Did you ever find anything? One of these just fell into my hands and I honestly haven't the first clue what to do with it (would like to get some CM/AOSP goodness on it but I have no idea if that'll be possible). Also is Poot easy to use?

Hey guys, have a generic CDMA sch-r760 and m looking for a custom kernel that includes cwm. I'm trying to get a recovery installed on this device in order to flash custom ROMs. Could really use the help because I know these phones don't get tackled much. I'm doing this for my cousin because I rooted his phone in high hopes I could upgrade him to jellybean like I did with a Samsung captivate last night. Any help?

Yea, that is still a dead thread. Well, dead due to the fact that everyone is talking to themselves and development is occurring.
Okay, so my Android 4.3 AT&T Galaxy S4 is rooted (through Kingo) and the only reason I did it in the first place was to flash CyanogenMod or some stock Android variant. Now I'm being told I can't install a custom recovery on my phone for two reasons. 1) AT&T locked the bootloader 2) I'm running Android 4.3.
Now, I'm considering unrooting my phone but even that's unclear and confusing, and it's hard to find people on these forums who are willing to help with these relatively simple (to the non-newbs, of course) things.
Can I flash a custom recovery? Can I run CyanogenMod or any good ROM? If no, will I be able to, ever? If no, how do I unroot? Would it be wise to just wait for the next update from Samsung or AT&T and install it so I automatically unroot?
Much appreciated.

I was just wondering if it was at all possible to port a rom from the note 2 to the gs3 because last I herd they are basically the same phones, ones just bigger. The reason why is because they have a lot of 4.4.2 touchwiz based roms that I sure would like to run on my galaxy. Now if this is possible would it be easy and wise to use a tool such as the Rom-porting tool found somewhere on these forums? Any and all advice is appreciated and I hope i'm not way off base here. Thanks!

OK, yeah that makes sense. But is it still possible, even if it's not in the way I described?

nothing impossible but porting rom like TW from different device need a hard work and maybe patch the kernel that we cant as locked bootloader.
you can try by replace /app /framework /priv-app worst case is bootloop use port guides iam not a good porter.

Root it, are you planning on installing a custom rom? If so then you won't have to worry about it auto updating but if not remove two files. Fwupgrade.apk and sdm.apk

Yes i will probably do a custom rom i havnt looked into them but im thinking it might help towards getting 4g with straight talk. Do you happen to know if they will need the phone active to do the jtag or if i can transfer my number to have a phone while its out

I doubt the phone will need to be active to perform the jtag service, I don't see why you can't transfer your number to another phone. I've done it in the past and it was quite easy

Dears,
Does anyone tried a custom rom for samsung galaxy J700P ?
No.
No one has root yet, no custom roms
We need a custom recovery first and I have no idea if anyone is even working on one

No You Don't need a custom recovery to install a custom rom to the J700P as long as u have used the current root method for the J700P then you can install Flashfire and install anything!
Past stock? Has any boost phones ever had a c7stom rom. Everyone seems to forget the P models . Or can't get the Sprint/Boost. I could see that its prepaid and we get new phones. But some hang on to these midrange phone s fir a year or 2. IDK where the DEV is but since there's is Sprint compatible or the same can we get a rom.
