As far as i know there is no way to gain root on 4.2.2 without unlocking my bootloader.
I want to backup my TA so i guess i need to go back to 4.1 (via Flashtool) then gain root through motochopper then backup my TA. Than go back to 4.2.2 again and than unlock my bootloader in order to gain root on 4.2.2
Can somebody confirm if this works and does somebody have a ftf file with 4.1 Jelly Bean?

Flash 4.1.2(there are some ftf in general tab) then root, backup your TA partition, unlock it and then probably you will get bootloop, just flash 4.2.2.Then use what method you want to root 4.2.2(like flashing .zip or manual push)

Thank you!
EDIT
I can succesfully confirm that i have root on 4.2.2 with a locked bootloader!

The same here. If you find an answer somewhere else please let me know.
Gentlemen,
First you should do the NVflash tool to backup your golden bootloader (very important, this will help you to relock and unbrick your device).
Second, install Voodoo OTA root keeper then use OTA root keeper to make a backup.
Next:
If you want to upgrade to .30 version:
Download the correct version of tf700 (US, TW etc..)
Extract the zip file, then rename to something like recover.zip
Boot into your custom recovery and select recover.zip then flash away.
If you want to upgrade to JB version, you have to reflash your twrp(no longer work with JB) with the new CWM version then follow the same steps above. Detail instructions are in the link below.

Thank you very much for your assistance.
I have an Xperia SP currently running 4.1.2 rooted, bootloader locked.
My aim is to upgrade to 4.3.3 and root, for which i will have to unlock the bootloader. To do so I need a TA partition, for which again, root is required.
So, my question is that is it okay if I take a TA Backup now [in 4.1.2] and then upgrade OTA and unlock bootloader, root and then restore the 4.1.2 TA backup onto 4.3.3 in order to restore DRM keys and Relock the bootloader?
Has anyone done this?
is it safe?
1- Do I need to unroot the phone(xperia L) and relock the bootloader to flash the stock rom?
2-Does flashing the stock rom removes CWM(I want to remove it)?
Thank's in advance!
you can return to stock firmware using FLASH TOOL for xperia ( google it )
With this you can lock the bootloader but before that flash the stock rom @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/sony-xperia-l-flashable-ftfs-locked-t2560642
and yes flashing stock rom with FLASH TOOL will also remove CWM
hit thanks if that helped because today i also returned to stock rom

Firstly, updates via pc companion or SUS requires lock bootloader..if you have TA backup just restored it and it will be updated officially.
Second...Flashing new firmware will erased everything and your bootloader still will be unlocked if throu flashtool..
Third...when using flashtool, there are a few choices you can make like saving your data and etc but its recommended to wipe everything..
your data etc can be backup using 3rd party app..
The easiest way to root is using extended stock kernel v6 kernel..It has built in root and its binaries..
Thank you very much. I didn't save TA when I unlocked the bootloader so I assume that I can't get it locked. So in this case I will do the update trough flashtool. After flashing the update I will just restore root. Have a nice day

i have backed up drm using backup ta and a zip file is also saved now when i try to restore some error is coming like protcol fault(read error) please help me how to overcome this problem
Hello,
I tried to find a way to root D2303. I unlocked the boot loader the official way.
On my device is Build 18.3.1.C.0.21 (KitKat 4.4.4).
There are two possible ways: Towelroot and CWM with SuperSU.
It seems KK 4.4.2 is needed for both. So I tried to flash 18.3.C.0.37 (KK 4.4.2) it with Sony's tool Emma.
After boot the device had still Build 18.3.1.C.0.21.
What shall I try next?
Here you have a way to root 4.4.4 -->http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/general/d2303-how-to-root-kitkat-4-4-4-t2955337
stay on 18.3.1.C.0.21 it is and for this rom root
Use this flashtool, is the best
You said that Towelroot works fine in 4.4.4? Or did I misunderstand the comment? xD
If I'm right, could you please tell me how could root the phone? Thanks
buddy, Towelroot only for JB ... please read a little
Here is all described -->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2791290

That already know xD. So, the thing you try to appoint is Root from 4.3 and then using OTA Update for 4.4.4 KitKat? Is that? Thanks.
1. you need to make a backup copy of DRM keys (this is the forum)
2. unlock the bootloader
3. and then (after reading a few threads on the root), download the appropriate software,ect..., you can start working on the root of your phone
Good luck
Hi all
I have searched for a long time about rooting my device, but i found nothing
I have Sony Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633) with android 5.1.1 build 23.4.A.1.232 and locked bootloader.
So, I need to root it or install a pre-rooted stock firmware without touching the bootloader.
Hi, you need to flash a kitkat rom with flashtool then root with giefroot. (I'm not sure about other rooting methods but this is the safest way IMO.)
After it got rooted, install a recovery so you can flash pre-rooted stock firmware or whatever you want. Remember to backup TA partition.
I had D6633 before and worked perfectly.
I have posted this before but you can go directly to the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056

As far as I know, stock roms with stock kernel don't need bootloader to be unlocked. You need to unlock the bootloader in order to flash custom kernel and aosp stuffs.
tl;dr, if you are not gonna use custom kernel and aosp stuffs your bootloader can remain locked.
Ok, if you want to install moonbreakers, here's what I did when I first bought the device. I never unlock my bootloader.
1. Prepare the tools and root the device using Giefroot. and I recommend you to backup TA partition first just in case.
2.Install dual recovery.
3.Now that you have a working recovery you can flash any stock roms.
here's the guide by G-FACE.
if you want to unlock the bootloader remember to backup TA partition before you do it. If it's lost you can't get it back.

First of all, thanks for your help
Well i'm not professional, I only understand the rooting process.
But I have some questions:
1- can I make a ftf file as a backup from my exist firmware, so when I decide to reverse the whole process and return my device back to its original state, without losing anything?
2- What is the recovery, is that recovery has any disadvantage or negatively affect my device?
3- I didn't find a firmware 23.4.A.1.232 with the same customization version which is 1288-7361_R3C
