Fake Operator
Fake Operator is a Cydia Substrate tweak for Android and iOS. To my knowledge it works on all Android 4.0+ devices (except Sense based ROMs). The point of this tweak is to easily change your operator name without having to touch XML files.
This is an open source tweak and you can view the code on github the public version is available on the Play Store please install Cydia Substrate first. The release on the Play Store currently on supports GSM devices a beta version is attached to the post that supports GSM and CDMA devices. If you have any suggestions please let me know, once the CDMA beta is complete i intend on tidying up the code base and working on 'automatic' updates when settings are changed.
The source can be found on the NSPwn Github, XDA currently won't allow me to link so sorry this post is a wall of text.

Installation
Install Cydia Substrate from the Play Store
Open Substrate and grant it root permissions and follow all prompts
Install the latest beta APK from the list bellow
Open Fake Operator and configure as desired
Open Substrate (it will notify you the list of tweaks has changed)
Soft reboot the device / restart zygote
Enjoy!

Well, in my experience (at least on the CDMA side), the operator banner is normally stored somewhere in the NV folder as the only way (that I know of) to change it is by using a CDMA programming tool (such as dft or Revskill...).
HTC is funny like that
The only other thing that I can think of is that it is somewhere in the Sense framework as I do believe that this can be changed with ViperTweaks in some devices.

Found out why you may experience crashes on android <4.2
CDMA fix is complete also improved how often the launcher will be informed of changes will fix GSM in the next few hours then post a new build.
The last beta i posted is bugged i'm currently working on a 'true' fix. It doesn't seem to like my new reflection helpers :/

Thanks for this. Do you mind sharing where in the app you edited it to force enable Whatsapp Web? It seems that on the updated versions it does not appear in the menu for everyone.
It should appear for everyone. I had an issue with mine. I had no updates in the Play store, but mine was missing the web option in the menu. I had to uninstall and reinstall fro Play store and the web option appeared.
it's a cool feature, but I'd rather it was a system tray or Chrome toolbar icon, not having to have a browser tab open for it.

Hey all, I modified a facebook view extension for whatsapp. It's a smaller separate windows, so a little bit easier to use.
If you want to install:
Download whatsapp.zip from the attachment
unzip to some location
go to chrome://extensions
enable developer mode.
Drag and drop the whatsapp.crx file in the extensions screen
Click add
Ready for use!
Please don't ask for modifications, I'm not a developer.

No go on Note 4, both Att & Verizon. Does not error but does not work. We tried all Kernel options.
On my Moto x 2013 verizon it showed a sad android face. I don't speak Chinese, and I can't post outside link, neither. Sorey about that.

Still running sweet on my dagger, when rooted another application comes bundled with the tool for rooting, seems to be a speed boosting tool to kill running apps, it's all in Chinese, but I deleted it with root browserwith no ill effects. Framaroot doesn't work with Kitkat and up yet, so for me this is the only application that works for me so far, so pleased with it so far. Looked thru system files and can't find anything strange or dubious yet.
The app that comes bundled is a superuser alternative not an 'app booster'. To be honest, I haven't had the nerve to uninstall the app as I don't understand the implications as I don't speak Chinese! Can it somehow remove root on uninstallation?

Not necessarily, even with higher API, it may not work. I have 2 devices running marshmallow (LG and Samsung) and didn't work.
