[Q] Setting network mode priority? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I noticed under "Network Mode" that you have four options: LTE, 3G, 1x, Global. Is there any other way to set a priority list (I was able to do this on my S3 with 4.3)? For example, my S3 would have the option "LTE/CDMA/EvDO". If there's LTE use it, if not use 3G or else use 1x. As it works now, when I'm at home I have to manually change it to "3G" so it will connect to my Airave, then "LTE" when I'm on the road.
Is there anyway to prioritize a list of network modes to use so that if LTE is unavailable it will go right to 3G?

[Q] switch from 3g/4g to edge

Is there a way to switch from 3g to 2g (edge) on the atrix? Or an app that will allow it?
I travel in an area where I drop calls alot on 3 and 4g but if I can switch to 2g when in these areas I can hold the calls.
Take a look at this thread [How To] Access Android Engineer Mode aka change basebands even easily. started by manojsuper.
You will want to change the "Set preferred network type:" in the phone information to "GSM only". I think it's usually set to "WCDMA preferred".
Thanks. I downloaded the app network and it worked great.

[Q] Force 3G only in field test

Hi..i owned a Lumia, but a bit frustrated when network keep switching between 3G and 2G.
i just want to stay only in 3G network..
have anyone test the field test by dialling "##3282"?
in there we can change 3G only.
But i didnt know it worked or not..
so far it doesnt change to 2G..
I too used the same test by dialing ##3282. In addition you have to toggle the ENS to OFF position (don't reboot).
When you choose 3G only. It exactly what it means, 3G only, not 4G (LTE) and NOT 2G either. So it will only connect to 3G and hence you are not getting 2G signal.
I wish there was a speed limit setting so we could avoid LTE rather than pure 3G only. Or choose 3G+2G together.

Network with 3G connectivity

Hello guys, i am from India. Here, I have activated airtel 3g and i am from Maharashtra state. Here, airtel network uses IDEA network for 3g packs as they don't own the spectrum. I kept my cell in 3g mode and "automatically select network", but it stays in 2g(Same doesnt happen in my note 2, using 3g in auto mode). If i manually select IDEA from the list of networks, it goes to 3g. I want to keep it on auto, like switch to 2g when 3g is not available. Settings are same. How to make it switch to 3g automatically. Preferred mode is 3g. Any problem in my handset?
Thanks

[Q] Only Edge 2G signal in 3G area after installing CM11 badadroid on Samsung Wave 1

I recently installed Android 4.4.2 ( CyanogenMod CM11 badadroid 4.4 made available by @volk204 ) on my Samsung Wave 1 phone with Bada 2.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2609560) . The first time I booted with Android I could get 3G signal. Once I went to an area with only 2G signal it dropped to Edge. The problem is that it never goes back to 3G in areas where I have strong 3G signal when I boot into bada. In settings I have "3G preferred" and/or use a profile with the "2G/3G" setting. When I use a profile with "only 3G", it connects perfectly.
But I don't want to have "3G only" all the time because when I go to an area with no 3G I get no signal at all. So, as a solution, I made a profile with "3G only" and whenever I want to use 3G I choose this profile. And afterwards I go back to the default profile which has "2G/3G" setting.
Anyone knows if this can be fixed?

How to enable automatic GSM fallback?

Hi,
On my old Sony, I had something like "LTE/WCDMA/GSM" mode, so phone could successfully fall back to GSM when 3g/4g connection is weak.
Is there such an option for Pixel 3?
I've tried various settings from 4636 menu, but it looks like there is no such option. Even in "GSM auto (PRL)" or "Global auto" is still uses UMTS with -100...-110 dbm signal strength, while in "GSM only" there is -89dbm available.
Is there a settings or some adjustable through adb option, which allows GSM fallback?
I also could write an android app, in order to switch into GSM in some circumstances, if possible.
I've located in the eastern europe, if that matters, and LTE/WCDMA work best on my network, except in my office location.
