I have a TF700T, unlocked, TWRP and CROMI 3.0.4.
My battery meter is acting weird. For example I recharged both my tab and the dock this afternoon. I unplugged them around 16:30. I've been using my tab for the last few hours (it's now past midnight), not all the time, but quite often. The meter on the tab is still showing 100%. The one for the dock is showing 94%. This is not the normal behavior of my tab and it's been doing that since I unlocked and installed TWRP and CROMI. Before, it would start to go down almost immediately, and would start recharging only at 70%, like it's supposed to.
Last time it stayed at 100% for a while and then started to drain very quickly, and then stabilized and started to act normally.
I'm trying to understand whatcould be the problem. Last time it got "stuck" like that I went to recovery and TWRP was also showing 100% power left. So it's not CROMI. But it's something... Anybody else with the same problem? Or anyone got a solution, an idea? Because I'm worried this will get worse...

You could try clearing the battery stats. I think TWRP has the option to do it, not sure about CWM.

Is there an ideal moment to do that? After a full recharge?
Usually you do 100% charge, clear stats, reboot let it get back to 100% and unplug but to be honest it probably doesn't really matter.
You'll know fairly soon if you still have the problem.
I just checked mine and it started with tablet battery until down to 89%, then dock battery kick in maintain the tablet battery around 89-90%.
The dock shouldn't recharge the tab unless it reaches 70% or lower. At least it's what it was doing before, and what's documented as normal behavior. Since my tab spends 99% of its time docked, I don't know how it would behave undocked...

Well, unfortunately, it isn't solved. When I deleted batterystats.bin it went back to "normal" at first, the tab was fully charged and it started to go down almost immediatly after I unplugged it. But yesterday it died on me while the gauge was still showing a little bit less than 30%!!! I did a full charge last night, and it's back to its old tricks: stucked at 100% for the last 8 hours (overnight).
This is very annoying... Is there anything I can do to recalibrate the battery gauge?
And why is this happening? I didn't have this problem when locked with stock ROM and recovery... I'm not complaining, I just want to understand and maybe try to fix this! Thanks!

Could be a battery hardware issue? Sounds like it's not reporting its current and voltage correctly.
You need to get some battery monitoring apps on it so you can see what is really going on.

Could be, but it's weird that it started just after I decided to unlock. It was fine the first 4 months of its life...
Any battery monitoring app you recommend? There are a few on Google Play... I have Battery Widget Reborn, it does some monitoring, but it doesn't provide a lot of information. I'm sure there is an "ultimate battery app" or something... Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated!

Ok... So I did some testing... My tab is shutting down (more like crashing) at 28% and showing 6561 mV. I then have to plug it in and wait for 5-8 minutes before it will allow me to boot it.
So I plugged it in... It reached 100% at 8169 mV... But then, it continued to charge. As of now, it is at 8296 and still going up as I'm writing this!!

Now, I don't know, but it look suspicious to me that this problem started when I installed TWRP and CROMI. Could it be related, somehow??

What happens if you wipe the battery stats again?
The only other thing I can recommended is a total wipe, reflash Asus stock to redo the bootloader, TWRP and reflash CROMI. Others don't have this problem so it is something particularly to your setup.
All those posts you linked are pointing to the 4.2.1 update causing the issue. As we only have 4.1.1 I can't see any relationship unless Asus injected some 4.2.1 code into their latest update which seems unlikely.

I suggest you should do a full wipe and reflash cleanrom and kernel. This way you can eliminated all the possiblility with software and pin it on hardware.

