Sense 5 K2_UL WORKING!!! - HTC One SV

Hi everyone! I've figured out how to install the Russian RUU on to most One SV's. I've tested with my MID: PL8015000 and it works . Got the file from a post on this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2512742&page=3 but I can't reply cause i'm an xda noob Anyways what you do is download the RUU, Unzip it, edit android-info.txt and change the model number to ur mid, zip them all up again then flash away using Fastboot oem rebootRUU , Fastboot flash zip (the new zip) and this takes a while then reboot... VOILA!!! SENSE 5!!!!! enjoy Hope this helps. Do this at ur own risk.

K2_CL is out of the question. Just want to add this before someone with that phone makes an attempt without thinking about the partitions.

If that's the case, why not edit the script to flash to the correct partition for k2_cl phones?

we would still need a working boot.img.....

Not only would we still need a working boot.img but we would have to basically create our own version of the 4.2.2 OTA. It sounds simple to edit, but ultimately it is not as you would need to go in and edit many on top of many different files and that is still assuming you edit such files with the proper editor as some files require itself to hold on to its integrity. Like UTF-8 for example. At best you could always port it.

[Q]Stock Images

Are there any stock (full reset images) images such as the sbf files for the previous photon that i can flash in something like rsd lite or any other program?
Sent from my XT897 using xda premium
basically this is what we have:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33942232&postcount=12
read the full thread for details, but there was a problem with the system image portion, so Fallen Saint modified it so it would at least flash everything else. if you're unlocked you can flash the factory system separately.
i can't remember where but someone wrote recently that they would post a full file soon.
So no full file yet?

But still no full flash file that replaces everything? Like the sbf for the original photon...

unfortunately not, i don't thnk. here is where that person mentioned it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2019741&page=2
i have flashed the file that i linked above, and it seemed to work, reverted all the firmware to factory, except system... so we kind of almost have it. i suppose that doesn't help tho if you are not unlocked and are on the most recent software.
unofrtunately Motorola hasn't released a factory image: https://forums.motorola.com/posts/da76e63e1f.
Thanks... doesn't matter now as i dropped my phone 3 feet onto tile and now vibration, light sensor, tilt (acellerometer etc broke)

Help needed for BRICK

I think I may have finally done it. I flashed the latest slim rom (vers 6) today, booted into the ROM and set it up. No problems. Then I flashed faux mainline kernel. I followed the instructions for the kernel install, and hit reboot as last step. The phone shut off and did not reboot. I am now unable to turn on, boot into recovery, or download mode. When I attempt to connect to the PC to try and ODIN back to stock, the phone will not connect to the PC. I have the latest Samsung drivers installed and have connected to my PC previously with no problems. I know I downloaded and installed the right version for my phone, I have flashed kernels many times before.
Am I screwed now? I have insurance on the phone, but really would like to get the phone back from the grave if at all possible. Any help offered would be greatly appreciated.
Never heard of the kernel ... Got a link to it???

Going through the history of my browser, it looks like I did a bone head and flashed a Nexus 4 kernel to my VZ GS3. Am I screwed?
Possibly ... Your kernel tells your phone what to do and how to do it ... If you can't get Odin to connect there's a big issues but I've never flashed a wrong kernel so research around a bit for more info ... You can't get into download mode or recovery mode??

[Q] [Help]Attempting to Unroot Phone, Phone's Powercycling

Hello everyone. So today I tried to root my phone for the first time and all was fine. I could download and use apps that required root access. Then I tried to flash CM 10.1.3, and that's where things got messy. After I flashed, it was saying that unauthorized software was on my phone, and I had to go to verizon. I figured this was because my bootloader unlock didn't work. So I tried flashing a stock 4.1.2 rom, and now my phone's just powercycling. Any ideas? Yes, I am new to this, feel free to yell at me for being an idiot for forgetting some obvious thing.
I think you need to Odin back to a stock build and then repeat the entire process of rooting, unlocking, etc.
I could also be wrong, so we'll get yelled at together.

You'e right lol
@Elerock, does powercycling = stuck at the Verizon LTE splash screen or boot animation? If so, boot into recovery (hold power, home, and volume up) then do a factory reset. Root and unlock following these directions.

[Q] How to disabe Tell HTC?

