Hi there,
I already contacted Google Support and have received a replacement device and the issue still exists.
When I try to save an attachment inside the stock email app the files never show up in the stock Gallery or Downloads app.
But by using a third party alternative gallery like !Quick Pic! it is all displayed properly.
Unfortunately Google wasn't able to help me with this issue what is fatal if your rely on EMAILS!
Does anyone know a solution to this bug?

Hey guys,
Just flashed to 2.2 and its working great. Only annoyance is contact pictures no longer show up in the messaging app. They show up fine in contacts, but won't show in the message app. I've seen a lot of users with similar issues, but not many on Samsung phones.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Hmm just noticed this on mine as well.
Well the issue seems to be app specific. Downloaded Handcent and Chomp and they pulled the images perfectly fine.
It appears the messaging app no longer pulls pictures from linked accounts. Set one by hand on the main contact and it started pulling the picture so I guess it can be fixed with one of the Facebook photo sync apps. Annoying but seems like the only solution at the moment.
Hi Guys.
Got my transformers just last friday and it rocks.
I have 2 downloading issues:
1- When I try to download zip files from the email app, it says restricted for security rerasons. I even tried with K9 but it doesn't work either. Can you suggest a solution please?
2- I have emails with jpg attachments. The email client shows the attachments but won't download, saying "there is no application to read the file". Has anyone faced the issue? Any help?
PS: i already updated to 3.1.
are you downloading from the gmail app or the other mail app?
gmail doesn't appear to have this restriction.
[Q]Gallery App Issues: Failed to Download list of Albums? [Stock ICS 4.0.3]
Anyone having this issue in the Gallery App? I've connected to Picasa and downloaded all my albums, however, anytime I open the gallery app that popup appears ...
I too am getting this all of a sudden, any fix?
I've had this issue ever since I had the OTA.
It happens every single time I open the gallery app. Can anyone confirm for me if they turn off their data/wifi then open the gallery app, that the above message appears? Thanks.
Same Here...
I am seeing this same issue on my Transformer Prime.
Perhaps Google broke something on their end.
PS. I reported it as an issue to Google #24588 (I am not able to post links yet)
If you all could add a comment on the issue stating you device and android version google might be able to fix this sooner.
Same here, after updating to ICS 9.4.2.11.
Also from transformer prime
I also noticed that this pop-up only appears when I am not connected to DATA/WiFi.

Thanks, will do. And welcome to XDA.
Seems more and more are reporting to the bug nummer at google.
Any way/chance we can get more attention from google and/or manufacturers to fix this issue?
You have to disable Sync Google-photos on your account & sync settings. It is located at settings>accounts and sync>your gmail account. Untick Sync Google-Photos.
It works for me.
But I want my photos synced
Hey Guys,
I have the latest gmail app on my nexus 4, running Android 4.4.3 KitKat. I am unable to download any attachments through the app, and it is beginning to bother me. I have had this issue over the past gmail app versions, and from 4.4.2 KitKat also. Pictures say they can't load, and any other files fail to download, and retrying doesn't help. A workaround that I can use now is saving everything i need to Google drive from within the gmail app, and accessing them from another app, but this isn't a permanent solution. I have tried wiping gmail cache, gmail data, and completely uninstalling gmail and reinstalling it from the play store after a reboot, all to no avail. None of the solutions I have found work. If you guys Know how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi
I have the same problem!!?? it is very annoying please anybodies have a solution? I cant't open any attachment via gmail app always I use save to drive to see any attachment via my mobile device.
Hey,
I never solved the issue and from Browsing around it seems it happens to some people and not to others. I just use the drive workaround now, because I have nothing else left to try.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Free mobile app
Hi
Yeah the same as me, I feel tired of finding a solution for this problem. it is very wired that Google didn't mention this problem or solving it by newest version of gmail app because I found many threat talking about the same issue without a solution. many of member say to switch to K9 app instead of gmail app but the problem that in the k9 there are no categories like gmail ( Primary, Promotion, Social, Forums) I used them a lot because I don't like to get a notification when a new email come to one of these categories except Primary. these feature doesn't exist in another email app like K9.
Does anyone use Hangouts for SMS/MMS? I'm having an issue where there are no Profile Pictures showing up at all beside the contact name. When I uninstall the Update of 2.1.317 which downgrades it to 2.0.x, the profile pics are all fine.
Just wondering if anyone else has this issue or is it just me?
Hey, its a known issue with the hangouts app. Google haven't pushed a fix for it yet. Issue should be fixed with Android L release so there's not much point in them pushing the fix now.......apparently.

Awesome thanks. Couldn't really find anyone with the issue when searching so it's good to know.
Also I noticed the Gmail app shows no contact photos either so I'm guessing ill just wait for Android L.
