Thread has been sticked for now; please note that it needs to be actively maintained, or it will be unsticked.
Thanks for the contribution!

Thanks for the info!
I think you should update the info everyday and collect all other roms, kernels info. :good:

Well I might not update it everyday as I have other things going on, but I will try to do it at least once a week
Added more things from Original Android Development

4.4.2 and 4.4.1 builds are out . Enjoy!

Tried several 4.4.2 out there today but was getting error because update won't work if system is changed.
Finally, yours worked like charm. Updated from 4.4 to 4.4.1 and then to 4.4.2 using CWM recovery.
Thanks bunch!!

I must say that I do not have any ROMs in the Index, I just linked other people's work

Does anyone which kernels would be compatible with CM11? Tried the KEXEC and its non-KEXEC alternative, and wifi quit working on both. Really hoping to see Franco for CM11 at some point.

Bruce's CM is non-CAF so more kernels will work with it

From what I know franco is not compatible with cm11. Try at your own risk but just make sure to make a backup before.
I have used both glitch and franco but on an AOSP ROM (SlimKat). Glitch has way more options and it seemed quite stable. Franco comes with the promise of good performance and stability.

Just added a poll with most used/talked about ROMs. Unfortunately I cannot add another one just for kernels as from what I see, one thread equals just one poll. Best way for you to find out more is to read, read and read some more and then, when you really cannot find the answer...just ask around

[Q] Mods, Stable Rom/Kernel combos, Scripts ect?

Okay so I am new to the Nexus S 4g (crespo 4g) and i'm just wondering what some good ROM/kernel combos are, I'm currently running paranoidandroid and it's not bad but i want more speed, also the RAM on this phone isn't that great so are there any ram scripts available? and since there's no ext sd is there anyway to partition so i can move apps/data/cache to sd? I work so much I don't have time to thoroughly search for this info like I used to be able to... Thanks in advance
As far as the kernel goes, i have always stuck with matr1x. there are quite a few rom options out there but my top pics are AOKP and Euroskank kangs. Also Rascream is definitely worth checking out. I would recommend running the phone without scripts at first so you have a baseline then if you add scripts later, youll know if they are working or not later on. Not sure about moving apps/data/cache. good luck

Help!
I have been experimenting with a lot of ROMS on my Rooted Nexus S (I9023) and so far haven't been able to find a single stable ICS ROM!
Frustrated with my experience, I went back to stock GB ROM which has now got automatically upgraded to ICS (4.0.4).
However, since the time the ICS upgrade has been done, I am unable to flash clockwokmod recovery on my phone! Even superuser permissions don't seem to work!
Can someone please help me with this problem & also suggest a stable ICS ROM with everything working?
Thanks!

hi mate, I've been running Codename 2.0 for past 3 months ( prior JB), never had a single issue, no reboots and other crap, only issue is that ur start up tweaks don't stay after reboot.
Btw rom has been left without support.

|ROM||AOSP||JB||4.2.1||Perfect Android 2.1

Perfect Android is a redistribution of the Android Open Source Project and Google software code that I have lightly modified to make as a daily driver for myself that I'm sharing with the community. This project doesn't have and won't focus on adding a ton of features and mods but instead focus on stability, and reliability so yes basically this is a stock like rom but not just stock my only efforts will be to make it run better, and be more polished, and complete.

If you have an error or something pops up I ask that before you post about it please make sure that you are running the ROM as provided. I cannot troubleshoot anything that is related to using other kernels, mods, or themes.
This ROM is basically like a stock rom of jelly bean so there is not a need for screen shots ........
Always remember that XDA started out as a great place and will remain a great place as long as we are great to each other anything used in this ROM is available upon request and feel free to use this as a base rom for any other project my ROM is un-branded just give me some mention .......
WANT TO CUSTOMIZE THIS ROM READ THIS:

AOSP - of course
Probably gonna add a changelog here
AOSP 4.2 ROM so quickly? That will be interesting
Can you have some screenshots?
yep its uploaded
it looks just like stock I built it to be at least as good as what you get from google if everything is working correctly that is when I will begin modifying but for now it looks like the stock ROM so I didn't think screenshots would be needed
first of all you have to give us changelog, then i'll flash it, because now i don't know exactly what are the differences between Your rom and stock, so is it worth flash it?

Its solely up to you guys if you want to flash it as this is an expensive hobby for me I'm just sharing what I do with the community so is it worth it, for me yeah, for you I really don't care, I hope I'm not coming off as an ass but I have to draw a line somewhere. I not making any claims with this ROM I just sharing it if you use it fine if not fine, I don't get into the whole screenshots large claims huge changelog thing I just post and share I also maintain this ROM for the Sprint Galaxy Nexus which it has done just fine so if you want you can do a search here and see what and where I come from .......
I'm very happy when see any new rom in N7 development, because nexus need fresh look from developers, so i was thinking that You could push some new tweaks into ours devices. Almost all roms here are just "cleaned" or "minimalistic" or "performanced" in real these rom are almost stock with the same user experience. So do not get angry when I want to know if there will be something more here...
Does it work with twrp?
After flash with twrp, I see the information is Android 4.2 JOP40C. I dont know whether it is flashed or not?
I will happily try your rom to see how it compares to CleanRom, give my feedback tomorrow

