LG L9 is quite old for today's standards. Though it has decent amount of development but still it has a old processor.
It lags and compared to Xperia L, it doesn't even comes near to it in terms of performance. Its your choice in the end though.

For me Xperia L is better, but choice is all yours.
Better things in Xperia L from the firs view is that XL is newer, got more internal storage, better camera and maybe better official support(maybe in future better support from CM too). I'm not sure, but maybe XL got better GPU too.

I have XL, my mother got L9, Display > L9, Everything Else > XL
Go for XL, Its newer and got higher benchmarks

(Advice please) Samsung Galaxy Mini OR Motorola BackFlip OR SE Xperia X10 Mini

Hello,
I'm not very keen on starting this kind of thread, but comparative information is pretty scarce on the internet.
I'm planning on getting my girlfriend an Android phone soon and I'm stuck between these 3 models due to my budget:
1. Sony-Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini
2. Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570
3. Motorola BackFlip
The Xperia was what she originally saw and liked, but in my opinion its not very good. The Samsung appears to be the safest bet, and the Motorola is something i've just seen 10 minutes ago and seems very good on paper (hardware-wise) but that screen seems too small and the keypad is not something she (or i) would like very much. Plus that flip mechanism i'm sure will not last very long.
Now i turn to you, the community, for opinions. I'm a bit stuck between these. Any input would be great!
Thanks!

The best for me is x10 mini...
1. X10 mini has many stuff u cn do n u cn root it n update to 2.3 cyanogen... Cons: lag of multitouch n qvga
2. Galaxy mini has ginger update too, but i dunt understand too much abt rooting it... Cons: qvga
Best : Able to overclocked to 800mhz
3. Backflip... I tink is lame...
But for a budget hvga fone, i recommended optimus one or x8...

Thank you for your reply. I know about Optimus One and it is superior to those 3 that i've mentioned. Unfortunately it's $35 US more expensive than my budget (my budget being what those 3 cost). This is a spontaneous decision and there is not a lot of money to be spent. She doesnt care that much about the technical side but she would enjoy the apps and everything and i could certainly help her discover more about Android. She prefers the smaller devices as well. So no optimus one.
I might just end up with the samsung. Im still not sure.

My wife has a backflip, I got it for her in July and its been durable but broken a few otterbox cases (just the front piece). The best rom has been cyanogen mod 7.1 even tho it frequently freezes it has performed way better than the stock 1.5 & 2.1 that Motorola provides. If a good phone is above your budget, just spend the extra lil bit. It'll be worth it in the end.

Phone advice please

Hi I have just heard back from insurance company to say that they don't have my desire hd in stock and I have to agree on a cash settlement instead. After some negotiation we have agreed on 280. I have got four phones in mind and just wanted to know if anyone on here can advise the pros and cons of each one in order to help me choose. Phones are as follows:
Sony Ericsson Xperia play.
Lg Optimus 2x
Sony Ericsson Xperia arc s
Or my desire hd again.
Both the play and the arc s I have found really good deals for. Main thing I'm looking at is overall performance and ability to root and run custom rooms.
Any info would be great
Cheers
the Arc S is a damn sexy phone. Id go with that if u can get a good deal for it.
But the Optimus 2x has a Tegra 2 dual core processor and good dev support as well. Both will get official ICS also.

yeah cheers just had a look at the arc s now, and it is very nice! that being said the optimus is very similar in terms of performance and price. trying to find a phone similar to them both that has slightly more memory and can be rooted
galaxy r would be a good choice if u are willing to sacrifice full hd recording and 3mp less cam !!
lg optimus2x would be the best choice for cheapest as the priceerformance ratio for optimus is quite high !!
+ the optimus 2x would be getting official ics in march !!
and many custom roms are also available !!
but i would like to ask !
dont you have any other options other than four of these ?!
!

haha, yeah, there are other phones out there. Ive narrowed down what i think are the best phone for under £250. really tempted to increase the budget and go for galaxy s2 now..
For me Sony Ericsson Xperia arc s is too big and galaxy is better choice...
Maybe is so big, but still for me Sony Ericsson Xperia arc s is better option.
The Arc looks so friggin' sweet.. can't go wrong with that one, I wish they'd bring it to Sprint.

