Hi folks,
I have noticed that whenever I was trying to share a video from youtube or sharing a link from dropbox or google drive , I can ONLY share it thru Hangout !! but I have other apps I wanted to share with like Viber,Whatsapp...etc.
So I installed 8sms app and made it default messaging app and then disabled the Hangout from settings , and this solved the issue .
I do not know if there is any other to keep using Hangout yet being able to share things with different apps.
If any body knows how to share things with other apps and still keep using hangout ,plz let me know ?
thanks .
I've had the same thing happen, but it will only let me share URLs through G+. Uninstalling/disabling and re-installing doesn't help.

FIXED by opening phone settings, opening Apps settings, hitting the menu button and choosing 'reset app preferences' (http://i.imgur.com/aCkKFX2.png), and clicking ok (http://i.imgur.com/Geutxg1.png)
Go to Settings-->Apps-->3 dot menu and hit "reset app preferences". This will clear all sharing defaults.
Apparently, either there's a bug in Kitkat or an app that auto defaults sharing to the app you last shared to. So if you shared something to G+ before the bug kicked in, all subsequent shares go to G+ without "share" menu popping up.

Thank you! This was driving me nuts.
Hi, I had the same bug on 4.4 and I think I found the app responsable.
Here steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Google Keep, select share
2. Select a Service and press just once.[2]
3. Open another app (Chrome) and try to share.

No joy. Although Keep seems to be the only unaffected Google app. In my case, it keeps defaulting to FB. I've found that if I disable FB I get the menu back. Not a big deal for me since I rarely use FB anyway.

While we wait for Google to fix the problem, you can just switch out the share menu using Andmade Share app. It's free and it works.

"reset app preferences" doesnt work!!

Where do you access this screen? When I open the "Google" app it redirects me straight to the Google search bar on the homescreen.
long tap on your home screen then hit settings

That brings me to the Google Settings app, which is something totally different.
I'm inclined to believe that I've hit a Kitkat bug where not signing in with my Google account at first boot throws off Google Now activation. I've never seen something like this since Google introduced Google Now.

Not sure if bug or just the way they set it now, but it's too complicated to get to. Should be just an on/off option.

Hello:
I would suggest to any developer interested in a tool that can be very helpful for compulsive flashers. This would be an application that automatically execute for a few seconds predefined applications you've selected to close them and run the application from the list below. So that would serve this?
Simple, when we do a clean installation of a ROM on our smartphone, restore backup "Titanium Backup" of all our user applications with their settings. The problem is that many applications that have restored, not running (for example, to receive notifications of Whatshapp) until it is opened for the first time, and you are forced to blink one at a time which is precious time lost alone in that. If you have many applications installed you can make very heavy. With this application it would only automatically go to opening and closing applications, for example, 20 seconds during each application.
I believe that this tool would be the 2nd most important and useful after Titanium, since the procedure for flashing is done usually be:
1. Full Wipe, root, recovery.
2. Reflash the ROM
3. Restore backup with Titanium.
4. Run Application of Auto Start (which I am proposing).
I know of no application to do this, the more I found is like Auto Start, but has two drawbacks that does not allow too comfortable to use.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.autostart&hl=es
1. No check box to select the applications you want it to boot. Because as it is, if the list of selected applications is large at some point you do not know which you have selected.
2. Makes the auto start at boot mobile, it is best to do so at any time, no need to restart the smartphone.
Upload a screenshot of Auto Start to give you an idea of what I mean. As you comprobareis in capturing, Auto Start will start 7 applications (the blue) within 90 seconds of the mobile boot, and will open and close every 20 seconds by the order of the list of blue.

Yes, I think it also has to be an easier app development for someone who has developed an app, while being extremely useful.
If you decide to develop it, I'd be a beta tester of the app.
This tool think it has great potential, not only that I mentioned earlier when you flash it with Full wipe.
For example, if you use Clean Master, sometimes you get a warning about optimizing memory, and click what happens is that applications close completely, and no longer work at 2nd level, and if not you return opened manually will not receive notifications or whatever. These are called task killers apps, which do not recommend, but there are people who use them.
With this app Auto Start solves the problem in one click.
Anyone is encouraged to develop this app ?