I'm not getting angry with you in fact I agree however, regardless of how you feel about those roms someone still put that effort into them. Honestly for me the N7 is a new device and before I go making claims that my ROM can start your car and end world hunger I want to make sure that it at least meets stock standards. AOSP has done a lot of work to somewhat remove google entries in their code so it has taken me a few days to re-build AOSP code to work correctly with G-APPS and other Google code I do NOT claim to be an over the top developer I just do this as a pastime I have certain things that I do not like and thats why I have started making my own ROMs so that I always get what I want. Now I can tell you this and I know this as a fact THIS IS NOT A WINZIP KITCHEN ROM IT IS BUILT FROM SOURCE it took hella work to get it up to a win zip ROM and thats where we're at so far lol. When I learn all the changes to the 4.2 coding I will start to add small feature to my ROM.

To make unjustified happy... (and add visibility to the rom)

For more information on the rom, please visit http://xylon.androidvenue.com or look at other xda xylon threads for pretty pictures and such.
This is -not- straight from source, there are many manual edits(additions, changes, removals) done after the rom is finished building before I upload it.
Thanks to the Xylon team for the sources.

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks to Effsi, Unjust, Dynamic, xboxfanj, and anyone else I'm forgetting for keeping the OG Epic still alive and kicking. This community is utterly amazing with how many ROMs are popping up and the ROMs that are STILL being developed behind the scenes, along with the people who support others as much as they can. This phone should've been dead a long time ago, and yet we're all still here going strong. I like to check other phone sections to see what's going on with their developments, and those communities are either dead, or dying (like the NS4G forums). But not us! I use to be jealous that we didn't have much compared to other phones, but now, we have EVERYTHING. So once again, thank you everyone for keeping the dream alive.

Ya that wasn't meant for you guys sorry... I was just trying to get the files to work from home and uploaded to there temporarily...
If you can figure out the systemui issue the build should be pretty badass. I'm using the parts I could in an older xylon build as a kangy update myself... probably upload it later but it'll be missing the badass framework uxylon has.
Hate to do two posts in a row but if any one has the uxylon upload with crashing systemui... if you could uploqad a logcat that'd be great

Thanks a lot! Two questions:
1-do you expect better battery life than cm11 or hypnotoad??
2-can it be dirty flashed over cm 10.2.1?
THANKS THANKS THANKS!!
Should have great battery life...better than cyanogenmod....I only recommend dirtly flashing for future updates of this ROM only...a dirty flash will more than likely carry bugs from prior ROMs over to this.. Also the source code for device used in this rom does differ from CyanogenMod and TeamApexQ's source. While its similar there is quite a few changes me and snuzzo have made to prevent future issues as well as better the performance. i know @falle21 is getting some very good battery life on this rom even with moderate use
Today I have 4hours of screen on and 9 without charging and still have 20%, better than CM and similar Hypnotoad

Very little was changed. I'm planning on keeping a weekly kernel build up with merges of cm-11. Any future ROMs these kernel packages should work OK on. This will at least bring somewhat of a good standard for roms also that are based off cm's hardware device tree.
Looking into bringing some official builds for ROMs as well. Just trying to bring up what seemed to be a dead legacy device, bringing some life to it.

I like this legacy device because it has a keyboard. If someone comes out with some new hard-keyboard phones again, I might move on. But until (unless?) that happens, I'm grateful that you and others are working to keep the apexqtmo alive.

Basically a CM with further customisation from what I gather.
Although this is not to my tastes, it's a nice rom.

whats your taste? i may build something along what youd like....aside from popular roms i do plan on building one of my very own eventually. Carbon is more its own thing really...whilst having a cm style and features plus a bunch more especially in interface tweaking and such it does have its differences. especially battery life and performance on this differs from straight cm due to not using a straight cm kernel

EDIT: My mistake, it looks like they've changed the forums, been a while since I was last here.

Check the third post of the thread below, lots of resources for unlocking your bootloader, rooting and installing custom recoveries. Read read read and come back if you have any questions/need any help. There is also a toolkit by Wugfresh in the development section, which is pretty straight forward if you prefer.

I'm trying this one on my Nexus 7 2012. This is exactly what I was looking for (fast and lightweight).
So far performance is great! Good work!
There is some privacy guard to control app permission in the rom?

Ramping up to push out the 5.1.1_r2 update. I'm not really sure what to add, since I imagine my rom to be as close to stock as possible, with only a couple added things. I'm thinking an Advanced Power Menu.
Cool. I'm on a N7 (2012). Will I need to flash a tablet tips zip for the different dpi setting or is this already set up for that? Thanks in advance.
I would appreciate the APM. Also, does this ROM support F2FS or data and cache?

Looks very nice, does it have double tap to sleep on statusbar?
It's the only feature I need thanks!
Wow I apologies this is for n7. I must have to much going on...anyway I've installed rooted and so far loving it!
Thread closed - Source still not apparent in OP.
I'm suspending this project since there doesn't seem to be a big interest in it and I have other things to move on and do. There are plenty of other Roms for grouper. If I see a big interest spark for my ROM to return, I'll look into it. Thanks everyone!
Thanks
