No call sound MIUI - T-Mobile LG G2x

Hi guys,
I got 2nd hand G2X few days back. Earlier it was running ICS, changed it to CM7. Everything works fine in CM7. Today came across a MIUI ROM for G2X. I flashed it but getting no sound while calling or getting call. How to resolve this issue, Please guide.
Thanks in advance.

What version of MIUI are you running?
I would usually recommend flashing the new baseband fix but since you didn't have this problem with the other roms it's most likely a separate issue. Have you made sure you have a matching RIL with your baseband? An app called GetRil from the play store can do that for you. If that doesn't work I would recommend doing a full wipe and reflashing. Make sure you do a factory data reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, and finally under mounts and storage select format /system. After all this is done, flash your ROM. I have had many issues flashing between ICS, GB and MIUI roms if I forget to do a complete wipe with the inclusion of format /system.
Good luck! Let us know if the problem still persists.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I myself think its a baseband issue. Can you please link me to the thread where I can get the compatible baseband zip? It should resolve the problem.

I cannot give you a link to flash a baseband itself but I can give you a link to a thread that has the baseband FIX for your current baseband. Go into your phone settings, select about phone and check what baseband you are running. After you do that select the corresponding baseband fix from the link that I have given you. I also highly suggest using GetRil if you haven't already to make sure that your RIL and Baseband are matching.
Link to baseband fix zip file - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776843
Download the link, enter recovery and flash. Post here with results!

[Q] Can't receive MMS; ROM, kernel, radio, firmware?

Hi,
Got a HTC Sensation a couple weeks ago.
Installed CM7 alpha 10 with Bricked 1.6 Kernel, upgraded radio to the one suggested in CM7 thread.
I can't receive MMS messages. The message comes but it fails to download the attachment.
I am with Fido in Toronto, Canada. The phone was initially a Bell phone. I unlocked it via "method 2".
3G works fine, phonecalls work fine, SMS works fine. I tried all the APN settings I could find on the internet. I called fido and they couldn't do anything.
Could it be a problem with the phone? If not, what should I look at?
Check that your Radio matches your RIL via the sticked thread in the Android development section. If data works on your phone then it's most likely your APN mms settings.
Yes, data works. (So can't be RIL issue?)
I tried all the MMS APN configurations I could find on the internet for Fido. I even tried the ones that worked on my Motorola Milestone. Still can't download the attachment.
Never said it can't be RIL. Go into Settings->About Phone. What is the baseband listed?
Also, have you had someone else send you a different MMS and see if it works? Could be a problem with that specific MMS.

Yes, a few people tried.
I had the same issue on Rogers and I figured out that under the APN settings, you need to just put "*"(without the quotations). Not sure if that will work for you or not, but it can't hurt to try. Make sure to reboot after applying the APN settings.

Well your RIL doesn't match your radio. You should be using the 10.58 radio with this RIL.

Though I heard about that adding the asterix to APN Type has fixed issues in the past. Remember to reboot after trying. Do a little bit more research into it, I'm not entirely sure...

Thanks man. I never really thought about RILs before. So many things to think about. Firmware, Radio, RIL, Kernel, ROM...
I went to the Radio thread and it was saying to just flash the one I did. After reading a bit about RILs, I think it would be best to match them. But is it better to flash another radio, or another RIL?
From: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202867
"Note: If a ROM has a recommended radio , the ROM is already Pre-Matched to that Radio by having the matching RIL files included in it by the ROM chef. For example the InsertCoin 2.1 (2.3.4) ROM will already have the 169 RIL because it requires the latest radio, so I do not want to go flashing the 159 (TMOUS RIL) onto this ROM if I have the recommended radio installed.

No, I went to apply update or install zip (and then you choose which one off the sd card). Can you tell me how to do it exactly? Also, I thought since they were "repackaged" you wouldn't have to.
EDIT: just tried with mounting system first. Still nothing. I even tried re-flashing the radio. Same thing. Baseband unknown.

Yeah, the booting after flashing the radio is a known bug.
Ok, the new radio+RIL is doing the same thing. Baseband version shows unknown and no signal (obviously). Something about how I'm flashing the RIL is wrong...
EDIT: Doing nandroid restore until someone has a better suggestion
So get this. Nandroid restored my old RIL files. And those happen to match the last radio I flashed, 10.58. So now radio and RILs supposedly match. Still can't download mms attachment. Where can I try this * fix??

