Basically i have a theory;
If somebody has already managed to port it to a Playbook on 2.3 then we could have hope. I myself am working on a hack, It could take me a while but i could do it if i work hard enough. I will update everyone as soon as i can on progress etc...

Vote/request BBM for ARMv6
I've been trying thousand times installing it and still no luck. Lately I found the update from Google Play then install it.
The updated app seems installed properly, I can see the icon in the apps list and even notification appears in the task bar: "BBM Connected" but when I tried to open it, suddenly it force closed with message appeared "Unfortunately BBM has stopped".
I'm using S5570 with Cyanogen 10.1 Jelly Bean 4.2.2. So I guess the ROM version is not the real issues. I think the app is not compatibel with my machine inside.
Let's send request to Blackberry to port BBM fro ARMv6, maybe that's the solution.
@Jeffrianz successfully ported it.

The last time everyone panicked over not being able to access the market, blaming their phones and looking for solutions, it turned out that the Market itself was down. Google fixed it and all was well with the world again.
I wonder how many people bricked their phones trying to 'fix' the problem at that time?
I need help trying to figure out why one of my apps in Google Play store will not show up with my darkside evolution ics rom on my tmo Samsung GS2 t989.
I have also heard that my app is not compatible with CM9 (not sure which device).
There have also been other reports of other devices /ics roms not compatible.
Some ppl say they can install from market but get a "device not compatible" or FC message.
I have copied the androidmanifest.XML from another of my apps that doesn't have this pics problem but that didn't fix the problem.
What else could it be?
Very frustrating because I don't see my app in the market but I see my competitors app.
Please help
The official Starbucks app has never worked for me. It crashes instantly upon clicking it, returning the following error "Unfortunately, Starbucks has stopped." I have tried clearing data/cache, uninstalling, and rebooting. It is not the app, as I tried it on my wife's GS III phone which is running a 4.1.2 ROM. It works perfectly for her. So, I fear my ROM may be missing something this apps needs.
Detective work: All other apps on my phone have been working well, including some retail-related ones such as Amazon. However, when I tried to use the Groupon app, it crashed on their loading screen. These two apps (Starbucks and Groupon) must have something in common. I have attached a log file of the Starbucks crash to see if anyone can make sense of it.
ROM: SUPERLITE CM10 JB 4.1.2 RoM, V7.0
Thanks in advance.
starbucks app running fine on liquid smooth and slim bean no issue at all
Same problem here. Play Store tells me that Starbucks app is incompatible with my device.
I am running a new install of CM 10, Android 4.1.2
People keep saying it's a 4.2 issue, but I and some others are not ON 4.2 releases.
Update:
I installed Slim Bean 3.0 a few days ago and both the Starbucks and Groupon apps work just fine. This ROM has been really stable for a few days with good battery life. Looks like a keeper for now.
Okay, so, I am still on CM 10 (STILL Android 4.1.2)
I side-loaded the Starbucks APK 2.2.3 (the newest, as of this posting) and it seems to work fine.
HOWEVER, the Play Store shows that it is installed, but still gives me a warning that the app is not compatible with my phone. Doesn't show the normal buttons for Uninstalling or Opening, so I'm assuming it won't Update as normal, either.
Sidenote: all other apps have seemed to work perfectly on my copy of this build, including Groupon.
Intriguing...
Well, the fact that Groupon works means that our issues were different. In my previous ROM (Superlite), the developer admitted that he liked his ROM's very light and therefore left many components out. One of those must have been needed by these specific retail apps, but not needed by others such as Amazon. BTW, you must have read by now that many people do have trouble with the Starbucks app. Lots of complaints in Play Store and around Google. I just ignored those because my problem went beyond Starbucks.
If you are having trouble with CM10 nightlies, try Slimbean 3.0. LIke I wrote before, it is working great so far.
Hello ;0)
I noticed a strange behaviour on my Nexus 5 (or maybe Google changed something?):
On my Nexus 4 I had an option in the settings of Google Now to activate some apps that I could search "within" the Google Search. All I had to do was to activate them and then, on the bottom of the search results, I would swipe the small bar to the right till I got to the phone entry and it would show me search results from the specified apps and I could open the app from there and it would take me to the result within the app.
For example: A search for "Sarah Miche" would pop up as "Sarah Michelle Gellar" with an imdb and a wikipedia icon, I clicked that and the wikipedia/imdb app would start and open the page about Sarah Michelle Gellar.
I quite liked that and used it a lot...
On my Nexus 5 however the option is gone. The settings are still there. In Google Now under settings-phone search but it just enables me to search apps/Chrome Beta/Contacts/Play Movies. And "apps" will just allow me to search for apps I installed on my phone not to search "inside" those apps. (See screenshots)
So I thought "Meeehhhhh, f****. They removed a feature I really liked. Guess I have to live with that..."
Now for the strange part:
I installed google search and GEL on my tablet (running Android 4.3) an the option is still there (but it´s called "tablet-search" and "tablet")
AND IT´S WORKING... (See screenshots) Same freaking Google-Search build, same freaking GEL-build....
Am I doing something wrong ?!?!? Does my phone hate me ? What´s up with that ?
Any help would be appreciated ;0)
Thanks ...
P.s.: Sorry my phone and my tablet are in german but you should get the picture ;0)
Same here, I don't even have "Chrome Beta" in the list.
But therein probably lies the answer: Google changed the way how Apps can "apply" to be shown in this list and not even the latest stock Chrome version has this feature yet (but the newer Beta does).
Also it seems to be a problem for the new GEL only, the list still works properly on my N10 with Google Search 3.1.8.x.
I've read mention of a new API for this functionality and that devs need to apply it to their apps. Just weird that Google itself hasn't applied it to all their apps.

