks legit to me. Get a slim bumper from ebay seller cyfentech and your good to go. By the way red looks awesome, silver classy too.

Thought phone was so light before battery now seems a lot heavier. But bigger battery is nice.
Would you prefer looking like the original?

Thanks for helping me. I decided the mpj 5600 mah battery and will review it later.
I bought the anker 7500 its a wicked case and battery so far .but I really wish I went with the unu.the unu you can swap batterys and its half the weight of the anker and only 15mm thick it will be my next one .I think they are on sale now
I like the ZeroLemon cases, they look pretty close to Spigen Tougharmor. No idea if they protect as well though.
