Hello I have my Nvidia Shield coming on its way from Amazon, I am a Uk user so i have had to import

I ask here because it seems this is a dedicated gaming section for android, I wanna ask the community what's the best Android emulators available
I know the best PSX emulator is FPSE but i wanna know whats the best emulators i can try out
I am in search for the best emulators with best compatibility/performance/features guess am after the all in one kinda like FPSE is like
I am in search for

Gameboy
i have tryed loads in the past from unknown sources that have been garbage aswell as loads from google play store, guess am after gamers opinions on there fav emulators they can recommend for me to try
hope to hear from you all soon

Snes9x EX+ is free and the best SNES one i have run works perfect on the shield. the other EMUs by Robert Broglia were recommend to me too they cost around $2 each.

These are the emulators I have on my Shield.
N64 = Mupen 64Plus (free)
GBA = My Boy (Paid)
SNES = SuperGNES (has both paid and free apps)
MAME = MAME4droid (free)
Sega Genesis = RetroArch (free but no longer in Google Play, also can emulate numerous other consoles)
Nintendo DS = Drastic (paid)
Playstation = FPse (paid)
Sony PSP = PPSSPP (free)

RetroArch basically does them all.

Yup, I use Retroarch.

nes or snes emulator

does anyone know of a nes or snes emulator that works on the fuze. I have tried pocketnesterplus but it failed to load a game, this worked on my 8525. I dont know if it is the difference between qvga and vga screens. any ideas would be helpful.
For SNES, look up Nop's SNES. It's the only one that works well, but still it's only half speed at best.
For NES - I use Smartgear, but you have to pay $10 to play unlimited. It also happens to be the best Turbografx emulator - which is why I pay for it.

good read
Does smartgear lwt you use the keyboard as the controls? i am having trouble setting up the controls.

[POLL]Who uses game system emulators on their phone?

I am only using Johns gbc emulator. Any other good ones out there?

I use GameBoid (GBA) and FPse (PS1) emulators. GameBoid is not on the market anyone (no clue why) but I still like it the best. FPse is $4USD. When you use these, you need to get a hold of the BIOS files (obviously) and the actual game files. Anyone know of any good sites to get roms for either PS1 or GBA? Thanks.
Only time I used an emulator was when I jailbroke my iPhone for the very first time back in 2008. It was great for about a month, but I noticed that my phone was running slower and not performing as good as it used to.
Haven't had an emulator ever since.
I'm using SuperGNES on my skyrocket. All the game ROMs i found have played flawlessly. The only thing is getting the controls layed out so that my mitts actually hit the correct buttons lol

Try CoolRom.com They had a ton of ROMS for games I thought I would have no chance in hell in finding.
Thanks for the replies guys

I use GBCoid (Gameboy/Gameboy Color), turn based RPGs like Pokemon work rather well with it. Anything more complex becomes an exercise in frustration though, so I dont bother with other genres.
only gameboid and fpse tried n64 one way too many buttons
I use vNESlight and Blue Tomato (Sega emulator) on my WP7 device...
I use anDosBox to play old DOS games on my Android phone.
I use gameboid for gameboy advance games and FPse for playstation 1 games.
I tried the NES Emulator
For PS1 games I use Xperia Play, umad? jk. I'd like to use mupen64plus Xperia Play version but I can't afford it from my country so I count on N64oid for N64 games. For GameBoy, Gameboid. If you don't have the Xperia Play you can use FPSe.

I use Droidemulite and you can actually use different system roms on it. I have my wiimote connected to it and its really good. I play it on my HP touch pad so I have a nice big screen to play on. Oh the emulator app is free by the way.
I can (and do) play almost every game on my HTC Vision.
Only games I can't faithfully recreate is 2D fighters
snes........
SuperGNES Lite
my Nokia n9 has an emulator that has nes, snes, gba, psx, amiga, and pico all in one. Its the best mobile emulator I've ever seen.
Gameboid to play RPGs like Mother 3 which is free in the SlideME Market http://slideme.org/application/gameboid
FPSE for some random gaming here and there. Playing Monster Rancher Card Battle II currently
$3.99 in Android Market https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.emulator.fpse&hl=en
MAME4droid Reloaded (0.139) to play random arcade games
Free in Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zZWxldWNvLm1hbWU0ZHJvaWQiXQ..
I love playing pokemon red on my Evo 3D. Sometimes I wish I had a keyboard so I could play faster-paced games.. Sometimes you lose where the joypad is on a touchscreen.
I tried out a few emulators back when I was using my Milestone.
I had Gameboid and the other *oid ones for nes and snes I think.
I used them with a wiimote for that authentic dpad and buttons feeling even though my phone had a keyboard.
It was a little bit awkward though, with the controller and the phone not being physically connected. It made me nervous balancing my phone on my knee while holding the wiimote with both hands, so I ended up going back to my DS and PSP for most of those kind of games and only playing actual android games on my phone.

