Wake up lan through splashtop - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi! I am just wondering if someone know how I can wake up my computer by using Splashtop app through 3G or other wifi network.
I have successfully wakening up my computer by being at the same wifi with my computer (lan), but it wont work when I connect my tf300 through 3G or other networks. I have also been able to forward my ports so I can remote my computer through 3G or other networks.
So do anyone know how I can wake my computer through other networks?
instead i've been downgrading to splashtop v1 coz in v2 it wont work.

Go into the splashtop streamer settings to advanced settings and all the port info should be there, make sure that ip address and port is used for the port forwarding

Perform port forwarding (both TCP/UDP for ports 6783~6785, and ports 7, 9) for your Streamer on your home router.

Anyone get VNC or Remote Desktop to work over cell tower data connections?

I've noticed that so far no program that does a type of "remote desktop" function has gotten it to work over GPRS, EDGE, 3G or any sort of high speed connection that is not Wi-fi. Anyone know if a hack is needed or that it's a cellular provider that blocks it?
Its your network provider which blocks such ports. I am always connected via 3G/HSDPA...hardly use WiFi and work over RDP to my server.

Can anyone else confirm this? Hopefully someone in the US with Tmobile.
I'm in U.S. on AT&T and it works fine. I am inclined to agree, that port 3389 is probably blocked by T-Mobile. You could try changing RDP port listening on the remote PC and seeing if you can make it work over a different port.

Where do you see an option to change ports? I'm using XP and don't see that option when enabling it. I've also tried VNC viewer with VNC Server running on my comp. Still can't get it to connect. Even port forwarded it, but I don't know if I did it rite or what.
Moved as not software release.

you have the change the port on the server side. then from the client side you have to have a colon : then the port number that you changed the server to.

Any chance you can post your settings? I've been reading on this and people are suggesting things like port forwarding and router settings, static IP, etc. Was urs all that complicated? Do you use a router or are connected to a network?

did you do a full wipe (including /system)?
I'm on 1.2 and connecting to winxp with no problems
Haven't been able to get integrated hotspot to work either. Recommend downloading "Wireless Tether For Root Users.". Search google for it.

[Q] Ad-hoc WiFi

Hi,
was anyone successful with ad-hoc wifi patch? I've tried several wpa_supplicant versions, none of them worked.
I can't use connectify on my laptop, because of my Intel card

I'm not really familiar with ad hoc wifi? Is that where you use your phone as a modem via wifi?? If so mine's worked fine from day one... on version 10b and 10d
yes, that is one kind of ad-hoc, called tethering. What I meant was actually the opposite of it - sharing internet connection from my laptop to my phone.
If you have intel card try with intel My WiFi.

The easy way...
I have the LG Optimus 3D and I wanted to use my old WinMo phone as an ad-hoc server to provide my LG as well as my laptop with 3G internet. I searched a lot and finally found the solution. Yes you may try to replace the wpa-supplicant but there is an even easier way:
First of all you need a rooted device.
Then simply go to Market and install "ZT-180 Adhoc Switcher". Run this program everytime you want to connect to ad-hoc.
Press the button to change to ad-hoc mode.
The device acting as server needs to have its SSID set to "AndroidTether" and require no password.
Don't forget to revert back to "infrastructure" mode after ending your session otherwise you won't be able to connect to normal hotspots.
maybe its been solved for some any of the user, but I still wanna ask this, can anyone tell me how to make my device support the ad-hoc wifi?
I try the app above but I get no luck.
thx..
Try this http://virtualrouter.codeplex.com/releases/view/36035
It's a virtual router for pc,you should have Windows 7 installed to use it.
What about Maryfi ?

I'm using Connectify on my laptop - the free edition hardly makes my phone to stay connected for 3 minutes.
Maryfi - too "messy" to even get it started
Virtual router works and not...sometimes it does work but mostly not.
I've also tried reverse tethering - a free app on google play but I couldn't get over the first step.

None whatsoever, just a PC running Windows 7. (Won't run on XP or Vista).
Incredibly easy to use and setup.

[Q] solved - connect with wifi dongle to pc internet connection

how can i do that? thx
Do you mean you want your phone to share its internet via wifi tethering?
Sent from my SNES
no, i mean access internet from pc, via wireless usb dongle
Might want to be a bit more specific there. From what you're saying, it sounds like you're trying to do what bedalus said.
If what you mean is that you want to access your wired internet service wirelessly to your phone, you're going to need to pick up a wireless router or something.

The second part is true, i want to access the wired internet service and i have an wireless usb dongle(adaptor), also i want to share files with pc wireless.
What PS do u have? With Windows 7 you can create an ad-hoc under network sharing center -> set Up a Connection or Network -> Set up a wireless ad hockey (computer-to-computer) network. Then you can just follow the instructions on the pc

Yes you are right. Nexus s does not support ad hoc. I am sorry, I did not know that. This is weird even iDevices support it.
You can try ZT180 adhoc switcher from the market. But I cannot guarantee it will work. Because I have not tried it by myself.
Another option is using Connectify from windows 7 PC. I don't know about apple PCs. But connectify can turn your windows 7 PC into a real access point router. Not just a ad-hoc.
Well the last option is get a wifi router. What internet do you use? I am sure you can have a wifi router for all internet connections. NO matter you have ADSL, Broadband(Ethernet? I don't really know how to call it) even 3g or 4g connection can be wifi-routered! You just need to pick a correct device since NS does not support ad-hoc.

I found connectify and it works great. Thank you!
That is great! Enjoy your nexus s!

Under "Password" field in Connectify , you have an option "Internet". There you can select your internet connection to share. Hope that works!
I mean i select the win7 default connection " Local Area Connection", and set it to shared, but the Connectify connection (access point) doesn't have network access, i don't know why, i tried almost 10 times, it just doesn't work.

Update: I think i solved it, i just turn off the firewall of ESET and windows, and it works fine, thank u guys

Could you check advanced settings on WiFi and see if it says anything in IP Address box, also are you on stock ROM?
You could also log into the router and see if it displays the connection etc.
Is your mobile rooted?
And have you any MAC-Filters on your router where you have to add the MAC Address of the phone?