I have the same problem with my battery meter, and just like with you, it started when my TF700T was almost exactly 4 months old. The batteries (dock and tablet) have to be close to drained. I've been using the tablet without batteries for many hours, both yesterday and today. But my tablet battery is showing 100% and the dock battery is at 95%. That has to be wrong.
I have GSam Battery Monitor Pro. It can only tell me about the tablet battery (it's blind to the dock battery). Yesterday when I looked at this, it was telling me that the screen used no power. I'm looking at it now and it says that screen is using 68.6% of the power - that's more like it. But it's weird that yesterday the number was zero. It tells me that the unit has only been unplugged for 5 seconds, and has been telling me that since I unplugged it yesterday. GSam usually saves history, but not in this case because it thinks the unit has only been running on battery power for 5 seconds.
I also have a battery widget that is dual-battery aware. It has a history chart, but it doesn't tell me much. It shows the tablet battery at a constant level of 100% with no dips, and the dock battery very slowly dropping from 100% to 95% over the last two days. This is just wrong.
What's been happening is that the tablet will suddenly shut down when I think it's charged, and then I can't turn it on. I didn't realize what was wrong until I discovered that if I plugged it in for a while, I could turn it on again. Obviously the battery is draining completely, but the meter is incorrect. Also, draining the battery completely then recharging to green (which I hope still means "complete charge") has done nothing to recalibrate the battery.
I'm afraid this is a hardware problem. I guess I need to contact Asus?
I'm also having problems with constant browser crashes - doesn't matter what browser it is, I've tried them all. In general, this tablet has been a huge and expensive disappointment.
Edit: I'm running ICS 4.0.3 stock, rooted but not unlocked. I don't want to upgrade to JB because I need the volume booster app. I've read that the volume problem is just as bad under JB but the volume booster apps don't work (nor do many other programs I use). There is nothing in JB I need. From what I've read, people running JB have all the same browser crash problems, battery meter problems, etc.

I feel your frustration, I have seen more and more people with this issue. Well, we could say that either software or hardware, (not every situation is the same), so usually I recommend to do a factory reset then reflash a full Asus firmware, if the issue stills existed, then we can assume it's hardware issue. At this point, we can give Asus tech support a call.

Thanks for your reply. Have you heard back from anyone who has done a factory reset and reflashed the Asus firmware? Has anyone reported the problem going away after that?
The other thing I'm worried about is that it's a hardware problem that Asus doesn't know how to fix because they don't yet know what's causing it. I can't recall anyone saying they've found a solution to this. I've only seen reports of the problem.
I have other serious problems with this tablet, too. It runs short of memory all the time, though this isn't supposed to happen on Androids. I often have to manually clear memory to view screenshots in the Play Store. And the browser is constantly stalling, freezing, and crashing - every browser. I've tried more than 5 of them. This is especially inconvenient for me, since I make heavy use of the browser on the tablet.
I keep thinking of that pressure-sensitive Samsung tablet I almost bought instead...

Hi, using franco kernel #50 and Mahdi rom 4/25 and noticed my battery was draining extremely quickly. I checked battery settings, and it says I am getting a 27% battery usage from com.android.systemui.
Are there any known solutions to this?
The only thing I can think of that could be causing this is TouchControl(slide to wake)
Any help fixing this is greatly appreciated!

yup. battery drain with touch control has been known about for a long time.
After doing some testing, it seemed to be the lockscreen notifications for Mahdi rom, which turned itself on when you picked it up(like active display).
Anything to do with active notification (pocket mode) or tap to wake, anything like that is a big battery drain on the N5.
don't know if it could be helpful, but I want to share with you my experience.
Yesterday I did notice a heavy battery drain caused by android.systemui process. a 80% of battery gone in about 3-4 hours, without having done any particular operation or installed any new app. moreover, I was sleeping when it's happened.
I'm on a Nexus 5 with CM 11 Snapshot M9.
I remembered to have suffered an identical issue about one month ago, and no wipe was useful. the problem disappeared by itself the day after, and the a battery calibration it seemed to be the only helpful thing. but I was wrong.
I connected the fact that the problem appeared the first time the 31 of july. and, coincidentally, yesterday was the 31 of August.
believe it or not, by changing the date the problem was totally disappeared. completely solved.
so I suppose that it's a bug related to the system date, incapable to handle correctly the 31 of each month. very, very strange.
maybe (probably) it's not the solution for everyone who found this issue, but if you notice an abnormal battery drain by the android.systemui process, try to change the system date.

I came across this thread thru google search since I was having a huge amount of battery drain due to System UI on my Note 4 running custom ROM since yesterday.
And to my surprise, your 'strange' solution did work on my device.
Though its hard to justify since i didn't find any unusual wakelock/alarm for system date in Gsam/Betterbatterystat/Amplify but it did work.

