[MOD] 4x5 TouchWiz Launcher (continued for MJA/MK2) [UPDATED 12-14-13] - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Themes and Apps

***** ATTENTION PLEASE: These mods are for MJA/MK2 ONLY! If you want them for MDL and MF9 go here *****
Hello,
I'm creating this thread for those that would like to continue using the options that @fgr offered with his custom homescreens. I have continued the work on custom homescreens for MJA that will give you more room on your TouchWiz Launcher.
These are deodexed Launchers. If you want to try this on an odexed rom, first download any other launcher from the play store and switch to it, then use root explorer or equivalent to delete SecLauncher3.apk and SecLauncher3.odex from system/app. Boot into recovery, flash, reboot, switch to your new touchwiz launcher, uninstall nova or whatever you used and enjoy. This has been confirmed to work.
Downloads:
Sprint Touchwiz Screens:
4x5_4x6_3x4_PI_Down_Scroll_NoText_MJA.zip = 4x5 home screen, 4x5 app screen, 3x4 widget screen, page indicator down, no bottom icon text, scrolling wallpaper.
4x5_5x6_3x4_PI_Up_Scroll_MJA.zip = 4x5 home screen, 5x6 app screen, 3x4 widget screen, page indicator up, no bottom icon text, scrolling wallpaper.
4x5_5x6_3x4_PI_Up_Scroll_Text_MJA.zip = 4x5 home screen, 5x6 apps screen, 3x4 widget screen, page indicator up, bottom icon text, scrolling wallpaper.
4x5_5x6_3x4_PI_Up_NoScroll_Text_MJA.zip = 4x5 home screen, 5x6 apps screen, 3x4 widget screen, page indicator up, bottom icon text, no scrolling wallpaper.
5x6_5x6_3x4_PI_Down_NoTxt_Scroll_MJA.zip = 5x6 homescreen, 5x6 apps screen, 3x4 widget screen, page indicator down, no bottom icon text, scrolling wallpaper.
Touchwiz 4.3 Restore.zip = restore file. This will restore the original stock Touchwiz screens.
I9505 Touchwiz Screens (by request only):
I9505 4x5_4x6_3x4_PI_UP_NoTxt_Scroll_MJA.zip = 4x5 homescreen, 4x6 apps screen, 3x4 widget screen, page indicator up, no bottom icon text, scrolling wallpaper.
I9505 Touchwiz 4.3 Restore.zip = restore file. This will restore the original stock I9505 Touchwiz screens. If they don't flash correctly please pull the apk files from the zip and push them to your phone setting the proper permissions.
IMPORTANT:
When switching from a larger Home Screen grid to a smaller Home Screen grid, remove any icons that will not fit in the smaller grid before flashing. For example, you're going from a 5x5 to a 4x5 homescreen, and you had a widget in columns 3, 4 and 5. Column 5 will no longer be there and the right third of the widget will be cut off. If you try to move or delete it, the launcher will force close.
If you forget and do it anyway, not a problem. Reboot back to recovery, flash the old grid size you had and reboot. Move the widgets/icons then flash the smaller grid.

I'm running these on a deodexed stock rom. They have been reported in fgr's original thread as working with odexed roms. Make a backup before trying. I'll update the OP with these instructions.

I did create just that. I tested it also. It's working 100%. Do you have wanam xposed installed? Check and see if you have scrolling wallpaper enabled. That will certainly override the XML edits. Also make sure you downloaded the correct one. The one you want is the 3rd one down the list under "Sprint TouchWiz Screens".
I've put the link here for you to make it easier.
here's a video proving it works:

That is not what you asked for. In fact you didn't specify which one you wanted at all so I assumed you meant the one being discussed right before your post.
I'll try to get to it as soon as I can.

I seriously doubt it. The XML changes drastically with the TouchWiz screen between releases. In fact redoing fgr's work really wasn't just as simple as copying it to MJA. I literally had to redo the code. I'd make a backup first.

What's up with the weird box on the weather widget? Is there a fix?

What launcher is this?

I'm sure most people know, but i havent figured out which launcher this is.

I'm not interested in the minimalistic text widgets, just the bar on the bottom. Which launcher is it?
I'm thinking launcher pro. the icons are custom though.

