[Q] Google+ auto backup - General Questions and Answers

Hi everyone, ok so after the update to g+ I can not seem to find a way to look at all my auto backup photos. Like there's only a camera tab and a highlights tab. I went into albums also to see if there was an auto backup folder, but no luck. It's really annoying because I have to go to the mobile site to look at and delete any unwanted pictures to free up space, and it takes a lot longer to do than on the app like I could before. Does anyone know how to view all your auto backup pictures? Thanks!

Twitter app and Dropbox app not showing any images?

I didn't know where to go to ask the question so I decided to go here. If this is the wrong place please let me know.
I don't really remember how long it's been happening since I hadn't been using Twitter for a very long time and I only have Dropbox installed for the auto photo upload. Recently I noticed that when I try to view pictures within the DB app it says there's an error loading image and it won't let me export anything to my phone's memory.
Same thing goes for Twitter. No one's avatar picture loads and neither do any of the pictures people post that Twitter handles with its own viewer.
Everything works in-browser but not in the respective apps.
And I haven't noticed anything like that in any of my other apps, images show up just like normal on everything else.

[Q] Hangouts/gallery/Photos linked up mess

I have searched around and found nothing on XDA or anywhere else about this. With that being said, I understand the existence of Gallery and Photos. Not complaining about that.
Is there any way to keep Hangout MMS pictures from populating their own albums in the Gallery app? Here's the issue, every picture I send, creates an album with prefix Hangouts then the name of the contact. Deleting the pictures from the Gallery app deletes it from my conversation in Hangouts too leaving a white picture and the three dots at the bottom which means that the pictures can't be found. This is not only for chats, but MMS as well. Yes I could go get another Gallery App etc... But wanted to try and see if anyone has it figured out first before going down that route.
There is no option to only view albums on the device itself. Disabling the sync, disables auto-backup.
Thoughts or solutions anyone?
+1 on this, I was randomly searching around google support for this the other day but never hit paydirt. Its annoying as hell.
Edit. You inspired me to go look again. Go into the gallery app select settings and turn off sync with google account. Go into main settings/apps/gallery and delete data and cache. Reboot. Worked for me.

Thank you! While you solution does work and I have tried it, it isn't quite exactly what I am looking for. Reason being because I do sync my pictures to my google account considering I just blew through over 70GB in DropBox storage and can no longer automatically upload pictures I take. Basically, I am looking for a way to selectively pick what to display in my Gallery app(I don't want anything Picasa/Google+/Hangouts/Photos in there). Since the intro of the Photos app which is mostly tied in with G+, it shows everything online, and if they are going to keep the gallery app, then they should at least allow it to be used for offline images available on the device(Just like Play Music has, where it gives you the option to to use music on your online account or what you have on your device).
Unfortunately, the dependency of the camera app on the gallery app, makes it impossible to revert back to a previous version of the gallery.
Ah, sorry about that. Not sure how you can pull that one off, I sure didn't see mention of such when I was searching.
Try making a .nomedia file in the picassa folder where it downloads the pics. And same to every other folder you don't wanna see in your gallery. This will help you select what displays along with auto sync enabled.

It creates one for every contact I send a picture to in Hangouts.
That's going to be a lot of files to be created. I guess there is no other way. Unless I just install another gallery.

I've been using Quickpic for years, and it's very stable and easy to use.

No it's not like that. You would have to copy paste only one .nomedia in the main folder of the data file of hangouts and one in picassa.

Upload pics to G+ Album

This has been driving me crazy for the last couple hours. I transferred some files from my camera using the play memories app like i normally do with nfc. These pics normally get uploaded automatically to google plus with autobackup, but for some reason the app thinks the photos have already been backed up (btw i hate the new integrated all pics view I liked being able to tell where my pics were without having to got to a folderstab).
I have tried sharing the pics with the google plus app and the photos app but both want me to make a post that is shared. I don't want to share the photos, I just want to upload them to a private album I already have set up. I also tried uploading individually with the stock gallery app to "photos" it asks to confirm my account I click the upload button and nothing happens.
Please tell me I'm missing something and the geniuses at google who made an awesome photo sharing/manipulating/editing app didn't forget the part where some people like putting their folders into albums and sometimes you want to back up some of your pics and not all of them.
I really wish you could select a few pitcures and hit a backup button that put those pics into a backup queue that follows rules you have established ie, upload only on wifi, while plugged in, at this size.
Please help

organizing photos

Hey guys, I just recently got the Idol 5.5 and can not seem to figure out how to organize my photos into separate albums like I've been able to do on previous phones. Does anyone know how I can achieve this? Thanks in advance!
I haven't tried the gallery app, simply because I'm using "QuickPic" a universally recognised gallery application that lets you view and create albums and is greatly customisable! You might want to try that
I wish it was more compatible with Google Photo. Right now, it tells me to open Gallery to delete any photos

[BUG] Google Photo wrong backup , Amazon photos backup doesn't work

I want to advice this 2 problem, with my mi note 10, already rised into this threads:

Google photo recognize as 0.7megapixel (960x480) photo taken with main camera, and it will backup photos with such this low resolution.
Amazon photos isn't simply able to complete a backup.
Really bad situation here....
I've already triggered mi support, what we can do?
No problem with Google Photos from my Note 10.
Smae identical problem about Google photo
No problem for me, Google Photos backup 27MP and 108MP photos without any issues

Yeah, no problem here either. All photos backed up in full size.
Some of my photos are backed up but others are flagged as 0.7 Mpixels. It's not related to our phone because I found the issue on Mi9T/9T Pro forums. It seems that moving the photos from one folder and back again to the original fixes the issue.
Same problem
Some photos back up fine, but some show erroneously as 0.7Mpix and don’t back up to Google photos. Those ones also erroneously show no GPS location.
Same problem. To correct it I have to clear all the data of Google Photos app and delete low res duplicates. It is really annoying
There is a workaround it (better than clearing the google photos)
the methods are:
1. Open the built-in Photo App. Create an album(ex. G-Backup Album) inside the built-in photo App. This will create a folder with the same name as the album.
2. Select all you photos and click "Add to" button below. Then select the "G-Backup Album" album and click on "Move" option. After this, all photos will be moved to "G-Backup Album" Album.
3. Open Google Photo App, add "G-Backup Album" folder to the list of backup folders in the Setting. Then you will see that all photos are being uploaded normally and the size are shown correctly.
Makesure u dont open the Google Photo apps.. before you do this methods
Hi Wing_Zero85 in my case something similar happens to my "mi note 10".
Neither the amazon photos app nor google photos automatically upload the photos to the cloud.
I have activated all the permissions, I have tried many things and nothing, they do not automatically upload photos to the cloud.
With google photos it doesn't bother me too much, but with amazon photos it does bother me.
For amazon photos to upload photos to the cloud, I have to manually open the app, because it doesn't automatically.
For the other apps, there are no problems, whatsapp, telegram ... they work well in the background, notifications arrive well .....
But what happens with the amazon photos app is very annoying and frustrating.
