Hey, I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but whenever I go to HDR+ Mode on my Nexus 5, I'm seeing vertical lines that vary in brightness going across my screen, the picture seems to come out fine but I want to make sure my camera isn't damaged. Is this a defect or supposed to happen?
My hdr camera looks exactly the same as the non hdr camera setting. I cannot see any vertical lines

That's strange, I'm definitely noticing lines moving across my screen... but on normal mode it functions like it should. I think I might contact google to see if they know anything about it.

Hey, how's it going everyone? I am new to these forums, and I have attempted to do some searching around, but I have yet to find a true answer to this problem. So, I love my Samsung Infuse. I just got it roughly a week ago, and I am basically switching from my iPhone 4. An issue that I am having is that I want to be able to take pictures in portrait mode and landscape mode, but the camera doesn't seem to be designed to take pictures in portrait mode, as every picture I take like that, the picture always comes out at some 90 degree angle. Is there any way to really fix this, so that I can take pictures in both modes? Maybe a handy application that I haven't seen in the market? I just want to be able to turn the phone one way and take a picture, which I don't understand why it isn't implemented in the first place. If anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
I am not sure if this will help what you are trying to do or if you already tried it. There is a turnwheel kind of icon on 1 of the corners when the camera application is turned on.if you click that, there is a option for scene mode. if you click on that, you will get various options inside. 1 of them is portrait. hope this helps.
^ i dont think that is what the op means.
op you ar eright the previews dont detect the phones prientation, but they show correctly in the gallary so the phone is detecting the orientation. if they are 90deg off when pulled to the computer then it would seem there is a bug in the orientation, i havent tried copying to my computer, nor sure is there is an issue beyond the previews only displaying in landscape mode.
Hi all. Recently I have discovered something that irks me a lot. When I start taking videos on my Nexus 5, where I record a video as usual, it runs on several seconds as usual. As I tap the red button to stop and save it, it never saves.
I remembered this started happening when I was taking a rather long video with it. After around 5 minutes it automatically stopped and displayed that grey floating message that fades away too quick I couldn't read it in time, but it's something like "size limit xxx". Since then I can no longer save the videos I record. But thankfully, photographing is normal.
Any ideas I can fix this?
Stock Nexus 5 rooted with franco.kernel
Can anyone help me with this?? My phone's video recording function won't ever work if that continues...
I secund this I need a fix as well

There is a limit (2GB?). Try an aosp rom. Maybe that's different

I decided to open this thread due to the fact that the Galaxy s7 Edge Always on Display does not recognize/rotate in landscape mode when the screen is off.
For some it may not matter. For others it will. For me it matters.
Now I was able to achieve landscape mode on my Lockscreen
Adding these two lines to build.prop:
log.tag.launcher_force_rotate=VERBOSE
lockscreen.rot_override=true
Also I achieved Landscape on my launcher with Nova Launcher, then in settings, look and feel I enabled auto rotate.
As for the always on Display I have not been able to find any information.
If anyone has any information on the subject it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Not sure just yet. This method does not work with touchwiz unfortunately.
At one point I could rotate my display in any direction (even upside down) and always on display, as well as touchwiz, would rotate. For some reason that no longer works. I guess a bug gave me what I wanted for a bit. The camera app can be used upside down and you can temporarily use the phone upside down after closing the camera app but it doesn't seem to effect Always On Diaplay. I want to use my phone as an alarm clock on a stand, preferably in landscape so this is a disappointment.

I'm sure all in due time and if we all spread the word and gain interest we can make this happen. Just have to figure out the proper resources and direction to take to remedy the issue.
Would be nice if samsung just enabled rotation support for always on display and Lockscreen.
I'm using
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.fameit.rotate
For autorotate. Works for touchwiz and lockscreen.
Unfortunately not for Always on screen

Me too. Used this app in the past with my s3/s4 and my first mirrorlink radio
Under display turn Always on off and try turning on night clock I like it better than always on
the night clock is to dark at daylight
I've developed an android app for bringing Always On to all android devices with AMOLED screens. It's called "Always On: Ambient Clock" . And it does support landscape mode.
I can't post a link now since I have only 5 posts but you can search for it on Play Store.
Needs the ability for everything being displayed to move random after about a minute. For it to stay stationary is not good for the display.
Also it prevents the wave to wake feature from working on samsung devices.
Needs some work.