In my advice. You will go with Sony Ericsson Xperia arc. Much better than others in terms of features and reliability as well as the market worth also counts. Desire HD would be a good set but it will be less expensive too
I can highly recommend the Arc S - just make sure you use a custom rom and not the official Sony ICS!
Get a nexus!!
I think the only disadvantages of Desire HD is low battery capacity (1230 mah) , high weight (164 g) and low lcd brightness but larger Ram(HD:768 MB Arc:512MB) ROM(HD:1.5 GB Arc S:320 MB) and about cpu I heard that arc s has a same cpu speed as arc (1 Ghz) but overclocked (to 1.4 Ghz).
You could probably find a bargain on eBay or Craigslist for a cheaper Galaxy S2. I bought a Sprint Galaxy Nexus off of Craigslist for $160 / £100 (I believe that is the price in GBP, not sure.)
I am waiting for Sony ION to come in White.
Super awesome looks.
depends on what functinalities you're interested in. For me, as a game maniac xperia play is the only choice (actually that's my current phone)
Arc S is the most sexy but Lg Optimus 2x is beter more internal storage and dual core cpu... I've got an Arc S but now I would buy Lg if they have the same price
Go for the Arc S I know a friend who has one and it's great. :good:
you buy cheap s2
Please don't resurrect old threads as I highly doubt the OP is still deciding on a phone 9 months later. Plus the sticky in this section is to be used for all such questions. Closed.

Xperia t or Nexus 4 or LG optimus 4x HD

So, which phone should i buy? Xperia t or Nexus 4 or LG optimus 4x HD?
I'd say Nexus 4
It depends on what you need and how many money you can spend.
The best devices between these three are le LG Nexus 4 and the LG Optimus 4X HD. The LG Optimus 4X HD can be found at lower price in some countrys and it is the best phone for its performance.
The performance on both phones are almost equal.
The screen is way better on the LG Optimus 4X HD than on the two other phones. So if you want to watch videos and profit of the Tegra 3 effects on games with a wide screen, go buy a LG Optimus 4X HD.
The best camera is on the Xperia T so if you are looking for a photophone go for the Xperia T.
The LG Nexus 4 has got the latest updates but if you know how to flash roms, CyanogenMod roms are available and perfectly stable on the LG Optimus 4X HD and on the Xperia T. However the nexus 4 has no memory card slot, so if you want to play heavy games and listen to a lot of music, 16 Gb may not be enough. The Nexus 4 also have this bothering and boring navbar which take a space at the bottom of the screen.
The batteries are quiet equal on both IMO.
I gave you the pros and cons of these three phones. I'm using the LG Optimus 4X HD and i can tell you it is amazing, very smooth and fluid. Playing games on this phone is a pure pleasure. However the camera is not as good as on the Xperia and it does not have the great support of the Nexus 4 (but we have a lot of roms).
If I helped please press "thank"

Thanks ectoplasma22!! I want phone for music and games. In my country LG O4xHD is cheapes and N4 is most expensive. I wont buy nexus cause i need more space than 16GB. How about LG O4xHD music quality? I heard that Xperia T has brilliant music quality. And why LG has lower score in benchmark than Xperia T?
P.S. which phone is better? GS3 or LG O4xHD?
More opinions please.
Nexus 4 takes over most phones because of its 2gb ram and android support
No sd card support is no big deal for me as I have all my data uploaded on box with 50gb as I even have an xperia lww
People may complain about battery life but as I come from xperia lww, I find battery life really nice
I love everything about this phone especially the android support by xda!

how about music quality?
I recently had the nexus 4, I owned it for about 3 weeks, while its a very nice phone, super quick and will have the latest updates, I just couldn't handle the poor battery life, I mean some days I was strugglin to get 3 hours screen on time it was that bad, I possibly could've had a faulty battery, I did phone up LG but they wouldn't entertain a replacement as I brought it off ebay, before I had the nexus I did think very hard about the xperia T but we all know deep down what sony is like with there updates down the line so that sort of put me off but I have held an xperia t in my hand and it feels and looks great, I have no idea about the optimus, sorry
So I would advise u out of the 3 phones u listed, to go for the nexus 4, its probably the most future proof of the 3, and for the price ur still gettin a top class phone.
Hope ur happy with ur choice
Take care

I was confused of what device to get when replacing my Razr I that i loved but ave up after being frustrated with no custom roms, and many problemas getting it to run many games.
Nexus 4 was nearly impossible to get here in Brazil, so i ended up with a Optimus G E977 that is almost the same as Nexus 4 with 32GB, and a 13mpixel camera.
They cant really be compared to 4x HD or Xperia T, only if youre going to take price in relevance.

