[Q] uh___ bootloader option? - General Questions and Answers

It seems I'm stuck in bootloop after font installation.
I have an HOV on primou.
If I understand it correctly, I should be able to boot into recovery from the phone and just install the backup I made from CWM- correct?
Problem is, I can't access the recovery menu on the phone...
Did this option change when I flashed a new ROM?
Stock hov gave access to this using the power and volume keys...
Of course hoping to do this from the phone w/out the pc.
Anyway, I advice is greatly appreciated thanks.

[Q] Can't Start Stock recovery mode

Hi
Just Today i noticed that i can't start my Stock recovery mode, I am currently on 8.6.5.21 stock Firmware,
The only thing i did was rooting the Device using NachoRoot and i did not Have any problems while rooting, everything went very smoothly, i rooted the tablet and then installed the superuser app, after that i did batch Backup using Titanium Backup and finally installed rootkeeper
A while ago i tried to boot to recovery mode then i got the picture of the Android with the exclamation mark ( ! ) inside of it.
I would like to know wither this is normal after rooting or not because before i never really tried to boot to stock recovery mode.
if not is there anyway i can retrieve the Stock recovery mode?
I mean as far as i know almost everything you'd want to do you'll have to do it using whatever recovery mode you have.
If there is anything you can help me with, it'd be much appreciated.
Thank you
come on guys 35 views and not a single answer
at least someone tells me wither it is normal or not
Seems normal to me unless you have something on the Microsd that you want to flash.

so what you are saying is, i have to have a micro sd card inserted with something to flash in order to boot to recovery mode?
I mean what if i want to wipe the data in the device or restore factory settings?
I don't really think it is normal, can anyone please confirm it?
He is right, that is normal.
That is your stock recovery. The stock recovery doesn't do anything except scan for an update file. If it detect one it flash it, if not you get that Android with exclamation symbol. while holding Vol down plus power button and wait till you see the prompt, if you push Vol up within 5 sec it take you to recovery but if you wait a little longer you'll get a prompt to either wipe data our cold boot device

[Q] HELP! lg g2 stuck in boot loop

I have an at&t LG G2 D800 the android version is 4.2.2. my phone is ROOTED and I do have PHILZ Recovery. I was trying to do a hard reset or factory reset not sure what the difference is. what seemed to happen in the process is my phone was almost completely formatted and now i have access to only download mode and I can get into Philz Recover still. other then that when i boot my phone up it just gets stuck on LG boot up screen and my LED notification light blinks. need help please. cant seem to find solution or I just haven't looked in the right place yet. if anyone knows how to help or at least point me in the right direction. I give huge thanks in advance.
So you have a custom recovery installed. Good! Head over to your phones forum section and look for a stock ROM if you can find it.
If not then find an aftermarket one. Once you have found one. Download the needed files. Some included Google apps and some don't. It'll state it. Download the two zips or one if everything's together. Boot into recovery mode on your phone, and select storage and mounts.
From there go to the bottom or look for mount internal SD card or external SD card. Mount it. Then transfer the files you had downloaded to the root of your phone. Once done. Un mount it and remove the cable. Go to the menu of the recovery, select factory reset option. Then install the .zips.
Your phone should then boot up. Something must have gone wrong when you had done a hard reset.
Reply back when you've done the above. And tell me how it went.

I have the same problem. I was running 4.2.2 rom under twrp recovery. Then I flasher Philz and flashed 4.4.2 rom. I was unsatisfied with it so I flashed back the old recovery so I could restore the backup. I booted twrp, recovered the backup and reeboted the system. After booting it was saying some crap like this and that procces stopped. Now Im flashing the .zip (just downloaded rom, no data), and after that its there just the boot loop (lg picture and blinking LED). Please help what to do :good:
you should flash via download mode with kdz file to go back to stock
I don't know if it's better etiquette to semi-hijack this thread or post a new thread, but I've created the same problem for myself today. I instaled TWRP recovery successfully and downloaded a CM11 nightly along with gapps for CM11. Today I installed the zips but when my phone rebooted it started the endless LG logo loop thing, which sounds the same as he describes.
I can't seem to boot into my recovery with any key combination. Volume up and power, volume down and power, they all lead to a "Hardware Key Control Mode" menu. At this point my goal is a factory reset. Maybe the same solution that helps him will help me? I need to get the phone into either download mode or to the TWRP menu.

