ou run an ruu its not a zip.... So get your phone into bootloaderer menu (hold your power button for a while until your phone turns off than hold volume down and power button) once in go to fastboot lock your bootloader and run the ruu

Cant run recovery

Hi i have problem with running recovery menu , its just stuck on htc logo with that red warning and at the bottom entering recovery , i need to root my phone , i unlocked bootloader. What am i doing wrong?
You can try pressing VOL UP + POWER.
Have you flashed recovery?
I cant even go into bootloader menu , i can get there through reset with ADB (command line).I unlocked bootloader and flashed recovery.twice with clockmod.

Try to flash this one, it's a special version. For some reason it's the only one that sticks when doing it the first time. After you can load into it then you can flash any other recovery you'd like.

So you boot into bootloader
fastboot flash recovery r2-modaco-recovery-clockwork-touch-ville.img
then you still can't get into recovery?
Yes i did that , it doesnt work , dont know what can be the reason of this behavior

On the phone can you see it writing the recovery? It's the little vertical bar on the top right of the phone.
How are you trying to get to recovery?
It stucks on the HTC logo with that red warning , im trying to get there through bootloader.

Red warning should be mean you're bootloader is unlocked so why you can't flash recovery I don't know.
I'd wipe the recovery on my phone and try to tinker with my phone but can't tonight. It might be time to for you to run a RUU.
Try flashing a ROM and boot.img in fastboot, the command is the following.
fastboot flash zip nameofROM.zip
Then
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Once it finishes, try booting into the ROM. If it works, try flashing the recovery again.

I can't enter to bootloader with buttons only through ADB , And about flashing ROM im afraid about bootloop ,im not having recouvery so it will brick my phone , why do i should flash boot.img and where i can find apropriate to my phone.

You won't go into a bootloop unless you don't flash the boot.img!
If you don't want to listen to my advice, you can wait there like that.

[Q] bricked volume key, not able to reboot in recovery

Hello all,
i have a htc sensation 4G S-off.
i broked its display, and while repairing it broken the volume key cable. now volume key not working.
i installed PACman rom 1.2 and wifi was not working.
as directed in that thread of PACman i installed beta version sultan kernel.
now its not booting, just getting the HTC splash screen and then again going off.
i tried it to connect via PC but no success , neither adb, nor fastboot, recognzing it connected.
you can go to bootloader the traditional way atleast?
remove battery --reinsert it -> hold power + volume down ..until you get to bootloader
then connect to PC (if conncected properly thge phone says FASTBOOT USB)
then you can atleast use fastboot
in the mean time from the zip of the PAC MAN rom you've installed ..extract the boot.img and copy it to your fastboot/adb folder
then type this command
fastboot flash boot boot.img
then reboot using this command
fastboot reboot
and next time find the proper kernel and flash it (be careful this time )

try this
adb wait-for-device
if you got the command prompt back after the above command ...you got adb
then immediately try

I know issue have been solved with help of ganeshp but to help other people there's a quite more simple way, htc sensation 4g tool, it also let u unlock bootloader in 4 clicks and flash new recovery but it also let u boot into bootloader and boot into recovery in one click: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497404

i tried 2-3 tools available for sensation before posting here, but none was able to detect the device.
i guess the issue in my case was only due to corrupt htc drivers and the broken volume key was just giving it a more confusion.
i also tried first repairing of the drivers but that doesnt helped me. then i tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and that solved out the issue.

Yeah I know about the tool
But inside it does the same way as I'm explaining
Btw the tool perfectly works when you can boot your phone fine and ofcourse it will cause troubles when you can't boot the phone fine
But that's not the case here .. This guy's case is pretty hard here.. He can't boot to bootloader manually and also he is stuck at splash screen (where there is 90% chance that adb won't work).. Luckily he fell in the 10% category

[Q] Where has recovery gone?

no access to recovery
I've got big problem. My One Mini is fine until I try to go into recovery. It refuses to go there.
I get fastboot and bootloader menus fine. It enters bootloader, but if I try to go into recovery, it just goes back to the main bootloader menu.
The problem started when I flashed CWMRecovery. Fastboot and adb recognise my phone, and accept commands, but when I try to fastboot flash recovery in it sends an error message. File not found.
I tried " fastboot boot recovery.img" but that just froze the machine .
When I try to get into recovery from rom manager or ROM toolbox pro, it takes me to the fastboot menu, not into recovery, and we're back to square one, as above.
Running android 4.3 Sense 5.5 software 2.12.401.1 Supercid 11111111
rooted and unlocked
To get the phone to work again, I have to hold power down for about 10 secs direct from fastboot/bootloader...may have to do this several times before it boots into Android.
If I turn power off from bootloader, it returns to bootloader when I power up again.
If I don't turn the phone off, once in main application, it's all OK.
Ho hum.
As I say , it works like a dream until I want to go into recovery.
Any ideas, please?
Thanks

The correct command to flash the recovery is
Code:
fastboot flash recovery your_recovery_image.img
see also: wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_fastboot_intro
Booting into recovery should be possible with
Code:
adb reboot recovery
I didnt tried CWM on the Mini, but used it on my old Marvel. I'm satisfied with TWRP for the Mini.
greetings
Yes, thanks. I know the commands should work...but that's the trouble..they don't!
I can get into the recovery menu...HBOOT /FASTBOOT / RECOVERY and so on, but selecting "RECOVERY" simply sends me back to HBOOT menu.
I can't flash anything under FASTBOOT, either. I've been doing this sort of thing for several years without trouble....until now!
So come on chaps..thinking caps on , please.

The RUU wouldn't run: it reported an unknown error, but having done so, it must have done something, as when I rebooted, I had access to recovery once again...briefly! Then it went again.
Anyway, I re locked / unlocked , locked a few times, and hey presto, it's sprung back into life!

[Q] bootloader ? fastboot mode issue

previously i unlocked rooted my device running stock 5.0
I tried to flash cynogenmod 11s and didn't get installed showing error for" MD5 check"
I tried many times and now i m not able to get into twrp recovery which i installed . Instead its showing stock recovery.
I tried OEM lock to start the process from beginning after fastboot mode showing many times for the process, its stuck in the 'waiting for device' in nexus toolkit and in device , the screen isnt moving from fastboot mode unless i manually start it. after starting manually the bootloader haven't re-locked.
I tried reinstalling my ABDdrivers in pc and did all the process again but nothing worked.
wonder whether the nand memory is fried ???
Do this.... Boot the phone in fastboot mode.... Connect to your PC and confirm with fastboot devices if the same is recognized ....
If it is.... Check the current status of the bootloader of it being unlocked or not.... If it is unlocked .... Just flash the stock image

but i m not able to relock it or get into the twrp recovery which i installed
the phone always stops in the process before getting into recovery mode. after getting in the bootloader mode, the pc shows ' waiting for device ' and the phone stops the process waiting in the bootloader.

So you can normally boot ? If you can, the nand memory is fine. Can you reflash stock bootloader using TWRP ? Can you try "adb reboot recovery" to see whether it boots to recovery or not ?