Googled "System UI drain" and came to this thread, although I have Nexus 5X. I have read last two posts and thought "****, the problem looks just like mine, but the solution seems unrepeatable". Then I looked at the date - 31st of May. I will wait till tomorrow.

Also; with i9003 i used Custom Roms; and used to " Erase Battery Stats "; wich such erase seemed to be the problem.
Since i've never erased my stats (to keep my device as close to factory as possible); what could be causing this issue?
Any experts on this matter that can provide me accurate info?

The first thing that must be checked here is that wall charger and usb cables are not at fault. It maybe a coincidence that happened at the same time you started flashing stock firmware.
2nd depends on the firmware which you have chosen,
Different firmwares have different ways of working. Some have blocking modes, some have power saving modes, different set of features, different bugs as well too.
It might be a glitch altogether as well.
Nobody can explain this exactly accurate unless you try these options. Mine aee just aimed at pointing you to the right direction.

One more point, tried discharging it completely? Then charging it in offline/online mode?
Now what about battery stats?
Erasing battery stats, well if you have searched on google about it, you would have seen mixed comments about it's affecting battery life, some says it does help, some says it doesn't.
Some feels It's better to do it and
some prefer better to leave it untouched.
My experience on same issue
I had 2 same sduos devices.
on both I used to flash roms
Custom, stock, everything.
Only difference was, on first one, I did erase battery stats many times.
And the second one I didn't ever touched it.
Result-well the first one, I got 4 other batteries replaced for it, and even the new ones would have trouble keeping the charge on the device after I wiped the battery stats. I couldn't blame the battery stockist for giving me 4 faulty batteries. Battery levels were erratic on stock, on custom.
Second one seems working pretty much nicely and i still haven't replaced the original one. Although on this, sometimes I have a glitch, where battery level would drastically go down after restarting the device and slowly build up to the same level without charging.
I know it's a glitch coming from the custom kernel side. Altogether it's better this way.

I was a little bit affraid that my battery or System got messed up somehow.
Do you know if flashing affects the Battery Stats in any way?

The last one percent does take extra time to reach that last 100% charged level.
The answer to your question is Yes and no.
Where is batterystats stored? It's stored inside root/data/system folder
When you flash or format your device data, it gets wiped too as well
So, Yes. cause it got deleted even when you only deleted data.
It affect battery No. Why?
What information that file has? Is it really important?
Information that you see in settings battery
It holds record of all the past history not the current ones. Or future ones.
Now you decide.

Further additional bummers
I was checking the batterystat in my device, and to my findings i saw, the file got modified after I full charged the device. So, it gets rewritten/modified/deleted after each full cycle. So, regardless of flashing rom or data, that file is constantly deleted, modified and created!!
Now suppose if I decide to delete that file holding my current charge capacity information, or the better so called "battery calibration" or "wipe battery stats" from cwm, which is nothing more than deleting it the same way from a root manager.
The file would be created again after restart, with new stats, which could be random or the lowest or highest values, according to the algorithm. Which would be seriously clueless of what the heck did happened to it!
That should clear why people claimed to have good and bad experience with their battery stats.
Even if their battery were good, the stats showed it bad and vice versa.
The algorithm is not at all easy to crack, let alone be calibrated. Even If someone would try to do it, Highly impractical, nor worth it. False claims.
Easiest was deleting it, thinking of it as a refresh, users would do it. And termed the coin calibrated.

So many apps were popular for calibration as well that time. Around 4 years back. I Can't remember their names but i did tried them as well!, in the beginning!!
I did learn from my mistake over the years, thanks to you I looked for answer inside me today. Although I stopped that habbit long ago, but you reminded me of digging deeper today