Think you can find more info on that? As a developer I'd like to know, as my app uses the global search feature and it stopped working recently.

Any news on this?
On a side note, I created a question on Stackoverflow with the same issue.
On my nexus 7 2012 I installed the 3.1 from the Nexus 5 a few weeks ago. After a reset of Google Search data the tablet search broke like on your Nexus 5...but I only noticed it when I upgraded to kitkat. I obviously thought it was kitkat the problem until today.
The problem is how Google Search 3.x handles the list. There must be a bug of some sort.
Here's why:
On my htc one s with cm10.2 (4.3) I reset the data of Search 3.1.8 to try something only to discover that the Phone Search list was almost empty like on my tablet!
I uninstalled it and the 2.6.7 version was restored from /system/app. The phone search list was full now, even after I updated to 3.1.8.
So, basically, if you open Google Search 2.x and then you update to 3.x the list will be there like it always did.
Who updated to kitkat without resetting the data won't have any problems (or whoever update to 3.1.8 on any phone\tablet without data reset)

I found this commit in AOSP, which might be related:
https : // android.googlesource.com/platform/packages/apps/QuickSearchBox/+/ecf356c15143ab0583c64682de16d94a57f7dd1c
The commit message tells us that this feature was removed due to performance reasons (which might or might not be true, given that it references an internal ticket id and I didn't find a public issue here about this).
Since this part of the quicksearchbox is included in the ROM and released with Android 4.4, it doesn't matter which version of Google-Search you have installed. As long as you have updated to Android Kitkat 4.4 or newer, you won't be able to search the contentproviders of installed apps.
Nevertheless, I found this nifty, but ugly and ad-driven little app, which mimics device-search:
https : // play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.startapp.quicksearchbox
You should decline the initial request and ignore its Android 2.x-ugliness, though.
It takes some getting used to, but it works.

was a very usefull option :crying::crying::crying:
Hello I have installed Archidroid 2.5 ROM, but I have a problem with the research on the phone.
When I enter in the settings of google and now I open the page "search on the phone" there is no app is completely empty.
So I can not look in the app Email.
I think this problem is related to the app Google now.
So there is no way to make it work on the Cyano rom based?
Possible solution
Try to uninstall Google Search and do a update from Google Play. Worked for me.
Those looking for an offline navigation can now go to the galaxy app and download Nokia here official map for Samsung Galaxy device....
So hurry and Install the app and be tension free from Google maps which requires Internet connection for Voice Navigation..
But shows an error (SIG_FAILED)
I am Rooted and with Fast & Furious Rom .
Any one know how to get out of this situation...
I have the exact same error, i'm also rooted, don't know if it has any effect on downloads.
It's the first app in Galaxy Apps that gives me this error, i never had problems installing apps from the Galaxy Apps.
Fantastic, can and if yes, where can I download countries to my computer instead of phone?
I am rooted with X-Note ROM and Here works fine. So root is not a problem.
There are comments about installation failure in reviews section in Galaxy App Store and response from Here team telling that old version of Galaxy App Store can cause installation problems and suggestion to update app store.
Installed, Works perfectly. My only issue is I cant login to my HERE Account, It keeps saying Incorrect Email/Password - Which the same works fine on HERE Web. A few more smooth updates, and I hope I can get rid of Google Maps.
Installed & working perfectly, voice navigation working without internet, very good app

Couldn't install via net (deleted S Browser a long time ago), but reinstalled the Samsung Galaxy Apps apk and installed from there.
Working perfectly, and a nicer UI than OSMand, my default nav tool. Thanks to the OP for the tip.
