Multi DPI play store? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just got my N5 a couple of days ago. Rooted it and I immediately changed the DPI as the stock DPI for me was way too big. Tried flashing the multi DPI play store from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839871 but the 4.3+ version doesn't seem to work on KK. OP seems to be working on a KK version though. Anyone have a work around for this in the mean time as I can't download certain apps due my custom DPI. Thanks.

hmm no dice with Candy Crush Saga - able to get Angry Birds Go now though - unless they updated that, back in November wasn't able to install it.
Any other apps that don't like us using different DPI?
LOL clicked on your link and it is a different tool to the one I used

Try settings/applications and find play store and clear cache/data then reboot. If that dont work then try re installing play store
tried what you said sir, but still wont update some apps.
hmm,, have i seen some double posting here,
users are discouraged to do so- you know...
...anyway, have you flashed gapps from the fully samsung thread,
or are you trying a playstore that was in the rom ( without flashing gapps )...

Some time ago, android market was themed and patched against updating,
I'm very fond of transparency in the roms and apps, so, 've been using
transparent version ( and much earlier, smaller in size )...
Now however, everything has changed, and whether you like it or not,
playstore is been updating to a current version automatically- perhaps that'd be your chance to solve the issue..
Try some older release, in the worst case it'll get updated,
In some rom thread- in the OP ( but not quite sure now-which )
I've seen a solution for non working playstore...

The problem is patched version of the play store in CROMi-X. Candy crush saga thinks it should offer the non tegra 3 version. I don't have a reliable fix yet.

Why dont you just delete your new version that does not work and down load the APK for the version you were using that worked fine and side load it?
Do a google search for the APK with the Version Number that worked for you
the fix for the play store is working now guys (just in case you hadnt seen lol)

I updated an app this afternoon and it now appears in a third category, recently updated (normally I just got installed or update). I believe this is a change.
Sent from my rooted Speak and Spell running OS X Mountain Lion.
thanks :good:
Finally this time Google shared few point of change log...
1. recently updated tab
2. Notification Club.
3. Bug fixex
4. Over the top new version
If you click the link it has the whole article from Androidpolice regarding the change.
There seems to be an additional update, though the version number has not changed. (I could tell because my anti virus ran a check on an update).
Perhaps a quick big fix? I did notice a minor graphical issue (one featured app tile was over sized).

MagioRom for mini

Hey @tr1gg3r84 I was wondering when you are going to make a rom base on the 1.24.502.3 because this version is able to play all the new games on the play store with full effects except for mc4 which I have a mc4 apk file that makes it full effect. It would be great because many people want to play those awesome games on their mini device and 1.24.502.3 would be more stable. I think it's the latest ota/update

1.4xxxxxxx is on the way - and maybe you should post those questions in the ROM - thread - no need for a new one!

DashClock Update

It'd be nice if we had access to DashClock updates like anyone else. Today a new version of DashClock came out on the Play Store but we can't update it because it's inbuilt into Omni.
+1 for this
Delete /system/app/DashClock.apk of change its extension.
Reboot.
Install this apk - http://www10.zippyshare.com/v/33890457/file.html

i know, but the error was reported to be corrected in next build. :fingers-crossed:
Just tried updating on latest nightly and still getting the error. Even deleting the apk and rebooting I can't install from the Play store. Maybe remove DashClock from Omni altogether, it's easy enough to install from the store and we'll be able to get updates when they're released and not have to wait for a new hold of the ROM, this is far to much like a OEM/carrier restriction.

I removed the .apk that comes with OmniROM, rebooted, and installed the newest version from UtkarshGupta's link. Everything went fine.
Now for the .apk to survive between updates, all you have to do is add the DashClock.apk to an .sh script in the /system/addon.d directory. Works like charm on my manta (Nexus 10).

I'd rather be able to just update from the store and not have to worry about scripts. I'm also in the DashClock beta program which I don't get with it being included in the ROM. I know it's possible to do as you stated but I'd prefer to do it via the store and still be involved in the beta program.

+1.
There's something I don't really understand, though.
As far as I can tell from the changelog, Dashclock updates should have been added to Omni on 1/1-14. But even though I just tried removing the system APK and updating to the latest nightly build of Omni, it's still running Dashclock 1.5 build 26... Should that not be 1.6 build 30?
Yeah I'd noticed that as well. Will have to try and bring this up as a feature/bug request on their jira tracker if they have one.
