Hi there,
is there already an extension to create a toggle within the default toggels to limit background data?
All the toggle apps I found can switch 3G on/off but not the background data.
If there is no such control already - how to create one? How to access system settings like the "limit background data"?
Will I have to root my phone to create something like this or is this part of the usual api?
I'd like to place this toggle next to the other toggles that are already available - I mean the menu which opens when you swipe down with two fingers from the top of the screen. -> see attachment
Thx for any help on this topic.
Kind regards
Rion

Ok, so I've searched and I'm not finding two widgets that I would love to have. The first one would be a widget to toggle on/off the Background Data (enable background data). The second would a widget to toggle on/off Google Location Services.
Because of security and battery life, I prefer to have both of these settings off (for the most part). However, I often require them on and it's such a pain to go through each menu to turn on/off. Why don't these exist (or do they)?
It seem push notification does not work well with Mate 7... for instance... whatsapp web.. in order for it to read messages at all I need to push the power button constantly to wake it up from sleep..

I don't know if this has been solved but their is a option on mate 7 which allows you to toggle between notification push and how you handle it when screen is off.
Go into protected apps and enable it and make sure notification manager is set to allow.
i dont see notification manager in protected app.
it's in settings.
Under "privacy & security" you'll see Notification manager and Protected Apps.
From main settings i have only security option no privacy&security.Mine mate 7 is 09-european version.
I'd suggest taking a look at your settings again.
Under "Privacy & Security" section you have:
- Location Access
- Do not disturb
- Notification Manager
- Protected Apps
- Security
- Fingerprint ID
- Backup & Reset
Yes i was in restricted and notification options but there is no option to set notification manager to allow, notify or restrict options.Notification manager is not on the list of apps for which you can set this 3 options or notification manager is with some other name in the main list.

Hi!
Just bought the OnePlus 6. A couple of questions..
- Is it not possible to remove the date/weather widget on the home screen? Or atleast change the weather provider?
- When swiping down from top where you turn on and off wifi, bluetooth and so on, is it not possible to show the names of the different settings? They only show when you swipe further down.
Hope someone can clarify!

Yes you can remove weather widget from homescreen long press weather widget then remove appear on top of screen drag widget to remove.
2nd
Top area where wifi wifi & Bluetooth turn on & off is called quick settings
You can only add those tiles in quick setting which available by app developers or device manufacturer if you want to add more tiles root your device & maybe xpose & magisk module available for tiles i am not sure about that.
You can add more tiles to quick settings installing tiles from Google store. So much possibilities. You don't need xpose.

Does anyone know of a way to set up a direct toggle for Data Saver as a pull-down tile or a button on the home screen?
I like to use it as a do-not-disturb mode at work, with only WhatsApp being allowed to use mobile data in the background for my work group chat. That way I don't get notifications for emails, Instagram, Facebook, etc...
At the moment the best I've managed is a shortcut to the Connections menu through Sesame's integration with Nova Launcher, so I still have to navigate to Data Usage > Data Saver. It's a small thing to complain about but I like to streamline things that I use often and it'd be nice to have proper shortcut for Data Saver. Been trying Shortcutter as well but can't seem to find anything in the Action Tiles, System Setting Tiles or Custom Tiles sections.
Running Android 9 on Galaxy S8+
Hello,
I am Using Zebra TC72 Android 10 Devices implemented in Enterpise Mode in Microsoft Intune with Managed Homescreen.
Certain settings are Pushed by Zebra Managed Config throug the Intune interface.
Now I have the isssue, that it seems that Enterprise Mode disables the Quick Settings Menu which would otherwise be available in the Notification bar.
There was everything the user should be able to alter manually like, brightness, inverted colors etc.
I can reach part of it if I restrict the settings menu with the Zebra Tools. https://techdocs.zebra.com/oemconfig/9-1/mc/#usereducedversion
For this I would simply enable the "android.settings" shortcut in the Managed Homescreen, the Zebra Framework would care about the limited view.
But it only allows Access to Display Submenu, For Color Inversion I need the accessibility menu for example.
I canĀ“t find any way to alter the policies in a way, where I could specify which submenus get blocked.
So I need either.
1.) Find a way to access the Quick Controls / Quick Menu from the notification bar again - be it by sliding it down or setting up a shortcut to the Package Name directy?
or
2.) Find a way to limit the Submenus in android.settings I exactly need.
Any Ideas?