In Settings>About>Tell HTC and error reporting
There is Red text in the bottom saying
This is a test device. Accordingly, to collect critical
information about the device, Tell HTC is enabled and
cannot turned off regardless of device setting
Are you S-Off?
What software are you on?
More information, please!
Have to remove the tampered flag that appears on HBoot. Remove that and it will remove the red text
I made a tutorial on this, but so far it is only known to work on K2_CL. I need certain files to determine if it can be done on other variants. I give details in my thread. Would you be willing to help me with those files? If so, go check out my thread and follow up on the instructions . Would be greatly appreciated.

The only modded Hboot was flashed by moonshine when I SOFFed the phone. That was replaced by the OTA update...
Seems your phone would have gone through a similar process to get SOFF?

No. Stock recovery has not been overwritten.
When I need TWRP, or custom recovery, I boot it from fastboot command line:
Code:
$ fastboot boot TWRP.IMG
Edit...I wasn't sure if I could restore my dd backup of stock recovery if I needed it for an OTA update...

weird, I have twrp installed, custom CID, stock boot.img, stock Hboot(except for the CID) and i DO have the red text under tell HTC?
POLL.... who here has superSU installed as system app?
I keep a copy of my recoveries on my device and pc. On device I just throw them in a PL80IMG.zip or I use dd to write the image to the recovery partition (which personally is much easier and fastest method for me).

Boost ics stock rom?

Does anyone have Boost ics stock rom? My bootloader is unlocked and I have cwm but s-on. I don't have a way to get on a pc. Can I install through recovery with a nandroid or a .zip with s-on?
Sorry I didn't mean to post this in this thread. I'm not sure how to move it..
A moderator has to move it upon request. Yes, one is available on here, but you are S-On so you may have to pull the boot file from the backup, change name to boot.img then flash it using fastboot (which requires a pc)
However, I haven't been S-On in a long time so I could be wrong about the boot.img...
@russellvone could you elaborate for me.
Sent from my C525c using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Thanks for the quick reply! I know flashing probably wouldn't work and I already tried to use a jb nandroid from my brothers phone which didn't work which is why I was wondering if a stock ics unrooted would work
I'm not real sure what happened. All I did was do factory reset in cwm and now its stuck on the HTC quietly brilliant
Haha, that's simple, when you did a factory reset in CWM you formatted your partitions. Your boot.img is still intact but you have nothing on your data, system, etc so there is nothing to load which is why you are not getting past the screen. Only do a factory reset in a custom recovery when like flashing a Rom for example. Which version OS were you on originally before you wiped your phone out ....

I don't have an ICS backup, but I know @russellvone does. He keeps stuff like this on hand for just a situation like this one. However, you should only need to flash the system.img and be good after that. I recommend doing an OTA update in your settings once you get your device back up and going. We will be receiving 4.2.2 with Sense 5 soon.
Anyways, I tagged him as you can see. Just visit back here periodically to see if he replied back. He will, I guarantee you that. He will help you restore your device

Okay, thanks for the help! Much appreciated!!! Would I have to flash the system.img with fastboot or would it be in a nandroid?
You will use your custom recovery. He will explain the steps. .

You can use a JB backup but you will need the firmware.zip that comes in the JB OTA to flash in rebootRUU to complete the process on your device.
I sent a pm to russellvone about the situation so when he responds he should already be good to go to help you out.

Lol this stuff is so confusing. I'm still a noob on this phone haha. I wish there was something like mobile odin for HTC devices
Also, go S-Off so next time if something goes wrong like this you won't need a PC (unless it is something serious lol).

Yeah I've been checking this off and on. You guys are life savers!! Thanks alot!
Your boot.img is still intact so flashing that Rom should get you booted up just fine. If for any reason you get stuck on the HTC screen then you will need to extract the boot.img and flash it with fastboot (however that shouldn't be necessary since you are still on stock boot.img for ICS)

Okay gotcha. Seriously though thanks for all the help lol. I know this is probably getting annoying with all the questions
Everyone on XDA is a noob. Don't care what their skills are. Skills just mean they have more knowledge and experience in one area but it doesnt mean they know everything. So no worries with the questions. Ask away when need to. Though, try to post in the right location next time lol
