[Q] What are the two pinprick holes top-right? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

To the right of the speaker there are two pin sized holes almost invisible to the naked eye under the screen.
What are they?
Not knowing the tech I'll stab at...
Brightness sensor?
More LED's?
Front Flash?
Dam I'd have loved you to be an Ir blaster.

Smart cover

Im looking for a cover thats slim, and has a feature to awake/sleep the screen and has a magnetic closure. Any links or review of similar products would be appreciated. Thanks

Just look in the right forum its called Accessories .
jje
I do not think there is a smart cover with the ability to turn the screen on and off and the same is not enabled on device
There are tons of post in the accessories section on covers please search int hat
You cant do that with thus tablet. There is no sensor for that. The smart stay uses the camera which is all it will do.

Using a magnetic closure cover has been known to cuase problems with the screen not being able to recognize touches. I wouldn't recommend using one of those.

Please see the link of the cover i am using though the quality is not that great
Afaik the Note 10.1 has a sensor which detects if something is covering it. I think it was discovered in the testing app. I'm using a folio case from Noreve (and it is nice, btw) and I want it to auto lock the screen when I close the case. Possible?

S pen on screen

For some reason in the middle of the right of my screen the s pen doesn't seem to register unless I pressed down firmly. So I did a little scribble test and noticed while scribbling on the screen with s note a portion of my screen scribble not registering with the samepressure applied but when I pressed a bit more family only then did it register any solutions to this?

Is your note in a case that contains a magnet?
The magnet can cause problems for the digitizer

Getting the proximity sensor time feature on a different phone?

Hi all.
My house mate who is a quadriplegic would find the feature on being able to see the time just by waving over the proximity sensor really useful. He has a HTC one, is the away to get it in his phone, or is there an app that does the same thing?
Thanks

Isn't that just "Quick Glance", under Settings->Control->Air Gesture.

Oops! Misread that one! My bad.
That being said, it would've probably been more appropriate to ask in the HTC One forums....

Display issue after 4.4.4 upgrade

Hey, so I Just upgraded my moto to 4.4.4 in the UK, and now there's a sort of smudge on my screen near the center left of the display, its very obvious when i use my phone in bed, and it annoys me non stop. The smudge looks like a white fingerprint but its on the display, like a dead pixel or something which it obviously isnt. I will take a photo on my tablet so you can see it, as unsurprisingly it doesnt show up in screenshots. I would greatly prefer software alternatives over hardware ones due to the fact im in quite a rural area. Thanks, Neo

Here's the picture. Sorry for horrible quality, but at least you can distinctly the smudge.

Try to dry the humidity with an hair dryer, carefully, really. This was the suggestion I can second, in my opinion. The better photo?

I've been really busy today working, so I'll take one in the morning. Also, if its water under the screen should I put the dryer on minimum heat?

Correct, I suggest medium heat and try short, multiple time heating. Difficult to sort out without a much clearer photo as stated from smbody else.

Here's a "better" photo, as my moto has the best camera of my devices, and my tab 2 has a 3mp shooter so the quality ain't great.
EDIT: been blow drying to seemingly no gain, will try later. In the meantime, any other ideas?

Are ( or is, the spot appears to be the same of the other photo) the places of the screen responsive to touch inputs with your littlest finger?
