Hi all
Ive managed to flash new firmware to my Android Tv box and am now looking to update it further.
Found a script which is supposed to be very good but i have no idea how to get it to run on the box

Thread above has a link to the .img file and links to scripts to add the image file but i cannot figure out how to do it.
Anyone either give me a step by step guide or point me to where i might find one?
Thanks

Hey guys,
how can I extract the .img files that come with the SDK?
Actually I want to try to port the Android 2.0.1 that comes with the emulator to my device but I don't really know how I have to do that.. But I'm very excited about it and it would be very helpful for me if somebody could write a short overview how to do that (I know that I have to care about many other things like a boot.img and so on..).
Best regards,
b!rust
Google "unyaffs", it should work with the img files.
Hi,
I'm very unsure where to put this thread as my device has no forum of its own. I have a ViewSonic ViewPad 7 tablet, but I guess this is not even a device specific question, which is why I ended up posting it here.
I have an image of the stock ROM on my tablet (system.img + boot.img), but I'm unable to extract or flash the system.img directly, which is why I need your help. I've been reading some topics regarding this and tried out different methods, but either I am doing something wrong or the image is not complete. It was created using the cat command in the shell.
If any of you should be able to extract the system.img from this zip file I would be forever grateful, as I really need to get my stock ROM back so that I'm able to have Danish locale as well as text messages.
Thank you very much in advance!

Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for more relevant answers.

Can you tell us what device you are using?

Hey all,
I'm looking at getting into firmware modding and was wondering where would be a good place to start. Initially I'm just looking at seeing what is actually in an android frimware. For example using this image
https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/shamu-lmy48m-factory-336efdae.tgz
I can unzip it to the point where I get a few .img files. Doing some reading online I see a tool called binwalk to extract these, but when binwalking system.img I get an output of hundreds of GB which seems very wrong. I get the feeling that I've misunderstood something and hence this post. Can someone point me in the right direction?
I am hoping someone can offer me some assistance.
I am attempting to root an Oukitel WP5 by following the instructions in post #3 of this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/oukitel-wp5-t4129533
However, I am at a loss when it comes to step 8.
I tried to read the guide for SP Flash Tool but got lost.
When I start the program, it is empty and asks for a scatter file. I don't know how/where to get the scatter file.
Once I do know where it comes from, I don't know how to 'readback' the files I'm supposed to in step 8.
Can anyone assist me in this endeavor?
Much appreciated!
Some time went so maybe I am too late but maybe someone will find it useful.
The scatter file is a part of original firmware pack. Just search for T6761_Android_scatter.txt in it.
