Sorry if this is a noob question, but is it possible to port just a specific feature of a rom to another rom on the same device.
Was wondering if you could port gesture lock from Carbon Rom and HALO to another cm rom on our device.
Bump

Search for xposed, this piece of software can do very much, at least halo should work with the right package...

I am aware of this because i already use Xposed Framework. Also, the HALO with Floating Notifications is much worse than real HALO, no offense. But thank you for ur reply.

No joys yet
This is a really simple guide. Everybody can do this.
What you need:
- Root File Explorer
How you do it:
Navigate to system>app and delete or rename HtcLockScreen.apk.
That's it, now reboot and enjoy your AOSP-Lockscreen.
You need to unlock before answering a call.
Screenshots attached.
Do you still have to unlock the screen before you can answer a call?

That made no sense and so I tested it and you still have to unlock the phone to answer a call. This doesn't happen on AOSP roms.
Edit, its a bit buggy with the dots showing when it shouldn't.

Thanks... If I do that, i lose "productively" since need for "event reminder". Hope someone can mod to do like AOSP/CM where it show calendar "event reminde" on lockscreen.

hey vivmar yeah been running for a number of days now building every couple of days, seems stable enough although I have to admit I have not fully tested simply because I don't use a lot of features available. If anyone would like a link to test pm me.

Hey there guys...
I have a simple question.
Well... This morning I've tried to take a photo of some text. I enabled the flashlight in the camera app an shot the photo... But all I get is a hell white picture. So I tried around with the flashlight and noticed that it makes all the pics way too bright... They are aweful.
Does any of you guys suffer the same problem?
Is there any fix?
I am running 4.4.2 on latest DroidKang v18 and ChaosKernel 9.2.
Thanks in advance

question? answer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477886
now are you using the flash to take photos or are you using a "flashlight" option?
I'm sorry for the wrong place.
Well... Of course I use the regular flash option in the camera. Sorry for my English

you can move back a little from the object that you are photographing. or, what i would probably do, you can turn down the exposure to -1(press the circle on the bottom right, pres the +/-, press -1).
Yeah... I understand what you mean. But it's not a problem of distance or something. I am a hobby photographer and know about that. Even photographing my room from about 6ft gives me crappy results. Here are examples. The brighter one is with exposure 0 and the darker ( but still awkward ) one is with -2

As you can see it looks like I'm using a 200 lumens flashlight

i photograph a lot with my n5, like a lot might be an understatement. but it looks like it might be an issue with your rom or gapps. the flash works fine for me.
Is there a way to remove and reinstall the original camera.apk?
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5 mit Tapatalk
I find the flash quite harsh. In low light conditions, I try to use hdr instead of flash

Okay... So just flash gapps over? Your flash looks way better. Mine is really blueish. The wall on my pics is white as snow actually
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5 mit Tapatalk
Maybe you have an issue with focus. There is a pre-flash that is quite blue that goes off during focus before the actual flash. Maybe you're somehow catching that. I managed to capture it myself once just now but unable to reproduce since
Normal flash

it was the camera apk, plus the lib and jar file needed to get everything working. i bet you were just missing some needed files. but im glad it worked

The problem is ROM and kernel related. Roms which use for the torch the sysf interface run into this problem if the kernel does not have a fix. Symptom is simple....enable one time torch....after that every picture is overexposed. Only a reboot solves it and after that best not using torch.
Basically it is an error in the kernel source. Fix for it is this one
https://github.com/SlimRoms/kernel_lge_hammerhead/commit/fc65aaf560efbaafcdc0a03793af75fc9d97ef12
Just notify your kernel dev about.

Great News ! paranoid android ream brought us a marshmallow Rom. There's nothing I want more than installing it. I searched for videos and on google for information about it but didn't find more than I already know. So if you have it installed or will install it pls share your experience with us ! My phone is fully stock, so it's a hard decision. I also get 4 hours of sot normally. 5 hours were possible, so will aospa get me it back ? What are the system tweaks. Is there another kernel ? Or is it just stock android with oos features removed and PA features added ? The batterylife is the biggest point for me
