Color Profile/Calibration App without flashing a custom kernel? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there an App that allows to choose a color profile, color calibration.... screen saturation, temperature? but without having to flash a custom ROM/kernel? you know for the few of us who actually like stock but want some minor tweaks ...
The Lumias, Xperias, Galaxy S, Galaxy Note have such app , but of course no nexus love ... here are some screenshots from their corresponding apps

no..maybe in the near future

Actually there is:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.netmanslab.sa
No root needed. However, this modifies (overlays) colors only. For gamma settings you might need a custom kernel and therefore root.

Gamma changes the intensity of each color in one of the three RGB portions of the pixel. So instead of changing all three colors at once, you get control over each color. At least that's how I understand it.
So as a result, you get contrast, hue, saturation and vibrance settings.

[Q] Changing Default Background Color

So I have been looking all over and cannot find an answer anywhere. i dont know if it can be done even! but god i hope so.
I am trying to change the default windows background color. not the task bar, not the background... Here is an example:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
see the blue gradient in the background? how do i change that!?
Also, what about the blue lines on the today screen? can i make those Orange somehow? here is another example:
the blue lines that extend from the dates or the blue line that divides the menu programs from the recent programs.
Help!
Thank You so much!
PS: What is this called? haha.
Download and install RC Mod. Spend some time playing with its features. It does exactly what your looking for and then some.
Enjoy
look for Settings+, it's an active thread in the Dev&Hack section. you can change the general colors of the device using the app.
Not sure about the background tho.
UI tweaker does it all i believe, just needs patience as not too use friendly on some devices

Use one of the tools listed above. They work for the diamond too.

Both work Excellent!
Settings+ is a little simpler to use, but RC Mod can give me a more precise color.

[RESOLVED] Can the brightness go any lower?

I know this has been asked before on specific kernels and bugs of sort but I am wondering if it's possible to go any lower on the brightness that we have. I have tried all the roms for the NS4G, rooted and stock. In the dark it's still too bright. I guess there could be worse things to have happen or complain about.

Your sig shows you on cm. Did you check the cm settings*display*automatic backlight*light levels*use custom*edit other levels . You can edit all levels of the backlight.
Also if using the miui rom in settings* display* advanced. Same options at cm7.
I have my lowest level at 14

Ok that is awesome thank you. I lowered it to 5. Now is this a filter or is the light really at 5%. I bet I can save some juice as I don't used it to surf at work and I read in the dark. Thanks again and thanks button hit.
Edit: Oh man, there can be up to 3000 levels set! Holy crap. Nice

[Q] Change screen rotation delay in ICS?

(I am on the unofficial CM9 release)
Is this possible? I know the delay was set by Google to keep the screen from rotating when you don't want it to, but it doesn't bother me if it rotates on accident- and if it did bother me I'd just turn off auto-rotate. I'm not looking to speed up the animation, I want to remove or shorten the screen rotation delay. All I can find on Google is people misunderstanding this request, people saying "GOOGLE MADE IT AS A FEATURE I DON'T SEE THE PROBLEM" and people saying "AOKP ROM lets you change it" Okay well, how did the creator of the AOKP ROM do that? What file needs to be changed to modify screen rotation delay?
Thanks.
P.S: I'm not an idiot when it comes to modifying Android, I'm hardly versed in it, but I'm confident with what I do. I'm not some random idiot.
you need to change framework parameters. you can either change the SETTLE_TIME_MS= in the framework (see http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=24869) and compile the rom from source,
or try to decompile framework and change with the method in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1413304 which may work for ics.
both are somewhat time consuming to do though... so people would rather recommend you flash an aokp rom.
Well I'm not too keen on compiling a whole rom lol so I tried the framework.jar edit. I followed the directions exactly and when I rebooted I got the "Android Optimizing" like it does after an OTA and... No change.
Is the feature a default AOKP thing? Cause if it is I may have to check out the Uniporn rom.
In the unicorn Rom control setting at the bottom of general ui is rotation delay. I don't recall if cm9 has same option

Thanks for the help guys, looks like I'll be flashing UNiPoRN. Hopefully I'll be able to MMS with that rom as well.
Put these as your settings it'll work great! (Password is: CINGULAR1)

I know it's crazy. What's going on that it needs that much ram?? I tried it again and it's still absurdly high. Pass on this. There's an overlay thread that you can add your own images too
Are there any edge clock always on display out there for grabs? I've been searching but in vain..
I would like to get this, but I don't like the fact that it has a 2 second delay to get to the homescreen.

Hi can you tell me where I can find the overlay thread to do this? I'm not able to get into substratum to check if it's there. Thanks

Notifcation Panel chaned to a light theme after phone update

Recently updated my p20 to the 9.0.0 emui, and the phone changed to a light theme. Can't seem to change it back through notifications. Is there a way for me to change it (preferably without downloading a mod)? Thanks in advance!

You can achieve this with using a custom theme.
I'll post more about this later.

I'm very disappointed with the EMUI 9 update on the P20, I'm of course happy to receive the system speed enhancements, I just feel the user interface and graphical design very weak. ( IMHO )
" EMUI 9.0 features a simplified design to reflect natural elements and nature’s sound. Our inspiration comes from blending natural colour transitions and light and shadow with mountains, ocean water, glaciers and stones to form a translucent visual presentation."
I would be interested to know how to change these functions, if anyone can advise.
1- The Light theme is terrible and should have been made an option in settings rather than removing any chance of black mode. How to change the pull down notifications back to a black background and white icons.
2- The changing the Contacts images to mountains (if you haven't set one) when it used to be Initials seems unhelpful.
3- When using the Dialler contacts now have an allocated murky brown colour below the image and behind the icons. (which isn't the most flattering when people call you. )
