[ROM][4.4][UNOFFICIAL] **Pure** AOSP KitKat! - Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE

Greetings!
I literally had no part of this bringup.
The razrqcom dev team, are responsible for this code. I am merely building off of their tree...

I just booted this, and first impressions are good! I need to give it some more time

Pre-Requisites
Unlocked bootloader
Custom Recovery (TWRP, CWM (untested), OpenRecovery)
Desire to run aftermarket Android! You do realize your warranty is beyond void now, right?!
For your convenience, there is a changelog post and a buglist post below.
TAKE A BACKUP IN RECOVERY BEFORE FLASHING
Then, you will likely need to change your recovery - I needed to flash the latest OpenRecovery in order to flash this. I am working to sort out what TWRP is missing... Try TWRPrecovery_SELinuxtest.img - seems successful.
I have not tested CWM! If you use TWRP or OR, you should be able to keep this version, no issues with older versions of Android so far
Nightlies!
For Gapps, try PA's
Enjoy!

Bugs
Keyboard backlight non-functional
Main & secondary (front) cam non-functional Fixed in 11/15
External SD doesn't mount
Cannot adjust display brightness
BT turns on, but won't transfer files (headset untested?)
Notification LED does not work
Lots untested - tell me!

Cameras (front&rear) fixed

I think there might be some APK differences - like STK... but I'm not sure, especially for AOSP.
It won't cause any issues I don't think, you can probably just change the mobile network... GSM build is done, uploading now

This is fantastic!!! Please let me know when the TWRP update is available!!!

These GAPPS should be working. Got it from dhacker's KitKat for Razr HD.

Same here. I'm also using Open Recovery 2.07.

I flashed the CDMA version using OpenRecovery no problem....
Although it was a 'special' version of OpenRecovery.
See this post

Maybe need to throw it on the computer and flash recovery thru fastboot, got the same thing again

For me (gsm build) work , but without Gapps, i try a lot diffrent apps but non of them work, so i dont have possiblity to create a google account and use this rom, but its work very good
again, nice work, now waiting for fix and new build ( ps. android is also dont see sdcard)

Man I can not get openrecovery to open up the internal sdcard without freezing up.. Is there any other recoveries I could try?

T'was the only one I tested that works... there's only three for our device that I am aware of.
Working on fixing TWRP, but it doesn't seem simple/straightforward.
Edit - well, that was odd. I need to do some more testing with the last official TWRP, but I just tested - and I was able to get this to flash... I had to wipe all the partitions manually, including system - and then UNmount system manually. The .zip was able to flash, but TWRP gave me an error that I had no OS. I ignored the error, and was able to boot. Interesting.

Alright sweet if you get it to work that'd be awesome

Confirmed on the external SD not being seen. Also front&rear cams are busted... Keyboard backlight is a nogo. Updating buglist, keep 'em coming!

Yep, check the TWRP thread. Not sure if those steps were required, but I was having issues without doing those steps...

arrrghhh, for TWRP, make sure you use SELinux enabled kernel (take the one from the latest OR for example). Oh btw., if you get time to browse through the necessary keyboard patches, can you outline them here (Skrilax = lazy (and plays with Droid MAXX atm.)).

Droid Maxx is such a great device. Great build quality with all the features of Moto X. :good:
Does it work fine in GSM network? No ussd bug or weak signal?

This is an AOSP-based build with extra contributions from many people which you can use without any type of Google applications. I found a link from some other project that can be used to restore the Google parts, which can be found below or elsewhere in the thread. I've still included the various hardware-specific code, which seems to be slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Are you coming from a full wipe? What about your sdcard? Have you cleaned the ext3/4 partition too? Try to boot without a memory card at all.
If you wiped, how did you do that? What recovery are you using? If you're using ClockworkMod, have you tried to mount and format each and every partition (except sdcard's FAT32 one)?
I'm asking because a fix is needed if there's an issue, and I never saw such a behaviour.
P.S.: Why this thread keeps erasing all posts on a two or three days basis?

That may be the problem. But I flashed through Rom manager this time and it worked. But now, my Google apps isn't working correctly. Whenever I try opening them, the screen flashes back to the home screen for some reason. (market and gmail) I also can't create s Google account. As they are no option to do it under add account for sync.

sorry for support, but as many of you know i didnt have a cdma device
u will probably find better support on cyanogenmod desire cdma subforum which is more active then xda for that device

I know I would like cm9 also. I am doing cm7 first to increase my knowledge on cyanogenmod. Once I get the hang of it I will create a cm9 port.
EDIT: Alright all I really need to do now is create a cm7 boot.img which will take a while. If someone already has the files set up I will gladly give them the new updated rom and all you will have to do is remove the original boot.img and than replace it with the one for cm7.
Nice. I'll check this out. I wasn't even aware there was a recovery for this phone yet.
I've done a search and found a few different recoveries. Which is the easiest to flash?

[ROM][OFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 10.1 Preview & Nightly Builds for Samsung Epic 4G

CyanogenMod 10.1 is a free, community built distribution of Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone.
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
This is a preview build of CM10.1 for the Samsung Epic 4G. It may cause all the things in the disclaimer to happen, or steal your girlfriend while you are busy flashing ROMs.
Please submit a patch to our Gerrit instance if you want to help out.
WARNING: If you are not already on an official CM10 or CM10.1 build, this will wipe your data due to a resizing of the mtd partitions. If you wish to go back to another ROM, you will need to ODIN back to stock. Currently, the partition sizes are the same between CM10 and CM10.1
Recommended steps before you install:
1. Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
2. Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history.
3. Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
4. Boot into CWM recovery. Make a full Backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
5. It is recommended that you wipe data before installing CM10.1 for the first time.
Additional Disclaimer:
Any bug reports coming from an Unofficial CM10.1 build, or a modified/patched Official CM10.1 build (modem patch, kernels, etc.) should be directed to the originating thread. It is hard enough to provide bug support for the official releases without having to worry about bugs that may have been introduced by outside means. Bug reports are very welcome if you can reproduce them after flashing back to an official, stock build. We do want to be able to fix all the things. Thank you.
Nightly Install Instructions:
1. Download from get.cm. Pay attention to the filenames. Don't grab a CM9 or CM10 build by mistake!
2. Reboot into recovery and install.
Nightly Changelog: http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/#epicmtd/cm10.1/next
**Google Apps are not included in these ROMs. You'll need to install those yourself if you want them. Recommended and highly suggested are the 4.2.1 gapps from goo.im. Any other versions could result in problems.
Known Issues:
- Bluetooth still needs some work. Things work (audio, tethering, file transfers) although they might not work every time. Also, there is a chance that it will get stuck "Turning bluetooth off..." when you attempt to, well, turn bluetooth off. If this happens, your best bet is to reboot your phone before the system bogs down due to logcat spam.
- Wired headset mic & buttons.

Hmm. Is this on a clean install? I seem to recall having that happen to me once a while back. I might have fixed it by clearing the Superuser data, but I'll have to think about it more if that doesn't work. It should work, because I use TB all the time on mine.