[Q] Fresh install of CM7. CAN send texts, but CAN'T receive any

Hello everyone, I'm new here and new to all the rooting and flashing business.
I just installed CyanogenMod 7.2 on my LG-P999 for the first time. Literally everything was going well except for the fact that I can't receive text messages. When I text people they receive it though, and call still works perfectly. I haven't tried of mobile network works yet because I don't have enough prepaid load
I should also mention that I am not using T-Mobile anymore as I am in another country. My SIM is connected to Globe Telecom in the Philippines.
I've tried restoring my backup of the stock ROM, yet that doesn't bring the texts in either, and it disconnects my network when I try running a USSD code. I really can't pinpoint the problem so can anyone please help me out? :crying:
Thank you
Go into wireless settings and make sure your APN is set up correctly.
If that doesn't work, maybe you need to flash the baseband fix. I can't link to it from my phone, but do a search on the forums.

Okay, I flashed that baseband. I also took the initiative and flashed Mazout360's custom kernel, but still no dice
Have you checked your apn settings? Do a Google search for what your device and carrier's apn settings should be and make sure they match.
On a side note (not surrle if this will work or not but worth a shot) download Getril from the playstore. Its free. Open it and use it to check to make sure your ril and baseband are matching. When i flashed cm7 my ril and baseband did not match
-custom sig.

Yeah, my APN is perfectly fine, double checked online. I think it even got the settings straight from the SIM.
And oh boy. It says "Unkown RIL file found" and that my "RIL and baseband 'might' match". So yeah, I probably should download a new RIL, but do you know which one it is? I'm using the March 2012 baseband with the fix you linked earlier.
This really sounds like your sim card isn't working right. Maybe you could try getting a new one and see if that works. As for ril download getril and have it install v21y.
Okay, I took it to the extreme and completely restored my stock ROM, flashed the stock recovery, and unrooted my phone.
And... I get the same problems as with CM7...
I put in my mom's SIM card (same carrier) in my phone too to try it out. Again, same issues. Tried it with my dad's (different carrier). And again, same issues.
A peculiar thing I found is when I type in the USSD code *143# (the code for managing your prepaid account), the calling app crashes and the whole phone disconnects from the network service. At that point there's no way for the radio to work again except for a reboot.
This is getting really weird...
I'm out of idea man. The only thing left that I could think of would be to use ROM for recovery using NvFlash. I've seen Mansa_Noob recommend it to people telling them that it basically rebuilds the phone from scratch at the lowest possible software level.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248644 Here's the link to the thread about ROM for recovery. I have never used it and I know nothing about using KDZ firmware of LG updater tool. All I know about this method really is that it's a last resort for the G2X that makes it "unf**kable" lol

After installing KitKat no mobile data

It all started when I installed Beanstalk 4.4.2 on my S3. LTE/4G started working intermittently. I thought it was the rom so I flashed Gummy's latest 4.4.2 nightly build but am still having problems with my data connection. Data worked intermittently for a while, but now has completely stopped working. I have tried flashing other KitKat AOSP roms, but am not able to get mobile data back. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Thanks!

Ringtones, notification, music and some gallery albums are missing

Hey guys, I'm having a problem here.two days ago I had a problem with my play store which would not open, so I thought of flashing my ROM and gapps again in hopes of getting the problem solved. I wiped my cache partitions along with my system partition and flashed it, everything went well, play store started working again but this time I got a couple of different problems. My ringtones and notification tones are missing, when I click on the options for changing them there's just one option (none). My music player can't read any music files, even though I have many of them. And gallery has some albums missing. I was on cm12.1 and I flashed to liquid smooth v4.1 in hopes of fixing the problem. But the problem still persists, what should I do to fix it. Please help me on this one.

-unzip modem.zip
-shut down your phone and pull the battery out
- in odin untick auto reboot
- put the battery back in and go straight to download mode ( home, power and vol up i think,if not that vol down ^^ )
- in odin put the modem file in the 'cp' slot or what so called ( it should be cp but better look it up )
-Start flashing and wait untill it's finished ( green button lights up )
-Then reboot your phone and under phone info it should be allright.
