any good app games or tools,music,tools,productivity apps that anyone like to share.
new to the market place and was wanting to know what you guys find useful to have. thanks friends.
Also what else is good to use like DropBox but not have a 2g limit?

Root explorer, titanium backup, Android file verifier, jota text editor, mobisle notes to-do, Miren browser are all ones I use quite frequently.

cool yeah I just go the inspire like 4 days ago. So far I'am really like this phone and just looking for some apps and I found a few so far they are games lol.. I know this is a different note but how do I set up email alerts cause I subscribe to a thread with instant email notifications but my phone does not alert me If I open up my email then it well notify me telling me I have new mail.

No need for a task killer on android, or something like juice defender. They are a waste of battery.

well Im trying out the free version of J/D and my batter since last night has stayed the same by now (6.30am) it would need charge so it seems like its working..
what about an app for remote access for desktop or either something like drop box that does not have a limit of 2gs.
Also a different note whats with other forums talking about the update about side loading what is that going to do that Side Loader Wonder Machine does not. Is the update for S/L'ing apps with a computer.
I found some cool games robo Defense, Crody, Robotek (had to load form the market place pc) and moblox and found G4 =) and cover art so when I transfer Mp3s over to the sd card this app will find the cover art

I see that they have an app called my back up i seen the video it seems like it would a good thing to do but has anyone used it? cause also I would like to back up my apps or something that works like itunes. So I take off apps that I want to keep and down the road add them back to my phone. Is there something like that?

titanium back up......

Im not rooted.. but other then using titanium backup is their something else.. but does the app2sd for like if you want to store some of the app on the sd card and it wont store as much mb's on the phones internal memory?
also is there a way to partition the SD card where you can make a fold on the phone and label it so I can move my apps or pics. im not sure if the app 2 sd pro does that and able to do a drag and drop or a copy and paste? to the folder

Does SMS Backup and Restore work well? I was just searching for something like that and there are a lot of sms backup apps available. It'd be nice to have one that works with MMS too, but as long as I can keep most of my messages I will be happy. My Backup looked promising as well. Edit: I just noticed My Backup lists MMS support, so that's probably the one I'll use.

S97ramscript ---Try it! Gave a boost from GT540 : Rolleyes:

SMS backup and restore is good because you can backup to an external SD card but for now does not support mms, it backs up way fast but a restore can take a while

What!, I got the LG Optimus 2x and i find it really epic and fast, well with a custom rom though.
And for AT&T I don't live in America ;p
I got T-mobile.

[APPS] What are your top 5 favorite cant live without apps

How is the community doing?
With so many apps available in the android market (google play) I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread with peoples top 5 cant live without favorite apps.
You can include any app with the exception of games there is a separate thread for that already, just make sure to note free or paid after the app name. Maybe we can bring apps to light that not many people dont know exist but are great!
Ill start my top 5 cant live without apps are:
1. Teamviever - free - productivity app that allows me to remotely connect to computers and help others diagnose issues
2. Work shifts free - free - app that keeps track of worked hours, pay days, etc
3. eBay - free - app that allows me to buy, sell on ebay
4. Dropbox - free - great for backing up files or just having extra storage
5. XDA premium - paid ($1.49) - keeps me connected to xda while mobile

What are some must have apps?? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also if you have some apps that you like just cause it's fun or you really like it that would be great.

Ok. For me the must have apps are:
1. Google Service Framework.
2. Input.
3. LBE Privacy Guard (If I need to control the privacy permission and data usage).
4. Link2SD.
5. WPS Office.

For me...
Titanium backup.. A must if you like to switch roms often.
TSF Shell as my launcher... In my opinion the best launcher out there. More than worth the money
Power amp player as my default music player... The best in my opinion as it has a built in equalizer where you can tweak the sounds to your liking.
Button savior... Only because I have a modded body glove case to house my anker 4440mah extended battery and I don't like pushing the buttons too much and this app allows the main buttons to be on the screen.
Zedge... Only because I switch wallpapers constantly and Zedge fits them the best to the s3 screen without cropping or resizing

My Apps
1. Action Launcher pro - personally I love the launcher, it's simple to use, and does a good job of simplifying everything. I feel as if it's still a young launcher, so there are somethings missing like being able to back up the current set up, but it's impressive, and continues to get better with every update.
2. Snapchat - instead of sending a text you can send a picture or video for a specified amount of time for a friend to view. it's fun to use.
3. Chrome Beta - it works the same as the regular Chrome browser but seems to be a little faster.
4. Google Drive - same as Dropbox, but it's connected to your gmail account. If you're an android user, which I expect you to be if you're on this link, than using google drive is a benefit.
5. Skydrive - is you use Microsoft than Skydrive is good to have. I keep all of my photos and video's on here, and keep my files on google drive, and dropbox.

If I'm not mistaken, there's some kind of data compressor implemented in it, so it should work faster than regular chrome.

Sorry but it don't know if I understand the first question. Do you want to know what those apps do?
And the 2.:
You should never use any Battery Calibration app. Afaik those apps reduce battery life if you use them too often. I've read some articles on the internet about that and it seems that the best for your (lithium ion / lithium polymer) battery is to keep the charge level between 20/50% and 80%. This means that you should avoid going below 20% and over 80% and charge the battery when its under 50%. And also NEVER under- or overcharge it. This may cause serious damage! Those things should extend your battery life to the maximum. And again: I'm no expert on this. This is just what I've read from people who say that they are experienced with such things
If you have a new battery and that's why you are asking:
The battery needs 4 or 5 complete charge cycles to get to its full capacity (5 x 0% to 100% or 10 x 50% to 100% or 25 x 40% to 60% and so on)

Skype - Self explanatory.
AlarmDroid - Alarm clock with options to set MP3s, volume and obstacles.
Autorun For Skype - Starts the Skype app on device boot.
BetterBatteryStats - Helps to find wakelocks to preserve battery.
ES File Explorer - File manager with support for LAN and cloud services
Light Flow - Allows you to control the notification LED color for different apps.
ViPER4Android - Greatly increases the volume and quality of the sound.
Other things I use frequently:
2Fuse - A game where you combine digits in rapid succession to build a score. Definitely worth a look.
Asphalt 8 - One of the best looking racing games on Android.
DraStic - Nintendo DS emulator that runs just about every game at full speed.
Dropbox - Self explanatory.
Remote for VLC - Self explanatory.
Titanium Backup - Backup all of your apps. Useful if you switch ROMs frequently.
I've got more stuff on my Nexus 7 too if you'd like.

OK thanks but I have most of those already so I guess I already got what I need lol. I have drastic on my nexus 10 so I can just download it on my nexus 5 using the same account. Titanium backup I've had ever since my first time rooting a phone. The ones I don't have are 2fuse, remote for vlc, light flow, and viper4android. I'll have to check those ones out

Bump. I still have the credit and I got 2 more dollars and 30 cents from Google opinion rewards. So now my balance is 27.30. What are fun games to get? In tempted to buy modern combat but I think I'll wait for new one since I already beat it on my old phone. What other games like it are good. Or adventure games. What about tools and stuff? I have titanium backup, anything else useful? Would I be able to use my credit to buy a other things or only apps because I'd like to get one of the official cases. Also would it expire? Once you get use to swiftkey keyboard you never go back.
