After v charging my phone and unplugging the charger it makes a buzzing noise as if there's still electricity running through it. Is this normal? My phone charges fine but I wanted to make sure the charger was safe and not an issue. My battery seems like it goes down fast too though I might be imagining it because I think the b first 2 days it was great and lasted me all day after a full charge.

Nothing to worry about. This topic was brought up in an old Nexus 4 thread and the overall consensus was that it wasn't a big deal. My N4 charger did the same thing. If I never randomly saw that thread. I probably never would have put my ear up to the charger to discover such a thing. I'll have to seashell this new one and see or listen rather to what happens.
The charger is a tansfomer so it will buzz naturally

Unplug the charger from the wall to avoid wasting power. It's in the manual.

Alright thanks. I just wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with it and that it wouldn't ruin my battery

Well I think my Infuse is now a goner.
Initially had charging problems, brought it into ATT and they noted corrosion and blamed it on me, warranty voided and I was SOL.
Purchased a replacement charging port and found out that the damn thing is soldered on. Well I attempted it and accidentally lifted the solder pads.
wanna sell it? or you can try to do the touchstone mod. i pulled mine apart to see how hard it would be to do and it doesnt look to difficult. i would've done it to mine but my infuse is only a couple weeks old. just google touchstone mod if you havent heard of it. but you wont be able to send data you can only use it to charge it wirelessly.
Poor you
I bought an extra pair of batteries along with a will charger, I haven't used the charging port in months. Something you might want to consider.

But still that's going to be a hassle because you would have to chharge each battery at night and the batteries might not even last long

On Ebay battery charger plus 2 1900 mah batteries for $15ish, which 1900mah is supposed to last longer than stock something you may want to look into, also if you do get your charger port working again then you can charge one via the battery dock and charge the one that's in your phone at the same time (it has USB port on bottom of battery dock) a also its smart charging so it doesn't ruin the battery if you leave it on there all the time

They're 1900mAh batteries, lasts me 19 hours on average. I'm sure it's more of a hassle to have your phone plugged into a wall than it is to leave a battery in the wall.

Im not really sure why, but on my old infuse my phobe wouldnt charge anymore so if charge my batterys off my dads infuse. And i was for sure it was a hardware problem. Then wen my dad upgraded phones a month later he give me his old and i was going to return my old infuse back to ebay. But somehow i fixed it b4 we returned it. Iv tryed changing roms and whiped that phone like no other then randomly after i factory reset on a custum rom it fixed it self.. idk how it fixed it self but it happend. So its possible its a software issue
Not a hassle at all. I rotate between 3 batteries, I haven't plugged my phone in in over two months... I don't see that as a hassle. All I do is power down my phone once a day to swap batteries, nothing like going from 5% to 100% in a battery of minutes. I use to stress about battery life, but that hasn't been an issue since. Its probably become what I brag most about to iphone users.

What about us users that have a nice protective case on it? I use a casemate that has 2 layers of protection, and would be a pain in the butt to remove everyday. And if you use an Otterbox case, those things are damn near impossible to get off without a struggle.
Obviously if you lock up your phone like Fort Knox then this method is not for you. I have a case mate case and I have no issue taking it off once a day, far less troubling than keeping it plugged in hours everyday whilst trying to use it.

I'm not worried about it. I have a car charger if I need to charge while out. I'll be damned if I'm going to open my case every day. If it floats your boat, go for it.
I'm currently running Sean's latest leak/update and have noticed significant battery drain despite being plugged into the charger. I never really paid enough attention while on gb roms, so I'm not sure if this is an ics thing or not. My buddy at work has had similar issues and is completely bone stock, so I'm thinking it's just a skyrocket issue.
Anybody else notice this? It happens no matter what I'm doing on the phone and is obviously more noticeable when playing games. It seems to me that the charger should at least compensate for the usage!
It had me so baffled, I've re-flashed multiple times now with the same results.

Yeah... it's 5v/1a. Same with my buddy. I thought that might be the problem, and I had switched it with an old one, but don't think so. I've used the powerskin in the past, and it's also 5v/1a... still drains with it.
I'm totally puzzled! I've changed chargers, gone with/without the powerskin, re-flashed roms, calibrated the battery and who knows what else. Only thing I hadn't done was replace the battery, but now that my buddy is having issues on stock, I don't know if that's the problem or not....

Its probably the battery while charging check if in about phone it says its conncted to ac.
Also are you rooted?
Could also be the cable. I have had the exact issue, replaced the cable and now its fine. Its funny cause the galaxy s2 is far more picky when it comes to chargers/cables. For instance. I can plug it in and the phone won't do a think, yet when I plug it in the skyrocket it will accept the connection.

I've tried diff cable/charger combos... no luck. I had cable issues with my epic (sprint) and knew Samsung had issues with them in the past, so that was one of the first things that came to mind... no dice though!

Test your receptacle with a digital multi meter . The stock charger works great. Enough so
That i spliced 3 high quality usb cable and have over a ten foot cable which charges just fine.
So its possible. U have a bad charger. Crap cables. Or overdrawn circuit whith your receptacles. No enough to trip but enough your charger cant pull 1 amp

I did a 1.5 hour Skype video while on charge and my battery never charged it held at the same percentage. Anything else I do charging outweighs my use. Gotta be the charger or the phone itself. Even if you have no battery in it should still boot off the charger and run correct?