Thank God i'm not the only one reaching such conclusion.
I've done pretty much the same steps; except i didn't knew what to check within the "battery stats" file, and i wasn't aware of the algorythm behind it.
I've tested pretty much those applications as well by that time with my i9003. (Back then someone said iDeleting Battery Stats / Calibrating had a "bogus" effect...)
Well.. I did noticed lots of differences each time i Deleted the " Battery Stats " - Either with CWM or through some application.
Sometimes Good improvement, sometimes terrible (until battery got fat, and stopped charging completely - Actually my i9003 is stuck at 60 or 80%, it simply wont go further).
After so many "Mistakes" on my i9003 i realized that the Battery Stats should be left untouched to prevent any " damage " / issues. I just didn't had a clue what exactly was behind that " Battery Stats " file ( Changes and Operations - or Code if you Prefer)
...
With all this being said and tested.
It seems Logical that Whenever we put a device charging, it should charge completely without interruptions.. Else it may or may not corrupt the file, algorythm or make the battery faulty.
Maybe these are the reasons why manufacturers advice people to fully charge their devices, and in some devices to "Not Fully Discharge " them.
Ofcourse, this is just a theory.

It's been a while since I posted on the forum since although I wasn't overly happy with my battery life, it wasn't giving me too many problems. However the last couple of days have been a nightmare! For the record, my phone is not rooted.
I've attached some screen shots which I took on the fly, but I've been getting some really weird results from GSam. Since the 500% result I've reset the cache and the other images are what the battery is currently using.
However since its draining so fast I can barely see myself able to go anywhere without a charger!
I usually leave wifi and 4g off overnight anyway so when I woke up earlier I was surprised to see it with a 10% drain from doing absolutely nothing. I had to put it into power saving mode last night as I needed my alarm for the morning and was worried the phone would drain too quickly.
As far as I can tell the phone is sometimes entering deep sleep and sometimes not. It wasn't at all last night and isn't currently either. I really have no idea what the problem is and wanted to feel out some ideas before I factory reset the phone for the second time. I kind of wanted to avoid it if poss but am beginning to think it might be the only option. I'm also now worried there's something wrong with the battery
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Try debloating stock rom, use free debloater from XDA (You dont need root to use it). I've uploaded my list of debloated apps as reference, double check what You'r using and if You'r not sure what app does what try google-ing it.
You can also try disabling stock Chrome browser and install Chrome Beta (I've been using it for few years and never had any problems with it)
Also beware of disabling Samsung Store etc. as some members of XDA pointed that after disabling it, it won't work untill factory reset.

Does it work on Mac? I don't have a Windows computer. I've not done this sort of thing before, is it easy to do? :/
I'll look up chrome beta but I don't know if it's anything to do with that since it's pretty bad even when I'm not using anything. I wish I could tell what was rinsing my phone battery. Maybe I should attempt to root it after all.

I was at home all day yesterday, I barely used my phone. I unplugged it in the morning around 6:00am, and battery was reported at 100% until about 10:00am. That can't be accurate because I made a couple calls and browsed around a bit.
From 10:00am, it discharged slowly to about 60%, when I went to bed at 9:00pm.
When I woke up at 6:00am this morning, the phone was totally drained and off. This doesn't make sense. Standby drain should be 2 or 3% an hour. not 60% over 9 hours.
Something is up...I'd greatly appreciate if anyone can help me solve this.
The battery on this phone doesn't seem to be calibrated all that well, so it is dropping faster than it appears to be when you unplug with a full charge. It doesn't really stay at 100% for 4 hours, so eventually it will start dropping faster once the phone realizes you are missing more battery than it thought.
With that said, you definitely seem to have had some process that bugged out and was running all night until the battery died. If that keeps happening I'd do a factory reset

thanks. I appreciate the answer. Any idea how to find that bugged process? All of the battery stat apps require root to identify this, which doesn't exist at the moment.

I don't know how to yet on unrooted 8.0. I don't know if the keyboard is considered a system app, but I lost 20% of my battery yesterday to Gboard so I wonder if that's also your problem. Mine did show up somewhere in the battery stats though so if you didn't see it there that's probably not your issue
Try Better Battery Stats (there's a good xda thread) and gsam (from the play store). If unrooted, you have to set some things with adb to get all functions.

There is root now that is definitely some rouge apps and or un calibrated battery hope u get it sorted out
I don't have this phone (yet), but isn't there a way to boot into the stock recovery/bootloader and wipe the battery stats there? or maybe an app that can do it that does NOT require root?