Hi, I just pushed an update for fixing burn-in issue.
I don't think it's possible to add the wave to unlock feature as the proximity sensor is used to detect if the device is in pocket or flipped.

I think if you set a slight delay for in pocket detection may help. Or make it less sensitive, it goes black if I just hover my hand over the screen. Should be a delay or less chance of accidently enabling it.
Samsung has it on the s7 edge that you can have pocket detection and wave to wake.
Must be a way around it.
What is the font of the Samsung default clock?
Thanks in advance
Figured out a workaround.
I realize this post is almost a year old but I have discovered a workaround, at least for the Photo Frame option of the Always On Display. If you make a separate album in your photo gallery with your pictures ROTATED to landscape orientation, and then assign that specific album, it will work.
nice app - just installed it -anyone know if the battery usage / screen burnin issues on this are better / worse than the s8 always-on?
I really appreciate the landscape - hate in the middle of the night the night to see it sideways
Found a way if your rooted

If you are rooted and have Xposed installer go ahead and get gravity box and enable lock screen rotation it should work it worked for me on my Galaxy S6
Hi everyone,
I'm facing an issue with burst shooting.
When I burst-shoot photos in mid to low light conditions using the HTC stock camera app, I can see that most of the photos (except the first 3-5 photos) are filled with colorful noise all over them...
I'm using an EMEA HTC U11 128GB model with 1.27.401.5 software and camera app v9.20.9740975.
Am I the only one that facing this issue?
Please refer to the attachments to see the problem yourself.
Left image is the third burst-shot and looks OK.
Right image is the fifth burst-shot and looks very grainy (all the burst shots from the 5th and on look like that)
There is nothing wrong with it. Burst mode does not have the noise reduction algorithms which are available in hdr auto mode. Therefore these shots are perfectly normal in bad light conditions. Mine does the same.

When I capture burst shots on the ported google camera app, all photos are looking just fine without all that densed noise so I think you are wrong. You can try it yourself.
Something is very wrong with this feature on stock camera app on my side, I'm sure that it doesn't need to look like that at all.
I see a clear difference between the 3 to 5 first shots and all the rest, it's like they were taken by a different sensor!
I thought you were asking if your phone has a problem or not, so I answered according to what I understood.
It's how the stock camera app is. It needs some updates to fix these issues, there is nothing we can do about it except waiting.
I do believe that google camera is superior to stock app with good settings in almost every condition therefore I use google camera.

Thanks for the clarification.
Meanwhile I will continue to use burst captures only on Google Camera app.
Hope that HTC knows about this issue and trying to fix this as we speak. :fingers-crossed:
It's not happening because of the lamps above, it happens on natural lighting too. It happens when camera focuses to a new area where the lighting level is different. Is this a defect, or is it the same for everyone ?
Here are 2 example videos:
It's really weird because it doesn't happen on the photo mode or on other apps when i'm taking a video, it only happens in the camera app video section. It happens on auto fps mode too. I tried taking videos with other phones on the same condition, and they just focus normally without that weird flicker. Is this a software issue or is my camera defective ?
Would be happy if y'all can help, thank you.

Already a Thread here:
Video Flickering at 60fps
Anyone else notice this? I did find a small thread on Samsung.com so not sure if its a hardware issue or if all of them have it. -...
forum.xda-developers.com
@hyelton check this, the exact same problem. Hope it's not a hardware problem and they fix it with an update
Yep same issue here. Glad I'm not the only one to notice the issue

Do you think it's a software problem ? Wish other people checked this and reported here too. Did you report it to Samsung ?
Does it happen if the camera is held in the proper orientation, i.e. landscape? Portrait mode should never be used for video capture. Hopefully in the future *all* phones will properly capture video in landscape mode regardless if the user holds it vertically or not!

What about a different camera app? I use Filmic Pro and have never seen this.
If I did, it would definitely raise cause for alarm!

Orientation and auto fps doesn't matter, it still happens. My post also says it doesn't happen on other apps.
I'm so happy to say that May update I just received (S908EXXU2AVDA) fixed this problem. Can you check if it's fixed for you too ? @hyelton I tried every specific condition that it flickered before and it doesn't flicker anymore, made me happy that it wasn't a hardware problem and they were aware of the issue.
Does it happen with adaptive refresh rate?
Because some apps flicker when this is turned on.

No, it was happening on 60fps video shooting, it's not about 120hz. It got fixed with the May update.