Any games like oblivion or Diablo?

Perferbally 2D since my phone is not the moat powerful, but 3d is fine too. Also classic games (gba, SMEs, etc) are welcome too. Thanks!

Hey thanks for the quick reply, but yeah I've tried zenonia2, put a good dozen or so hours into that before I realized that it was a bit too repeitive for me haha. I guess i'll try the newer zenonia 4 but with the pay2win model gamevil put into that I'm not even Sure if I will enjoy it hahaha

If you have a tegra 2/3 device try soulcraft thd (might work on non tegra devices now though. Great graphics, still in beta I think).

Soulcraft is not optimized for anything really.. On my One X and it lags constantly. You play for 30 seconds, and you're done with a map, and then there's the loading screen. Honestly, you look at the loading screen way more often than actually playing the game.
Avadon: The Black Fortress was released as part of the Humble Bundle, just requires a 1280x800 or higher resolution screen.
Not sure if it would be too resource intensive, but I'd recommend Dungeon Hunter. Playing the first few quests really resparked some Diablo nostalgia.
Haha I had the lite version on my iPod touch a while back, damn that was fun . I did not know that it was on Android!

If you are after classic games then download the emulators for the play store;
'Gameboy Colour A.D.' = Gameboy/Gameboy Colour emulator and is (free)
'GenPlusDroid' = Genesis/Mega Drive, Game Gear and Master System emulator (free and paid versions)
'SuperGNES' = Snes emulator (free and paid versions)
'Mojo NES' = Nes emulator (free and paid versions)
'N64 Emulator' = As title (free)
'PSX Emulator' = Playstation One emulator (free and paid versions / 'FPse for android' is better but only paid)
'Marvin - ZX Spectrum Emulator' = As description (free)
'CPS2HD Emulator' = Capcom emulator (paid only)
There are of course many others and alternatives to the ones mentioned above but thought these were worth mentioning as many have free versions to play with.
I haven't had the time to test it toroughly, but you might want to look into Delver: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5pbnRlcnJ1cHQuZHVuZ2VvbmVlciJd

I've really wanted to play gba and Snes games so I downloaded gameboid and Snes9x and Snes9x works perfectly without a hitch but on gameboid I get some bad sound glitchyness which annoys the hell outta me, which makes no sense as snes is a harder console to emulate than gba
Sent from my HTC T328w using Tapatalk 2
Yeah, SuperGNES, AFAIK, is only free if you don't want/need to save. If you want to save you have to pay. Snes9x EX is free and based on the free, open source Snes9x (SuperGNES is optimized for Android, so it may be faster on some devices).
SNES harder to emulate than GBA? It's a decade older, more or less. You may be right, but it's not logical.
GameBoid runs fine on my phone, but I have a pretty solid device. I wouldn't play anything requiring quick fingers, though. Not with touch screen controls. What you want to do about that is, get a PS3 controller (about $30-$40 shipped on Newegg) and Bluetooth pair it to your phone. There's an app (Sixaxis) for getting it to work with games.
I wouldn't expect anything like Oblivion to come out for Android, but I'd love to see something like Torchlight. (To hell with Activision and Diablo.)
Oh, there are a few Nethack clones on Android, but I'm sure you don't want that pain. Nethack is the ASCII-graphics game the original Diablo is more or less based on (random dungeons, dungeons with random monsters and loot) but it is notoriously hard.

Neo Geo, CPS2, CPS...which are best?

Which emulators are best for:
Neo Geo
CPS2
CPS
I don't mind separate emulators.
All I want is emulators with good compatibility, runs smooth and SAVE STATES.
on my opinion , cps2 is #1 . you can easily save your games and set H/w button
Link?

Neo Geo: Neo.Emu (paid app)
CPS2: CPSemu (free app)
CPS: Not sure but I use tiger arcade (free) to play the original CPS and CPS3, too bad the CPS2 emulation sucks though
I know its not on your list but in my opinion the best application is Tiger Arcade. It plays neogeo cps1 cps2 perfectly on my phone.

Thanks for the list pokemanz. That's the way I'm set up at the moment.
jgregoryj1 - I agree, it's great. But do you know if I can still purchase it via the app? I don't want to waste my money if Tiger King is MIA.
Tiger Arcade plays cps2 perfectly for me
Sent from my 64gb Xperia Play
Tiger doesnt find my games any more