[Completed] Moto E 1st Generation Boot Animation UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER Boot Loop Please Help!

Hi, I'm new to XDA. Sorry if I did something wrong already. But I have a problem, I tried installing a new boot animation to my moto e 1st gen (bootloader was unlocked, it was rooted too). Now whenever I turn the phone on, The WARNING BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED image shows up, but there is no boot animation. I cannot access anything, I can only go into recovery mode and CWM. I have tried factory reset using Recovery Mode (No success, just does WARNING boot loop again ) I have also tried factory reseting through CWM, till no success. I am giving up, I just recently bought this phone. NAY help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello,
Can you tell us what firmware was your phone running? Also what recovery do you have on your phone?
If stock, you may try flashing stock firmware via fastboot.

Thanks for responding so quickly! But I fixed the problem a few minutes after posting this . But there is a new problem, I downgraded from Android 5.0.2 to Android 4.4.2. After doing this the phone worked perfectly. Then a few minutes later it installed a system update for 4.4.4 and now the phone is hard bricked. I can't access recovery mode, CWM, or even turn the phone on now. Before charging the phone, if I held the power button for a long time, the LED lit up and turned back off. Now there is no response from the phone at all no matter what I do.
Also, I had ClockWorkMod and stock recovery on my phone (Is stock recovery the one that shows up when you hold power+volume down? If so I had both CWM and stock) But now I can't access either recovery modes. If it at least went into stock recovery, I'd flash stock firmware, root it, install CWM, and flash a Lollipop zip. (I like Lollipop, I don't know why there are so many people that hate Lollipop )
Any help would be much appreciated. All i need now is a way to flash files without going into recovery mode on phone.

Help Recovering my Droid-X (wont boot past M Logo) - Root+ROM somehow?

So I pulled out my old Droid-X today to use for secondary reasons (rooting, development, etc)..
Unfortunately, after charging and attempting to power on, it hangs at the "M" (Motorola) Logo Screen indefinitely!
:crying:
I AM however able to power it on into the Recovery options!!
(I whiped the system Cache but it didn't help)..
Anyhow..
At this point, I want to explore options how to Recover the phone - ways to Root it and load a Custom ROM.
Unfortunately though, I am NOT ABLE to access the Phone's Settings to allow Debug mode, or allow Third-party apps, etc..
So is there a way to Recover the phone by Rooting+Custom ROM, considering it wont Boot past the "M" Logo?
Any and all help is VERY MUCH appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

hello!!
As you said the phone isn't booting up.
so i may recommend you flashing a stock rom first through the working recovery.
or if you want to have a custom one then it will let you do so through the fastboot ( but device should be rooted!).
if you are interested to install a custom rom that can be done but you need to reflash your phone to the stock rom.
that's the fix.
Thanks for the reply! So when you say to "flash a stock rom", you're just saying to boot up into the recovery menu using the volume key, and simply selecting the factory wipe/restore option? Correct? From there, (assuming it was able to successfully flash to stock and boot up completely), I would then be able to achieve root and flash a new rom.. Sounds simple enough. Thanks. Also though, you said "or if you want to have a custom one then it will let you do so through the fastboot" -- how exactly would I go about doing that? ..you say "but device should be rooted" which it's not. So I'm guessing that makes the 2nd option impossible, meaning I only have 1 option, which is the factory wipe, is this correct?
Thanks! :good:

Just booting into recovery and factory reset is not the method .you need to flash a stock ROM from the update option.
Then only you will boot. Here is the link to the stock ROM (gingerbread)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517985
Hope it might help.
Download file( PC) put it on sdcard and flash it. Done.
Then you can install CM 11 on your device after you root it through kingoroot once you install this stock ROM
You can also yourself search for stock ROM for droid X if this didn't helped.
Good luck:good:
Hit thanks if helped