It's Myn Warm TwoPointTwo Themed launcher Pro
All you have to do is:
1. Open up your favorite grapics editor/creator
2. Make an image 480x185
3. Make it look however you want, with text or anything, spaced out keeping the 5 icons spacing in mind
4. Use it as your dock background (with ADW Launcher or Launcher Pro), and setup blank icon image files for the icons for the shortcuts
That's how I made this: http://i.imgur.com/qdI0G.jpg

Yeah I don't run it with the bar on the bottom, it was just a screenshot I had because someone wanted to see what it looked like. The bar on the bottom looks weird and trips me out too much to use.

Changing the icons in the app drawer?

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone knows of an app which can change the icons in the app drawer? I've tried many apps but all they do is change the home screen icons. Any help on how to do this would be very much appreciated.
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda premium
This function may be possible by switching to a different launcher, but I do not know which launcher would be capable of doing this. Usually the images in the drawer are read directly from the apk, and the apps which change the icons on the home screen can get around this by making a widget with the specified icon, which points to the application.
If there are only a few applications you want changed, it is possible to change them the hard way, by extracting the apk, changing the icon in the "/res/drawable-?dpi" folder, and then installing the new application by hand. (It will no longer be signed, so you will have to go to allow this in Settings > Applications > Unknown sources)
I don't think any launchers are capable of changing app drawer icons. Looks like I may have to do it the hard way

You can use go launcher which has option to change icons.. All U need is an icon pack..

Launcher pro can change app drawer icons,as can adw launcher. Just get an icon pack...or better still, make one. It's easier with launcher pro.

I'm using adw launcher and it can't change the icons. I have a really cool icon pack, and it changes the icons... but not all of them.. so everything doesn't match. On adw you can't manually change the icons of an individual app. I'll give launcher pro a go

Try LiveHome. With this launcher, you can manually change the icon and also label name of any app in appdrawer.

When i press long a Icon in the Drawer this comes direct on my Desktop, no Options , the Options are only at the Desktop!
Why ??
Nova launcher just got an update, now to change an app drawer icon (to a picture from gallery and hence a uzip, or from an apk) long press on the app icon in the draw. Drag it to the edit symbol. Click the app icon in the edit popup. Choose icon as desired!

How to take ss on Jellywiz?

I tried my best to figure it out myself and searched for it but I'm too much of a Noob at this. Btw I tried the palm swipe and it didn't work.
Also any way to run a 5x5 grid on this?
Sent from my SGH-I535 using xda app-developers app
The default hardware key combo for screenshots is to hold down the home and power buttons together for a couple seconds.
As for the 5x5 grid, just download a third-party launcher from the Google Play Store.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
If you want a 5x5 TouchWiz launcher, I recall seeing some modded versions of TouchWiz over at the GT-I9300 forums. Just an FYI though, widget scaling gets all screwed up when you use those. Been having the same problem with the 4x5 on Synergy.

[Q] The only problem with nova launcher.

I recently rooted and flashed liquid smooth onto my galaxy s3. Before I rooted it I had custom icons that took up the entire 1x1 grid on nova launcher prime. Now that I have flashed a custom rom my icons are a lot smaller. I'd like to know how to make the icons bigger that take up the whole 1x1 grid. Also when I go into the menu, whenever I press the icon size button, nova launcher immediately crashes. Any help with this situation would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
This picture I uploaded is how the icons look now.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda premium
You can change the icon size by going to nova settings/look and feel/ then icon size.
But as I've stated above it crashes on me every time. Would anyone know how to bypass this?
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda premium
Did you restore nova via a back up? Glitches can develop in apps when restoring them to a new rom. It's best to reinstall and set up from scratch.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747
Thanks for the quick reply! I did not restore from a back up because I forgot haha but I was successful in remaking the theme other than the icon size. I would reinstall nova launcher but when I go to the app store or app manager it doesn't give me the option to uninstall

LiquidSmooth comes with Nova as it's launcher. So to uninstall, you will need to install a different launcher as a temp, then using a root level file browser, delete the Nova Launcher apk file. Should be good to install it from Play store and continue from there.

beautiful icon styler app - any icon pack on stock launcher

beautiful icon styler (find it on play store)
this app can use custom icon packs on a stock launcher...
i tried the free version with dcikonz icon pack and it worked (sort of) - it changed the icons on the desktop although i think you'll need the full version of the app for icons to change in the app drawer as well...
nevertheless - this is a good step up