In the Themes section of S8 +,
(similar thread as yours)
Some members that had same issue,
cleared Bixby "cache" (Settings /Apps /Bixby... cache) Afterwards they managed to do update.
Good luck
Same problem here. Shows update available, click update, and says I have the latest version.
I updated but no voice options at all I think it was just the ui change

I was earlier checking for a app shortcut
with QuickShortcutMaker app and saw
Bixby voice etc all listed and installed
but not enabled. Obviously
missing some other.. software ?
See screenshots
i do believe we might still wait a few months for voice input.
Bixby, i mostly use, for easy access to my to email accounts.
Just press button and i can read my new emails.!
I am still on old Bixby version
Not sure if anyone else has noticed but if you are using the samsung keyboard and hit the voice button it appears to use bixby for dictation. Interesting....

Sorry to disappoint you, but it's not my device's theme!
Theme, icons, fonts (in screenshots) from 3rd party app QuickShortcutMaker (free Play store)
Maybe download, install
and the search for something similar.? (Reason is, you can always compare themes )
Good luck
Maybe this is update?

My phone is relatively new, not rooted yet, I keep cache clean, got ad blockers for non-rooted phones like ad clear and block-this and yet I have that intrusive pop-up ad after EVERY call !
Easy to ignore and close it....but.... a pop-up ad on a system app??
That's how I solved this issue on my LG V20 running Nougat:
Go to:
Settings / General / Google Services / Ads / Opt out of Ads Personalization
That did the trick for me ....
A pop up ad after every call....way to go, Google
My 2 cents
Hi, I'm using a Nokia 3 (TA-1032), upgradef rom Android 7.0 to 8.0.0. I've tried the above solution (or rather Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization) but it did not help one bit. I still get the following type of pop-up after each call:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When I click the 'ads' button, it takes me to the Google dialog for adding a payment method (creditcard/PayPal/voucher). I believe the ads dangling from the top right corner of the home screen still show up occasionally but this post-call pop-up ad shows after each call (different ads).
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Ok, as it turns out I can't post pictures yet because of the 10-post rule. I tried posting the URL but that just takes me to a similar hurdle. Can you see the image by copy/pasting the image URL from the botched post above?
Nope, I can't see the image.
I had this problem quite a while ago, so I don't even remember what else I did then.
I guess that if you keep on googling , using the right key words you will find other solutions.
Here is another one for instance:
https://us.community.samsung.com/t5...fter-the-call/m-p/164985/highlight/true#M4228
Good luck
I did manage to find it out eventually. An app called 'QuickCall' appears to have been the culprit. It's odd, since -- as far as I can recall -- initially after I installed it, it did not show any ads.
Thanks again for your help.
As soon as I finish talking to someone who called me (received call) and drop the call, a blue window shows on my screen (covering the whole screen) which says Caller ID on top and kinda gives information about a call I received. I tried to access tabs and see if theres some app opened, but there are no open apps. Just a pop-up after every call showing some information about the call.
On my S9, I was able to go to Settings, Google, Ads and Opt out of Ads Personalization, however, this just changed the ads to non personalized ads. What the issue was is that Google added a screen after the phone call is done that allows you to enter a note and that page has the ad on it. To get rid of this, on that same page, click the button to turn off add note after call. From that point on, the ad doesn't show and you go back to the view contact screen instead. You still have to back out of the contact screen instead of the enter note screen but at least you don't see the ad anymore.
I had the after call ads with Drupe...I installed AdClear and poof! Awesome app...a must have for non-rooters!
My Solution(worked)
Culprit app was vault. Open vault app, go to settings and uncheck call reminder.
in my case a notepad app started to give ads. I saw its tiny icon in the top left corner of ads, uninstalled the app. It fixed the problem.
It is showing because of vault app
Thanks @ahemersquad its works.
The default contacts app is doing a good job in the sense that it launch quickly (no lag) and it does what I ask it to do. My only pet peeves is this message telling me to try sharing my profile. Is their a way to remove this message? I already disabled contact sharing in settings but this message is still there (see attached image). I tried to use Google Contacts app as a replacement but it's not as fast, I see stutters and lags when I launch the app and it's enough to bug me.

I was hoping it would disappear by uninstalling the service it depends on but it didn't work. In the case of the themes section of settings menu, it disappear from the menu as soon as you uninstall com.samsung.android.themecenter
