Lightflow working on Kitkat / N5 - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anybody have the lightflow app working on the N5?
I received my phone yesterday and have seen the led work but could not find any place to change settings for the LED (for which app it works, which color etc)
I installed lightflow but when I received an e-mail nothing worked ??

Lightflow works great with me here on my Nexus 5!
Running Kangkat rom and a faux kernel.
What are you lightflow settings looking like?

Seemingly working ok for me so far (stock rooted)
Also have a look here to test: http://www.folioflow.com/ff/page/website/lightflow/pageId/2349
Then you'll need to dive into the app settings to change specific app colours etc.
I myself can't get all of the listed colours working, but yet to go through all the testing to see just how many colours I can use.
The dev is very active with updates etc, so anything not working let him know.

[Q] X10 2.3.3 Official Led Notification

Hello,
I upgraded my X10 to the official 2.3.3 before I put a Cyanogen, and I loved the ability to set the color of the LED according to the different events. Clearly this possibility is still not yet a basic functionality. Do you know an application capable of doing as well as in the rom Cyanogen.
Thanks

That's a very good option, but I find Blink simpler and much more battery friendly.
Blink -> can not manage all the notifications, such as gmail or gtalk
LightFlow -> very good setup, but I left because the test mode of the LED did nothing but retesting it seems that the configuration still works at a real notification
Thanks

I stand corrected, Blink doesn't seem to work anymore in GB...
About LightFlow, apart from testing the LEDs, did you notice any other issues?
I am interested in managing the LED light for apps like Gtalk and Gmail and also missed calls.

You need to turn your display off when testing. I just tried it and it works.
Hi,
Did you guys manage to find any app for official SE LED notificataions on cyanogen ROM?

[Q] Lightflow and CM 10.1.3

Guys, does Lightflow simply not work with CM 10.1.3? I have tried every setting known to man and no LEDs come on. Even doing the "All enabled LEDs test" flashes nada. If its a known not working issue, does anyone know of a Lightflow like app that works with CM 10.1? Thanks.
Looked harder and found that notification light under system was actually not enabled. Once check, all was well.
Guess i spoke too soon. Regular corporate email works but Gmail led notifications do not work despite being set in Light flow and enabled in Gmail itself. I still get the sound just no LED. Anyone have this working on their end?
I'm using LightFlow on 10.1.3 (stable, from September 23) and it seems to work ok I have unique colors for almost every single app, so I'd definitely know if the light wasn't working. There seems to be no difference on CM 10.1.3 vs stock in my case. I'm using the paid version of LightFlow, and the only option I have enabled is "Reset Color Before Change".
Make sure you've enabled LightFlow under accessibility -- that's usually a culprit. I've also enabled the developer options in the OS itself, but I don't see how that would impact LightFlow.

My settings seem correct as everything works except Gmail LED. I have the free version of Light flow so i don't know if that is somehow limited though it worked perfectly when i was on stock.

The new gmail has alerts for specific labels and stuff (at least in pro) -- are you sure you're attached to the right label? Also, not all of the colors work, but I think if the color doesn't work it just uses the closest color. I know the following work (although some of the colors aren't the exact shade you'd expect.):
Green
Red
Blue
Purple
Cyan
White
Yellow
FYI: When you quoted me I got an E-mail + LightFlow generated sound notification & light.
^^ Yeah the labels are set up correctly. I had it working perfectly when i was stock up until a few days ago. Even a reboot of the phone has still not fixed it. I am stumped.

[Q] Looking for Color LED notification app

Guys, I have tried light flow and light manager and I can't get these apps to work properly. Do you guys know any other app that works properly on Nexus 5 to control color of notification LED?
Thanks

LEDBlinker is another one
Yup, LEDBlinker Pro gives me no issues whatsoever, whereas Light Flow and Light Manager gave me nothing but issues.
Perhaps I'm just lucky then, LightFlow has been working fine for me on OmniRom.
Did you set up the app as per the developer website instructions?
Yes, I have tried many settings but it never worked right. I'm gonna try ledblinker now... fingers crossed.

LG G3 - Lightflow LED

Has anyone got lightflow working on their device? I can't seem to get certain apps like whatsapp to display a notification.
Can anyone recommend any alternatives to lightflow?
Its working fine here. Have you ticked the checkbox in Settings-Display-Led and then very last downloaded apps? Also see in whatsapp the colour you want it to display.
Sent from G3
Got it working now thanks. Just incase anyone else runs into issues:
I had to enable the notifications access under android security options, disable lightflow under android accessability options.
Enable Notification LED under android display options. I unchecked all led's except downloaded apps.
I disabled all options under lightflow device settings.

does it allow you to display all the colors?
Yes i get the option of 18 different colors plus a custom color option
I tried Light Flow before on my Xperia and it sucked out battery. Is this the same case with the G3?
You can try using Light Manager, from my experience it much more battery friendly.
I've checked my battery stats and it doesn't even appear so I'm assuming it takes near to no battery at all?
Still No Go
Tried the instructions above but lightflow still isn't working. Anybody else have tips? BTW, using the free version if that makes a difference, which I doubt. LG G3 AT&T

I'm using lightflow paid unrooted without any issues. Been using it about a week.
I was having issues and I cleared the data and started over and now it works