Ok, i dont want nexus 4 anymore cause he is most expensive (thanks to my country) and it has lack of internal memory.
So, Xperia T and LG O4X. Which is faster? Which performs better in gaming?
I think you should go with Sony Xperia T because it comes with 4.5 inches screen display,720 x 1280 pixels Resolution, 4.0.4 android operating system, 13 mega pixel camera with autofocus, Dual-core 1.5 GHz Processor,1 GB RAM, 16 GB Internal Memory, 32 GB Expandable Memory & 1850 mAh battery capacity and its work better in gaming.

Should I buy the Moto G?

Hi Everyone,I currently own a Sony Xperia S which was launched back in 2012.It has a 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon S3 chip with 1GB RAM and Adreno 220 GPU.I recently saw the Moto G and was actually amazed by its specs considering its price.I am actually planning to pick up the 16GB model for myself but I wanted to know whether it is worth to upgrade from the Xperia S to the Moto G as my daily Driver? The Xperia S has NFC and a very good 13 megapixel camera,The Moto G on the other hand has no NFC and has a 5 megapixel camera.
I am inclined to buy the Moto G because of its performance as my Xperia S does show some lag now and it is stuck on official Android 4.1.2 JellyBean.
So what do you guys suggest? Is it worth buying the Moto G?Will I see an increased performance in Games and everyday tasks on the Moto G compared to my Xperia S?
Do help me with your valuable advice
Thanks
P.S Even If I buy the Moto G,I will be keeping the Xperia S with me.I will not sell it

I have the same doubt...
IMHO these are the benefits and the disadvantages of buying the MG:
Pro:
Best optimization software-hardware
Best hardware
Bigger screen and similar resolution (just a little)
Pure Android and future upgrades
Battery duration
Prize
50 GB Drive (only 2 years)
Cons:
Only 8GB (In my case because I'll only can pay for it)
Only white led notifications
No HDMI output
No NFC (irrelevant in my case)
Worse camera (only hardware camera, I've no idea about sofware camera)
Lack of Sony apps and smallapps (only if you like it)
No earphones and no charger (It doesn't mind)
Worse earphones quality sound (I'm not sure with this point)
I'll buy it for sure!!! I like it so much!!!

Moto G has USB OTG,so you can carry a pen drive with you.
I guess you can enable different colours in LED using Light Flow
I am not a big fan of Sony's UI and I prefer vanilla android!
And I will be keeping the Xperia S too,so I won't miss NFC or HDMI on the Moto G.
I actually want to buy the Moto G for its specs because the Xperia S is really slowing down.

It depends on whats important to you, as always... If you need/want a good cam and NFC, better keep your phone. If you want a great battery life and better performance and especially AOSP, moto G should be your choice
I am thinking about switching as well, since I own a LG L9. Its' battery can easily keep up with the moto G. But as probably everyone knows, LG sucks concerning updates.
Also I think the performance would be much better, of course
But who in the world needs that?
Oh and of course a probably bugfree CM, that's tempting

Nexus 4 is a bit more costlier here but also has a better camera and a larger screen wid better gpu ofcourse and more ram...
Bt moto g has a better battery life than any other power hungry phone. Also i can rest sure that the next android version will be available on moto g but not sure about it on nexus 4 (thannks to crappy 18month policy)
Also moto g here will cost around $250 (everything costly in india )
And nexus 4 will cost $300

They are all great phones, it honestly depends on what you are looking for the most, i imagine all of them have amazing cameras, they all try to aim for that, probably the phone with the best camera would be a HTC m8 or lg g3, the g3 is supposed to shoot 2k pictures/videos but im not quite sure, the g3 is supposed to have a superb Screen, not that the other phones wouldn't have great screens but the G3 has a 2k resolution screen which must be nice. the xperia z3 is coming out (or is already out) so i would get that over a z2, Sony phones have waterproof coating and are made for durability, i dont know much on the z3 since its a little newer you would have to do research on that, if its performance you want either a m8 or a Galaxy s5 would be perfect. anyways, thats all i have to say about the devices, if you have any questions please reply back!
all you say it was very useful...so i decide tha the best option is lg g3..but i am confused.i never have buy any iphone,i always have galaxy but the loose their price very fast as lg.on the other hand with iphone you don't have this problem and if you can sell it you can achieve a high price. So now I wondered between iphone 5s and lg g3 which is better?
you what will choose? thanks a lot

the reason why iphones sorta keep their price is because you are paying for "Premium" Design basically from the Greedy people at apple, think of macbooks vs pcs, macbooks are going to be more because they are one of a kind, there are lots of different windows computers that you might or might not like, so iphones are one of a kind and are not in huge bulk as android is.
