no idea on the changelog but it's MJ6 with baseband MJ4 - got the update OTA yesterday. Guess that blows rooting the phone tho as it'll have updated the bootloader from what I've read elsewhere here.
Dave
not too fussed about root as i don't really need it ATM, just glad we got an update as i normally get unbranded phones, this is the first EE phone and previously when with TMobile they took ages to update..

Hey guys,
I have flashed the European stock ROM from here on my Sensation, since it has a branded (German Vodafone) ROM.
However, I don't get the notification for the update, which is currently spread out in Europe, for the new market etc.
Also when I search for updates, it shows me that I have the current version on my phone.
Why is that so?
Have you tried searching for an update by your own? And what version are you running.
Btw. I think the market update is only for USA.
Yes, I tried to search for the update on my own with the sensation.
I am running:
1.45.401.2 with Android 2.3.4

Try to do a reset of your phone. That should do it.
You first need to get 1.45.401.3, then you'll be offered 1.50.401.1

Can I flash that without loosing my data, just like the over the air updates?
Btw. I rooted my Sensation, might this be the reason why I don't get the over the air update?
No, even on rooted phones, it will give the notification and let you download. Only at the time of installation phone will give message that you have tempered with your phone
But I cant say why you are not getting the update. I think it could be because your phone is branded. May be the update is released for unbranded phones only, till now.

Nope, my phone was branded at first, but I flashed 2.3.4 (
RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.45.401.2_Radio_10.56.9035 .00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_208857_signed) from this thread

to unbrand it.
Sorry for double post, but doesn't anyone have a solution for that?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium
Does really nobody has a clue about a solution to this problem?
Is there maybe a possibility to do the update on my own without loosing my data?
Hey F-Styla,
What is your current CID? Maybe the OTA is CID dependant and the phone is not seeing the update. When I first got my Sensation, I also debranded my phone by setting up CID 032 and flashing RUU 1.24xxx (I don't remember which one exactly) and then it got all the updates. My current version is 1.50.401.1.
PS Did you also try to manually check for the update from Settings? Sometimes the phone is too dump to see it by itself, even if you have mobile/wireless network.
Has anyone been able to get the ota update from verizon ?
I went back to completely stock 4.4.4 rom with no system roms removed, stock 4.4.4 recovery and I flashed back to 4.4.4 firmware and the verizon ota updates keeps coming up that I have the latest software.
I know its out because verizon itself even shows it on the net going over the update in detail. They even show you can also get the update through the htc sync software by plugging your m8 in to yuour computer usb port and downloading the update. Which the htc sync software keeps showing no update either.
It would show a repair software option though which I tried that knowing I would still have s-off even if they did relock my bootloader because I could change my cid and use htc dev to unlock that if I needed to.
Anyone have any luck going back to stock and taking the LP ota from verizon ?
If you want the breaking news just keep watching these forums. It will be announced AS SOON AS it's available for someone to download and the file will be captured and posted here AS SOON AS that first person can write the post.

Nothing here yet....tried all the "usual suspects"...HTC Sync Manager, Check for updates, forcing manual checkin....if I had to guess, VZW put the info for the update on their site before they actually started pushing it, and it will actually start rolling out sometime today.
The htc web site now shows the LP update is in stage 4 final but nothing showing on ota ? Verizon stop screwing with us...

Actually you can FIND OUT FASTER by checking the htc web site as they show the update process which is now on stage 4 final release. No need TO WAIT for someone to post it on here when you can find it AT THE SOURCE.
Hi all, I updated my phone months ago to sort out a problem in games, and its worked fine. However I never received the update to Android 7 or EMUI 5.0. I used firmware finder to update originally, around 6 months ago.
The update seemed to go fine, and the phone has worked great. Would the original update through firmware finder have somehow caused 'official' updates to have been turned off in some way?
Is there any way to rectify this, as I assume most people with the UK version of this phone already have Android 7 and EMUI 5.0 yeah?

If you have updater app in settings amd your phone model shows the correct details(not NRD TEST KEY) you will get update for sure.
If need help let us know we can help
Well this doesn't seem to be the case. From what I can gather most UK handsets should have received the update 3 or 4 months ago. So I think it's pretty safe to assume that my particular handset will not receive an OTA update.

Can do it manually by flashing the file manually with dload method
Thanks for the reply. I might be forced to doing it manually. But I'd really like to get to the bottom of this, what possible reason would there be for not receiving the update yet? It's been months!

Would you believe if i say i haven't got single update for more than on my 5C, full stock MM and was on the factory version for more than year then i gave up and did it myself. I tried all the method of upgrades and downgrades but none helped and even Huawei was not able to identify and push update manually after providing my IMEI. So not sure if you would be able to get the cause here
A few month ago, my phone started to pop out the software update to me asking me to update my phone, but after i clicked download, it is not really downloading, keep 0%.
I cant find the link to download it manually. Anyone can help? Can i do it manually?
I bought it in Hong Kong. My phone Version:
Andriod 8.0.0
software number: 2.31.400.6
New software update is 2.42.400.2
Is your device rooted?. If so that is why you can't get the update.

No, not rooted. But cant update without reason
Make sure you have a good wi fi connection when you do attempt to download the update. I know that the US HTC website has the latest version for download for the USA unlock phones. Good luck.
What I want to do: I was trying to OTA update my phone software to the latest, but it seems I am behind on many updates. On the AT&T website, I saw that I need the previous updates installed first, in order to get the latest ones. I have to go in order.
Problem: Every-time I try to do a software update from the settings, it says “Current software is up to date.” It’s been saying that for over a year now. I can’t even get the updates from last year.
So is there a way I can flash one of the stock firmware updates from last year on to my phone with Odin and see if it will fix the ‘over the air’ updates? Or can I just skip to the most recent firmware and flash that one.
By the way, I have never done anything like this to my phone before, so I am a bit nervous, but I want to get this problem fixed so I would love if someone helped me out. I did see some articles online about flashing stock firmware, that’s how I learned about Odin.
If this is doable, can someone please link me to a thorough tutorial on this process? If it isn’t, can you guys recommend another way of getting to the latest 8.0 stock firmware?
My phone:
Galaxy S8 plus (AT&T)
Model#: SM-G955U
Android version: 7.0
Baseband version: G955USQS1AQF7
Android security patch level: June 1, 2017
Kernel version: 4.4.16-11449429
My phone isn't unlocked.

You can Odin flash CRG3 and the next OTA should be CRHI, so once you go thru settings, check for updates it should want to go to CRHI. And then you should be in the Update path to receive OTA's automatically

Thanks, so is it okay to flash it with the latest version of Odin? Also, do you mind linking me with an up to date / reliable tutorial on this? This is my first time attempting to do something like this.
One more thing, on Sammobile, there is only one firmware available for at&t, and it's the oldest one.

Okay, and is it okay if I flash from a firmware from May 2018? It's about 4 months old. Would I be able to OTA update from there on? Also, what is AT&T userdata? I came across it in this thread and I was wondering. https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s8+/how-to/g955u-att-stock-odin-files-firmware-t3769140

Yes you can use this firmware and start to receive updates, User data I'm not 100% sure but I think its supposed to flash your data so you wont have to reinstall everything but I heard it dosent work for At&t it will still do a complete wipe before install.

I flashed it and it works great so far. Thanks for all the help! The OTA update also seems to be working!