I can't seem to get the stock notification sound to silent.. I tried clearing data but still does not work..do I have to turn off the other notifications also or leave them on..?
Light flow draining battery life?
Has anyone else experienced battery drain when running light flow? My battery life was fantastic and I've noticed a decline recently. I've uninstalled most recent downloaded apps except for Light Flow . I also noticed in the Battery setting that my device is staying awake quite a bit. Without rooting (I can't since it's a work phone), I don't know of an app that will tell me exactly what's waking the device, however my hunch is light flow.
Light Flow Issues
Could not get Handcent or any calendar app to light the LED. Tried light flow and light manager. Eventually went to a different SMS app and that fixed one. Found that freezing the native calendar app was causing the lack of notifications for the calendar. Now it is all working.
No noticeable battery drain.
No notification icons was showing my Verizon LG G3 despite having all LED settings turned on. Downloaded Light Flow and even though it worked, too much customizations for me. I ended up downloading Light Manager. This also worked but it was straight to the point even with customizations.

thank you thank you thank you!!!
I was having the same issue up until a few minutes ago. I had installed Light Manager and done all the proper settings and given it the permissions, made sure the LED was enabled and that apps box was checked. but the problem was that sometimes (usually only the first time) when I got a text it would blink at the set rate and others it would blink at the normal stock rate (once every 12 seconds).
The key to fixing this for me was unchecking all the boxes in the stock LED options except for the APP one. This allowed Light Manager to be the sole controller of the LED.
Hope this helps people!

I'm thinking about getting the LG G3. I'm happy to hear that it has an LED notification. I take it that it is multi-color? I would actually probably not get the phone if it didn't have the LED notification. Does anyone have any regrets about the phone?
no regrets here!

Problems with LED notification apps

Hi guys,
I hope somebody can help me.
I'm using the S6 on stock rom (Android 5.1.1.). However, none of the LED changer apps is working. Tried light flow, LED Blinker, Light Manager ...
I enabled LED lights under android settings, gave each of the apps the necessary rights, even priorities. None of it worked.
Light Flow - > Messenger app color is not changeable, all others are (but somethings they don't work either)
LED Blinker & Light Manager -> dont work at all
Thank you for any help!!!
Hey! Light Manager has been updated today. It is working for me, even though it was working in the last release too. Try to re-check your led indicator toggle on settings
I'm going to try this too I subscribed to this forum to see the problem everything works even when I test the led but every time I receive an sms, it just blinks to stock blue.

Still not working and I haven't gotten an update for the paid app today at all. It just keeps blinking stock blue at the stock rate. All the settings and all the permissions are where they are supposed to be. I have the app set up the way I want to but it's like the phone is just ignoring the app.

Thanks for the advice. However I tried light manager, but I still have the same problem as Clyff. Only some functions like recharging work.
Gmail still uses the stock color blue and ignores the app, no matter what settings/restarts etc. I did.
try to use different collors, as some collors look really different. Pink works, red works, purple works, white works.... And yeah, it is definitely working for boxer (my email client), whatsapp, facebook, charged/charging/low batt statuses, etc.
All of you with working apps are on 5.1.1? I have also not been able to get any apps working correctly since the 5.1.1 update, even with root. Seems numerous users are reporting problems with Light Manager since 5.1.1.
Yes 5.1.1.
nah, I haven't updated yet. 5.0.2 XtreStoLite deodex here.
Yeah 5.1.1 lightflow paid version.

You got LightFlow to work on 5.1.1? Mind sharing your settings - did you set anything special, like root mode or direct, etc?

It works for the most part with the screen lighting up and for basic settings but I couldn't get it to change sms mms and other aps led settings. That's the only problem I'm having. It works with low batt missed calls etc. But won't work with sms mms messenger kik etc.

Sorry to bump this up but I worked out what the problem was for all out there with issues with the LED notification app's since update to 5.1.1. On settings under sounds and nonotifications, right at the bottom there is the LED INDICATOR switch. And its default to off. Not sure if it was there before. But after switching it on and clearing cache on LED blinker pro. All my notifications work as before. Hope this helps

Glad that sorted out your problem. That is not the issue affecting most users, unfortunately. McKoo who develops Light Manager is continuing to do some research with user submitted logs. I'm still holding out hope.

What happens if you try using led blinker lite? Not sure I if I understand the issue some folks have sorry. Not being a pain. For some reason I never managers to get light manger or light flow to work on my S6 from day one on 5.0.1. And then blinker stopped working too. Which I am glad I found the remedy. I'm on stock everything not rooted.
Lightflow app developer is working on a fix.
I have started a own thread for led blinker.

Workaround für Samsung 5.1.1 Firmware Probleme ist in Arbeit!
Workaround for Samsung 5.1.1 firmware problems is in progress!
✔ Samsung 5.1.1 support added (see appsettings at the top!)
Does the LED of your Samsung device just blink blue since you updated to Android 5.1.1? Start the accessibility service (if available) AND enable the notification access (under sound and notifications or security). Furthermore you SHOULD disable the light/LED in the activated apps, do NOT disable the notification itself (e.g. in Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, Google Inbox). With these settings LED Blinker should work as usual.
I have the S6 (SM-G920F). Lightflow does work for my LED's, but for some, e.g FB Messenger, the colour doesn't flash the colour I've set it as (flashes green & I have it set to blue). I also have Light Manager Pro on here, same prob. (I know it's the least of everyone's probs here, as some hadn't got it to work at all, though hopefully they have now).
5.1.1 - the scurge of Android!!! I bricked this model the last time I tried to root it (& I've rooted a lot of phones) so am too scared to risk it again, even with a Custom ROM.
