Hello Nexus 5 Users.. I want to ask is there a TV Remote IR on Nexus 5?
Then it would possible to get a second battery on this device? Like ~3000Mah

While KitKat supports integrated system IR, the Nexus 5 does not have IR hardware; so no, you cannot use it as a standalone IR TV Remote without purchasing extra hardware.
And, as far as the second battery - the battery is not designed to be consumer 'replaceable'.

Which is kind of unfortunate.... talking about native support for IR blasters in 4.4 KitKat, and their 4.4 debut phone doesn't feature one...
I Wonder if u could plug one into the headphone jack and have it work.

Is ir blaster for tv remote control only?
Pretty much anything that uses an IR receiver to control the device. TV's, stereo's, dvd/bluray players.... hell, even digital light switches if you have some that have an IR receiver.
Buy a Logitech Revue, you can get them for $50 and they work great as IR blasters. Then you just run an app on the n5 and communicate with the revue over IP.
Hi,
I have recently bought a Nexus 5, and I am looking for a way to stream, either the whole screen, or just videos/pictures.
The TV I am using is a Samsung UE46C6700 LED-TV, it is an internet TVand it has allshare.
I have not rooted my nexus 5 and also am not planning to do so as long as I still have guarantee
Please reply, thanks!
Maybe I am just super old (likely) but I really missed having an IR blaster on my previous phone (Note 3). I've been playing around with the included Smart Controller and have successfully programmed it to control my TV and set top box (ATT Uverse). The IR blaster is working so well that I am thinking about getting the Anymote app.
It gives me a lot of convenience with my appliances at home or work.
One of the reasons I went for it cos IR is important to me and has to be part of my phone; LG G2, G3 and V10

Mind if I ask what remote control app you are using? I can make the stock one work but I would prefer more flexibility in terms of the layout.

I actually use the stock. I'm the kind of person that doesn't change a thing unless I don't get desired results.
Doesn't seem as powerful as I'd hoped. My S4 IR blaster seemed to have better range. Still useful however

I have the 128GB Chinese version. It came without the IR blaster program. I did find a version for the Mate it installed....but while installing, it said this is not for your version phone. The app comes up...but doesn't function. The eval/test versions of the IR blasters on G. Play do work...but they are funky. Anybody have a link to an alternate, but factory original apk for the IR blaster? Thank you!
Ive bought Anymote and that seems to work with t he IR Blaster.

Before u spring for anymote I'd recommend u to give Sure remote a try since I've been using it on my Honor 8 and it can control just abt anything. Plus its free so.....

Hi guys,
Now I have a new phone, I was questioning if I can install Android TV on my 'old' Nexus 6 phone.
I don't know if this is the right thread to ask, I couldn't find a better one.
Thanks for reading!

I was wondering this myself last night, whether or not there were any Android TV ROMs out there designed for the Nexus 6...Was just thinking of post-daily-driver usage I could still get out of this phone.
Nexus 9 too?
I have the same question but for the Nexus 9.
Yes. ATV is a layer over regular android. But you probably need to create a rom by yourself...
I have a Samsung gear 360 camera (the round ball). Support ended with Android 10. l'd like to know what is the cheapest phone to be able to use my camera? This will be dedicated to camera use and won't need a mobile network. Any suggestions appreciated.
