I tried this on my galaxy S4 and it worked perfectly without any extra software but I can't get it to work on my nexus 5 with stock rom and rooted. Has anyone got this working? Thanks in advance.
Have you tried using a program like stickmount? Mine works great on stock rooted rom
The n5 supports it but does not have any settings at all for mass storage so you don't have any choice to install an app. I tried mine with my n5 and my wife's htc one s and same thing like at your home.

Stickmount works just fine for me. Rooted, but otherwise stock ROM.

Currently using CM7 nightlies.

There is no info for anyone to go off of to start to help.i had similar issues on my galaxy s2 epic 4g touch. I had to fix permissions when i used cm10.1. When i switched to toiched by s4 i had two cameras neither worked so i tried fix permission again and accomploshed nothing. I downloaded an app called silent camera and i now have a working camera

i was using super jelly bean 6.0 now i updated my rom sjb ray 8.0 now camera is working but flash isn't workin tried other camera apps

I just installed the APK and it worked, I don't know what you mean by settings.
Does this apk work with Kitkat?
Does this work with MK2?

Ok, I've been using Sac's Roms 3.5 and 4.0 with KT Kernel and this app works perfectly. It says that it started with errors and doesn't show the download and upload quantities but, my pc recognize it, as a matter of fact, I'm using it right now. I hope you can see the speed test prove here in Puerto Rico.
I'm on latest version of negalites rom and use wifi tether ap with no problems. It's in the playstore but you need root.

I am having a problem getting the Square (Register) credit card reader to work on my Skyrocket. I have the CM10.2 ROM. The reader is recognized when it's plugged into the device, but it does nothing when a card is swiped. From what I've read it sounds like the app may not work for custom ROMs, but I'm curious if anyone has found a fix for that issue, since there's no chance in hell I"m going back to the stock ROM.

Just a quick followup. I can't get it to work with CM on either the Skyrocket or another phone we have (Galaxy Note), which is also running CM (but version 11). However, I just tried it on our tablet (ASUS Infinity), which is running CM11, and it works fine on there. So, it seems like there must be some way to get it to work on the phones.
My phone was working fine last night. It went dead, threw it on the charger, turned it on this morning and now I get no data. Wifi connects and so does 3g & 4g, but there is no data coming in or going out. Phone and text are working. I also just noticed that my comma disappeared from the stock keyboard. Any ideas? The only thing I can think of is that I was trying to disable the volume warning by installing the app "wanam kit" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.wanamkit&hl=en
I've rebooted several times since installing wanam kit, everything was fine all day yesterday.
I'm rooted on the stock ROM, nothing else.

All you need to do is try uninstalling the wanam kit and reboot ! if it works good and fine if not roll back to official stock Rom there it'll fix everything for you

Yes, uninstalled wanam kit and rebooted this morning. I was trying to avoid reformatting my phone, I just got it set back up the way I want. Thanks for the reply.

Yes, it's been rooted for several months now. Don't remember which method I used.
As of my experience all you need to do is flashing the stock Rom or try flashing the custom Rom as you're already rooted anyhow we've got many stable ports for s5.

Hmmm, well re-formatting my phone didn't fix the problem. Gonna try a different ROM.
Looks like I'm going to flash the stock rom & bootloader and see what happens. If it's still whopper-jawed, I guess it will be ready to take it to a sprint service store for the warranty . Ugh.
