So i have had a note2 for about 4 months no complaints at all but i picked up a new s4 active for a great price
Is there a benefit to switching to the s4 active?
What would i gain or loose ?
What would you choose an why?
I think it comes down to personal preference. But me personally, I would pick the S4 simply because of the screen. The Note 2 is just too big for me. So it depends what you prefer and what you will be using it for ultimately. But using the Note 2 for 4 months and then going to a smaller screen might be a pain for you...thats my 2 cents though.

Am currently using HTC HD2 but now I want to buy a new phone.
Am confused big time between S2 & Note. (bigger phone size is not an issue).
Am looking for good hardware with features. I will be using the phone atleast 3yrs after buying it. It should be worthy like my HD2. Am not impressed with S3 & so its not on my list.
What you guys suggest, or any other phone?

my suggestion just go for nexus, looking at your phone cycle (every 3 years or so . .) nexus will be a right choise youll get direct update from google and always the newest feature. unlocked galaxy nexus is the best choise for now.

but its still not available in india. i searched it on samsung india website but its due to come here
Out of those 2 clear choice the Note.
It's a unique device, still got great development going on. Much more real screen estate, S-Pen, just as good as the SGS2. If size is not an issue get the Note. I've played with it many times and it's lovely, a lot of guys that I have come across I've asked them how they like it and they say they love it.
Again both phones are old now, SGS2 is older so if you plan to use it for 3 years you may see no official updates in the next couple of years but devs will continue to work on them.

does note supports all HD games as well, i hv heard NFS & few games hv trouble on note graphics.
but anyways am looking forward on buying note. thnx
why not a sony?
The S and P Modells are really good.
But well the question was the S2 or Note... I would say the same as nikzDHD take the Note if the size isnt an issue.
If u can wait for the note 2 it will be the best choice :good:
I would recommend galaxy note,it has a bigger screen and it has a s pen

Note2 ???
When is it launching, haven't heard anything yet about it.
I have a friend who has a note. He said nothing compares to it. Also the screen is a huge transition from any other smartphone BUT it does fit in your pocket
Def recommend the Note because it has great specs and Samsung's UI is very consumer friendly.
Note for sure if it nit to big for you, for me is to big, like tab is..

I am upgrading my Galaxy S3, which I love and was wondering which would be a better upgrade. It's kind of hard nowadays having so many to chose from. I am mainly interested in constant flashing with new ROM's (almost weekly) just to see which one I like more and a decent battery life. Also, since my hands a not huge, I am not considering any of the bigger models.
Right now I am between those 4 (the last one is a future release and I an not sure it's worth the wait since it will be way too expensive):
1. Samsung Galaxy S4
2. Google Nexus 5
3. HTC One
4. Samsung Galaxy S5
Any suggestions or simply a pool answer are appreciated. Thanks.

Honestly, I have found the Nexus 5 to be the easiest phone I have ever unlocked and rooted. There is a lot of dedicated fellows working on ROMs for it, but even the stock ROM is amazing.
If you want great specs and barely any restrictions, go Nexus 5.

Hi,
I'm planning to upgrade my phone. I have narrowed it down to Note 3 Neo and Note 2.
Both have almost similar specifications hardware wise. I'm fixated to these two devices mainly because of the S-Pen.
The price for both the phones is almost similar.
Can anyone guide which one is better amongst the two? I assumed Note 3 Neo will be better (New, hence better ). But, after doing some research, I found about the Knox and its limitations. I'm the type of the person who will root their device the first thing straight out of box.
Which one amongst the two will be better for keeping custom roms, like CM? I think Note 2, having large user base will have more support as compared to Note 3 Neo.
Can anyone shed any light on this? I have 1-2 week to decide.
P.S: A duplicate thread is also posted in Galaxy Note 3 Neo Forum. I forgot there must be a general section.

You could refer to the device suggestion thread, which is on xda. Just make a search before you post anything. Anyways, I'm not raging at you. I'd say the note 2, because it may be a bit weaker and older, but it still has great support, since Samsung has released official kitkat upgrade for it, and its processor is a bit faster in terms of frequency.
I sagest the note 2. But saying that I just got a note 2 and just rooted it.

Hi, everyone. I'm a proud owner of a Nexus 5 and I've been buying the new Nexus every year since the Galaxy Nexus. I live in Bosnia, and I've gotten lucky over the past few years with transportation, however this year I can't get it until June so I've been trying to make my mind up between a few other phones I can get immediately. I don't think it's much of an upgrade to buy an HTC One M8, or a Galaxy S5, so I've realized that the best upgrades to my current phone are the LG G3 and Note 4. Are there any other good phones that I'm forgetting?
The Note 4 would be perfect, but I really hate Touchwiz. I'm annoyed by it in every way shape and form. My friend has an S5, which is a pretty powerful phone, and Touchwiz still manages to stutter. If I was to root and flash Cyanogenmod onto the Note 4 I'd be losing quite a bit of what makes it the Note 4, so I'm really torn about that. My budget is around $700 so the Note 4 is a bit out of my price range, but if it's really worth it I could get the extra cash.
On the other hand, I have the G3. I've used one for a couple of hours today and it stutters quite a bit. This is probably because of its software. Would I lose much if I was to root and flash Cyanogenmod on it feature wise? Also, it has a Snapdragon 801 with an Adreno 330, while both the Nexus 6 and Note 4 have a Snapdragon 805 with an Adreno 420. Is there a significant difference in performance?
Thanks to anyone that helps!

Thanks for the heads-up, I've posted there. Just made my first xda account.
Last year by mistakenly I bought Galaxy S5, which processor was not Qualcom snapdragon version. It was Samsung own Exynos variant.
That's why ustom roms like- CM/Aosp, I've not yet used or experienced..
On this point, I want to buy Nexus 6 to enjoy all facilities from Developers..
On the other hand, I heard iPhone 6 plus is a good phone. Larger display, Camera quality, Fingerprint sensor .etc haven't used yet, as I used iPhone 4s before.. And I've seen, iPhone users always feel proud themselves to have/use an iphone..
So please guys, Tell me which device should I buy.. I'm stuck here to choose which device?
Anybody will suggest please.
Nexus 6 latest update on time....lot of dev support ,large ,pure android, fast and u know ryt iPhone suck ...if u want to waste money on something with less spec d bends easily it ur wish.....and yeah u will be highly over priced for hardware ....d yeah u got to pay for lot of apps which are free in android...why care about others u are going to use phone not them lol ...get nexus 6 of note 4
sent from my GT I9505 5.0.1
If I were you, I will choose Nexus 6 because I can get android apps from play store, amazon appstore, or any others I like.
Uh, the Nexus 6 is 6" 2560x1440 493 ppi, the iPhone 6 plus is only 5.5" 1920x1080 401 ppi..... The Nexus 6 has the larger display, even though they're almost identical in size. The Nexus 6 is 2mm bigger, but has 18% more screensize than the i6 Plus.
But really, the 3GB RAM on the N6 vs the 1GB on the i6 Plus is enough of a deal breaker by itself... Even if you ignore all the other 2012 level hardware on the iPhone 6 Plus. It's a reskinned Note 2.
Go for the Nexus.

You will find tonnes of stuff on this. Well on one hand apple says beyond retina display human eye can not define anymore clarity. Its like the end of our looking capacity. Well Apple Vs NEXUS battle can never be WON. well if you want to have a cutting edge techno and more of customization by using xda then go for nexus. Well nexus is pretty powerful device. if you want a calm detail upto maximum clarity then go for apple. they got some of best camera and no log whatsoever. well lag is also not prob with nexus though. but still android as per me is far better.
