Installation Guide - Dualboot
1. Download it and rename it as update.zip
2. Copy it to root folder of your Phone
3. Open the updater app
4. Press menu button and then "Choose file"
5. Then select install update.zip

1. Download it and rename it as update.zip

4. Wipe Data/Factory Reset (SD Card will not be formated!)

I think that you need to flash miui rom, and after install the recovery ask to you if you want to flash the Mirecovery
@thebrainkafka I try to enable the TDB, but the recovery don't ask to me if i want to split the data!! In this way I have one data for two ROM and the system app like clock, browser give me an FC on the first ROM

Not working on my mi 4
It fails to install on my mi4. i have renamed it update.zip on the root of the mi 4. if i select it via the updater app it says update failed error and the same on the stock recovery.

If you're having issues with the new R11 then I suggest you flash R8. It's been working fine for me.

You can use an app as flashify or rashr,
Before you have to extract the recovery.img from the zip file and put it in your sdcard.

I was also unable to install it earlier but now I found a tutorial on that.
Easily Flash Custom Recovery in Xiaomi Mi4
After doing the steps mentioned in that post I was able to flash custom Roms and was also able to make backups using CWM.

Of course not - its a themed cm7
@NajuAynr - you must also provide the link to bieltv3 cm7 kernel thread which contains the source code else this thread will be closed for breaking the kernel rules
You also need to state it's a themed rom and by looks of it its based on bieltv3 cm7 so provide link to that thread & give credits

I think U must change your thread title into , custom Rom.. This not a real guide "how to install lolipop" right? [emoji3]

Note: this rom has a gapps package in the flasher witch means the flasher intalls to os first with no gapps, then it access a folder named "gapps" to flash the package next so you dont have to, its a minimal package and we did it like that so it dowsnt infinge googles terms with Cyanogenmod.

Using TWRP?
Reboot into your Recovery by holding the vol up and holding it while turning the phone on.
Step 1: go to the tab called "Wipe" and click Manual Wipe
Step 2: format the folliwing partitions
* /cache
* /data
* /system
* Dalvik-Cache
Step 3: go to the tab called "Install" and pick the storage unit you have this rom placed in and click the zip
Step 4: once you clicked the the rom slide the bar to the right to accept install and the rom will install
Step 5: once it says done click the "Reboot System" tab and done setup your phone after it boots
Using CWM OR CWM TOUCH?
Instructions:
Step 1: reboot into your recovery by pressing and holding the vol up button while turning the phone on
Step 2: niw your in recovery go to "Mounts & Storage" and format the following partitions

Flashing MiPad to MIUI Developer Using TWRP :
1. First of all , its better to back up all data and apps on your MiPad
2. You must install/flash TWRP by juliusssss on your MiPad, if not ? Refer here for instructions and flashing guide of TWRP Recovery.
3. Install UC Browser from here .
4. Download the latest version of MIUI DEVELOPER ROM from MIUI Official ROM for MiPad using UC Browser tabbing on Download Full ROM to be downloaded according to the below photo :

You need to download Gapps because of Developer ROM has MIUI App Store in Chinese language instead of Google Play Store , that's why you need download it from here for searching/Installing Apps on your MiPad in English ( scroll down, the download button as "Begin Download" is in the down of the page), this ZIP file also needs to be flashed on your MiPad. ( Memorize the directories of downloaded files,/sdcard/UCDownloads)
6. Now , all initial parameters are done , we are ready to flash MIUI DEVELOPER ROM AND GAPPS , First of all , turn off your device
7. Keep pressing and holding VOLUME UP AND POWER BUTTONS together
8. Releasing them until TWRP Recovery appears on the MiPad Screen
9. Tab on the "Wipe"
10. Tab on the "Advanced Wipe"
11. Cross/Mark "Dalvik Cache and Cache ONLY" by tapping on them and "Swipe to Wipe"
Warning : Don't Cross/Mark anything else , it damages or removes your data
12. Tab on the "Back" until to see the next photo and tab on "Install"
13. if the directory of files/folders is "/sdcard" , don't change it ,
If it is in "/" ,scroll down and find/tab on "sdcard"
If it is in "/sdcard/<another folder>" tab on "(Up A Level)" to return to "/sdcard"
14. Now ,you are in "/sdcard" directory , scroll down and find "UCDOWNLOADS" and tab/select it.
15. You must find the MIUI Developer ROM Which in the form MIUI_MOCHA_<ROM VERSION>_<CODE>_<ANDROID VERSION>.ZIP in /sdcard/UCDownloads,tab/select it.
"Notice : /sdcard is sdcard0 or Internal Memory or Phone in-built Memory"
16. MIUI Developer ROM has been selected and added for flashing , now GApps must be added for flashing which was downloaded in stage 5 , for doing that ,tab/select "Add more Zips"
17. Find and tab/select "GApps" which is pa_gapps-modular-pico-4.4.4-20150410-signed.zip .( if you downloaded using UCBrowser, it is in UCdownlods folder itself)
18. Two files were prepared to be flashed , "Swipe to Confirm Flash" to flash... And processing ...
19. You see the Successful on the middle of screen , Tab/Select "Wipe Cache/Dalvik" then "Swipe to Wipe"
20. Tab/Select "Reboot to System" .
21. Finish A white progress bar will be appeared after rebooting ...wait to finish and enjoy MIUI DEVELOPER ROM

Hello sir,,
I am using Alcatel OT idol x+(TCL S960).
Everytime when i flashed the miui rom in my device with TWRP. It installed successfully.
But in file manager its showing 6.09 mb available only and at the same time in setting>storage its showing 4GB available.
Even its. Showing music libraray and gallary empty. I cant even take any image from camera.
I tried all the latest version which was available on their time.
5.5.19 & 5.5.22 & 5.5.29
All the versions hve the same problem.
I tried wipe internal storage also.
But its not worth it.

Root is not needed. Just follow the installation's steps, this rom is the easiest to install!
