I just got my nexus 5 and found that the cellular status bat is only 1 or 2 when I am in my condo, however my roommate's HTC ONE beside me has the strongest cellular bar status. Any nexus 5 user have the same circumstance with me?

Just received my 32 GB Nexus 5, I am using it with Lycamobile Prepaid. Everything works, After setting the APN, I don't see Network Signal Indicator (LTE or 3G or H or anything.. ), just the plain signal bars.
Is it normal, My Samsung Galaxy s3 shows H+ or 3G, but Nexus 5 doesnt show it, though data is working.
Is it normal??:cyclops::crying:

I had a LG 4X HD for a few months before I bought my Nexus 4 and now my Nexus 5.. on the 4X HD when you did a network search it would show 2 T-Mobile networks and 2 AT&T networks.. and would have in parenthesis what type of network it was GSM, umts, etc..
On nexus 4 and 5 it does not tell you what type if network it is.. is there a way to find out without having to register and pull up testing menu and see what you're connected to?
Request... for the paranoid Android team.. when you get a rom out for nexus 5 is there a way you can add this option?!

I usually see 1 bar with LTE in my house. My friend got LG g3 and his phone shows full bars for lte in my house. We're both on same carrier. Tmobile.
What could be the reason for such a discrepancy? Anything wrong with my n5?i am running stock rooted kk 4.4.4 with xposed.

every phone model is different in terms of "amount of bars" and signal strength. go to your phone dialer and your friends phone and dial *#*#4636#*#*, go to phone information and look at signal strength. Have tried different radios? Try flashing different radios and see which one works best for your location.
Hello, I have 2 questions on Droid Maxx:
1: When I reboot my phone I keep getting at the start a "This sim card is from a unknown source". This is the new AT&T Softcard mobile wallet sim.
2: With this AT&T sim I have not been able to get 5 bars of Service on AT&T 4G HSPA+ so far. I also get a little lower signal in areas a Nokia lumia 920 gets abit better signal in. I got my phone down to -59dbm and still maxes out at 4 bars.
This droid maxx is updated to the latest OTA.
Anybody can help?

Ignore the bars. There is no standard for the number of bars that are shown with a given signal strength. If you are getting -59 dBm, that's your signal. Does that match the Lumia?

1. I think it is expecting a sim card from Verizon since the Maxx is Verizon exclusive
2. -59dbm is quite good strength actually. On my Atrix HD and Maxx, -67 already considered full 5 bars.
I couldn't find anything strictly comparing the Note 7/5 signal strength and radios for Sprint users upgrading from the Note 5. What are your experiences so far? Are both phones equal? Or does the Note 5 have stronger signal capabilities than the 7, vice versa?

I find the Note 7 signal strength to be very unreliable and inconsistent. It's probably my 3rd dislike of the phone. However the useless Bluetooth functionality and mediocre battery life really bother me more..
I have no issues with Bluetooth but your other 2 issues yes I do. They can be fixed in updates though so I'm keeping it

I've been with the s6 edge since launch and I can say at home I've never seen a 3g connection only LTE. Now with the note 7 it sporadically drops LTE to 3g more than a few times a day.
I really hope its just a lemon phone. Almost wonder if I should try to get sprint to swap it out