Use any type of root explorer, while charging got to sys/class/power supply/battery
and open batt_current_xxx or something like this, I'll check it later if you get into troubles, breaking my head now with tasker at the moment. It should show a value around 8500, at least that's what it shows for me.
I'm having the same issue on Sean's latest update, my battery current adc file says 2934... I posted this in the sky ics thread
"I've been having some battery issues since coming to this ROM on update six. I'm on nine now and all is well, battery life included once I get it charged up. I'm using OEM Samsung everything, charging block, two different cables, my original battery and a 2100Mah extended for the Gnex. All Samsung, no change between them. This thing just REFUSES to charge if I'm using it while plugged in, and if I leave it alone and let it charge, it takes absolutely forever to charge either battery. The skyrocket battery won't gain one percent charge if I'm using it while plugged in, and the Gnex battery actually discharges slowly! Any ideas? I bought this phone from a member on here and it came with superlite 5 and I don't recall it having this problem."
If the file reading is that low there must be an issue with the amp, if you tried a different charger and cables and it happened since changing roms I'd say its a pure software issue. Maybe you should try flashing a different kernel before trying to change your rom, the problem may be laying there.
I had the same issue but mine was related to the usb cable. With a new micro usb cable my phone charges without issue.

So one day, I was left at my friend's house without my normal, Sidekick Charger.
My friend had an HTC Sense charger and it seemed to fit my Sidekick, and without thinking twice, I used it for the night.
My phone charged ti 100% and I unplugged it and used it throughout the next day.
It died and I tried charging it with my normal charger and it would randomly stop charging and continue charging and then stop and repeat.
It's gotten worse the past week to the point I can only charge it halfway at night.
I'm running on the new GOV32 if that helps.
And I'm using the normal Samsung charger. And my phone is only about a year and a half old.
So my question is, what's causing the problem? The phone itself, the charger, or the battery?
I'd like to know.. cause school is coming soon and I don't wanna be that loser not using an Android.. Especially in a technology academy!
Chargers have given me this problem before. Get a new one, worth the piece of mind and investment its relatively cheap as well.

Weird. Take out the battery and hold the power button for 10 seconds and try it again. (This is known as power draining)

Was just wondering what chargers are you guys using? Im gonna be getting my nexus 4 right after christmas. (Stupid backorder)
I'm using the LG one and it works great. The beep really isn't nearly as loud as everyone exaggerated.... but if it bothers you I hear removing it is really easy and there's instructions in one of the threads on how to do it.

Someone in another thread mentioned that it charges to 100%, then it disconnects until the battery hits 90% or so before it starts charging again. They mentioned they leave it on the charger overnight, and in the morning it'll say it's been on battery for 3 hours and at a 90% charge.
Does it do this to you? Or do you find it charged up to 100%?

The other day I did wake up to my phone at 96% and it said it had been off for 5 hours. But today I woke up to it at 100%. I wouldn't doubt that it stops charging at 100% and then recharges back up at 96%, though I don't believe it drops as low as 90%. I've read many things in the past about people saying phones do stop charging at 96% because it's healthier for battery life and that the last 4% are cosmetic. Don't hold me to that though =P

My N4 is on backorder for about 4 weeks. I hope google announces that wireless charging orb by then.
I bought both the LG and the Energizer single-position. Haven't had the problems that other people have mentioned with the LG unit beeping more than once (when I first put the phone down and it starts charging), even when left on overnight and after the battery is full.
The Energizer is bigger all around than the LG and is much more sensitive about getting the phone in the right spot - and since it doesn't beep, you have to just watch for the blue LED (which is bright as heck in the dark; I put a piece of tint over it).
Ended up taking the Energizer to work, and I've got an LG next to the bed and another in my home office. As far as actually charging, both models work fine and I've not done any testing on speed, etc.
Is this what you guys are using?

Yes, the LG WCP-700. Looks like the prices have gone up to $50 from the $35 I paid just a week ago.

I'm using a Energizer single charger. Love that it doesn't make a single sound. Quiet as a mouse.
So far it's charging well.

Just wanted to report my experience with battery life which seemed to be degrading over time and not really reaching 100% every time anymore. I did the usual tricks to get the battery to charge fully like pulling the battery when the phone is still plugged in, but had to do it every couple of days because the battery would max out at about 80%. Bought a new charger off newegg (Samsung oem), problem solved. Charges faster than ever, and holds a charge better too. The old charger is the one that came with the phone.
On a related note, I first bought the new charger from Amazon, but returned it because it turned out to be a fake. Read the Amazon reviews, I'm surprised they still sell it after so many complaints. Newegg is the way to go for this one.

Its been established many times that our phone doesn't like many chargers other than our cube. Whether it was a difference in power output or something else I can't recall as for your issue it sounds like a wake lock of some sort may have been created with said charger that would cause a faster than normal discharge rate causing the charger to be unable to charge past 80% the effect could also be that the output of the charger was not 1amp and the phone couldn't get what it needed in the time you allotted. Really I can't say exactly what the issue is in your case but if you had searched you would see much of this has in fact been documented.

If you actually read my post, you'll know that the new charger is the cube, that is what I meant by OEM. I posted this so other users can consider buying a new charger if they've tried everything else and failed. No need to do the "search and you would have found out" response for this post, cause no question was asked, I was merely sharing my experience.
