took me a while to figure this out, tap once quickly and up in the right hand corner 3 dots should appear for a menu.. if tapping once on the image doesnt work try tapping at the very top of the screen above the image, i went crazy swiping in all directions and long pressing on the image trying to do this until someone else posted it was just a tap to get the menu dots to appear.

That totally worked. But I have a bug where when I click the image it switches to an older image.

Receiving Picture Messages Fail

I just picked up the Mesmerize for US Cellular..
And sometimes when I receive a picture message, the picture shows up in the text bubble. But more often than not, it shows up as a "Download" button in the text bubble, but when I click the Download button, nothing happens. It says that it's downloading..but it never downloads.
What's the issue here?
I've heard others having the same problem found that if the pic comes with text that it comes through. I haven't run stock OS for a while and I've only had that problem with dependencies removed from the ROM.

Well, it turns out that a battery pull solved my problem.
Figures that something that simple would cure it..

How to turn off that pesky screen capture button

I noticed that a lot of folks do not like that screen capture button. As I was running through the settings, I noticed that you can turn it off in settings, screen, quick launch. You can make the button do something else there. Now if someone can figure out a way to make the icons smaller on the stock browser I'd be set.

I think the option to change it is new to KL1.
Yeah, don't see any such option in Screen shipped OS version.
I am on KL3. I didn't like kk1 because it made it even harder to write to the external sd

[Software glitch] Horizontal lines

First please view my attached screenshot at 100%.
You can see the grey line just below "Data Usage"
Also on Settings label bar, there are multiples white/grey horizontal lines.
This happens only in Sony apps like Calendar, Phone, Message. Also because these lines show up in a screenshot, this is definitely a software glitch.
I have tried factory reset but could not fix that. Anyone experience this?
I'm running 23.0.A.2.105

So you mean the lines are the feature of the apps?
Those are just separation lines, its not a glitch. Its like that in almost if not all Android phones I have seen. So don't worry.

He's not talking about any single shadow; he's taking about the lines between the list items.
Erm... You realize every version of Android has this right?
They're simply seperation markers between the different menu's
(Random pic off Google images)
No, you guys didn't understand my point.
Of course I know the grey separators below every item.
I have attached another photo to clarify my point. Please view at 100%. Notice the lines right at the arrow head.
The thing is, even when I scroll down the menu, the line is still there at the same position. So the absolute position of the line is 3cm below the top of the screen.
Those aren't visible to me unless I zoom all the way in, and even then they are very faint.

MMS glitch in stock Messages app

I've noticed when trying to send pictures on the stock Samsung messages app the thumb nail for selected pictures doesn't seem to go away after sending them. Does anybody else have this issue?
i have had a few texts and picture messages fail to receive and send. I am using the stock samsung message app. I had this same issue all the time on my m8 GPE with marshmallow using google messenger. I had to start using textra to fix the issue.
It's only happened a few times with the stock samsung message app. So I'm going to keep trying it, I like to have the message icon on my screen.

as to the thumb nail issue you are having. I'm not 100% clear on what you're describing.

Kinda difficult to explain exactly with words, but when you attach a picture a small window appears with a thumbnail of your selected picture. Once I click send it should disappear, but the thumbnail just stays. Example: i.imgur.com/l5vriJl.jpg

Yes there is. You can either have no drawer or a drawer icon. I'll let you discover how in settings.
Go to settings then display and turn on easy stand
Easy stand? Haven't seen that yet...
I think I didn't explain myself correctly, I want to get rid of the Text message that scrolls from time to time and keep the swipe...
same issue

I remember that it's some built in "help and tips " app but I don't remember what it's exactly called. In it you can disable all these annoying hints.

Really hope so, 2 days of use 1 reboot to install the update.... Still there...
Hello, I have figured this out after searching and coming up empty. It was annoying me too.
Press and hold on the home screen like you're going to add a widget. Click 'home screen settings'. Click apps button and choose 'show apps button'
The swipe motion will still work to open the apps.
Take care

Use the Samsung members app. Log in and use the device management in there to clean ram and storage. It stopped for me after using that.
Just enable and apply the Apps Button, then disable and apply the Apps Button and it will go away.
use nova launcher,done,never appears.
Just got a new replacement device after a cracked screen and the "swipe up Or down on screen for all apps" won't go away on home screen. Never an issue on my old device. Does anyone have any new details on this besides a work around?
I will go away in a week or so. Mine was driving me nuts and it went away without me doing anything.
Just scroll up or down through the app/home screen 20-30 times in a row and it will go away. It was driving me nuts and I found this discussion. Saw it was going away after a certain amount of time so I scrolled through it a ton and it was gone. Lol.
Reboot
I went through the swiping up and swiping down and it still showed the message after. But then I shut down the phone and powered it on and it was gone. Just like another user mentioned.
