Good Day everyone!
i am in need of rooting the wifes old shift to get some things off it. while searching i came across the dev forum and the thread for Shift ROOTility [1.13.13] ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34684160&postcount=1 )
will doing this wipe the data i need to get off the phone?
and per the instructions:
Rooting 2.3.3
Run the 2.3.4 RUU (either one, preferably the 2.77.651.3 version)
is that another program i need to hunt down?
i tried to post in the thread for Shift ROOTtility, but i am a new member here and it would not let me.

Why do you need to root it to get stuff off of it? What are you trying to get?

i installed the cyanogenmod 7.2 stable on the htc evo 4g shift but wen i flash the tiamat kernel thre is no sound wen i press the vol up and down

You have a few options other than rooting if you do not want to Root it. Check out THIS thread to start. There is also a guide HERE that you may want to check out. Also THIS GUI Tool may work for you. Hope that helps you .

Does a ROM have to be phone specific? i just got the att samsung jack and hate the fact that i cant do certain things because the phone is locked and branded. do i now have to wait till someone comes out with a way to flash "THIS" phone or can i flash it with any ROM?!

i love the phone. i just need to flash it somehow with a nomal windows mobile 6.1 version. my phone is from att and is branded. i cant change certain setting with it...bugs the **** out of me...

You have to tell me what software you are currently on the Smartphonie.
Hey guys Sorry but at the time there are no ways to mod this phone aside from disabling 3g and a few other things, here is a good thread explaning alot more.

if linux bozo keeps on like he is then maybe we will have 2.3.5 in the form of cyanogenmod 7 nightlies. this will likely take a month or more but het att wont get 2.3.3/4 till november or so.

Hi guys I am in a pickle.... I am coming to you because I have no other options.
As the title says I have a Wondermedia tablet and I was looking into replacing the stock software because its bull****. Anyway I got the honeycomb ROM UBEROID setup but I can never make it by the bootscreen. I have tried several different devices in the changer.bat but no luck... atm it is laying bricked because I have no way of restoring stock software... Any help with this will be apreciated! PLEASE HELP!

I can not help you with your tablet, but what I can recommend is posting this in the Q&A section. You are more likely to get a response there.
heres what I used
I used a file called tabatronics which is a Verizon uberoid except no configuration settings just extract to card and power on worked like a charm including touch screen which is what I kept having issues I think I uploaded this file if not let me know. I have two of these called a boss 7in tablet I got on base but took almost 2 months to find a file that worked.
There are two files u extract one is a command the other a folder with the system remove these from your card.or zip when done or will install on each boot and took lose everything also made mine alot faster hope this helps.

I have same tablet with you. This phone running flash with sdcard script. maybe you can use this link http://nsfat-community.blogspot.com/2013/04/stockrom-jelly-bean-411-build-605.html. i used n work good. download stock JB 4.1.1 v 0.65, denmaz.tgz ( root flasher ), autorun.sh. place on root sdcard, insert to phone and reboot.

Hi. Just recently flashed ParanoidAndroid 3+ on my phone. But I am having some issues with it. The biggest issue was It seems I can't access to HYBRID SETTINGS. When I tried to apply some settings, it says reboot, I reboot, after reboot, nothing changes, nothing happened. I wanted to change the size/resolution because its too small but its not working. I am having a hard time hitting the options due to small fonts/resolution. 2nd issue was I can't send SMS because it says service not available.. What's wrong with my phone?:s Did I do something wrong upon installation with ParanoidAndroid?

it is not what i expect to look like. As you can see only the PA colors has a description.
see?its too small.
As you can see, the size setting is set to 0. which is too small. when i try to move the button to right to change size, it won't move :/
the system says, cant send SMS due to unavailable service..
I really hope someone would help me because Iwould really like to use ParanoidAndroid for my device :crying:

Rom thread means, the thread from where you downloaded the ROM.
