So, like most of everyone with an HTC Sense based phone that does MHL out I have been trying since day one to play games on my big screen with my wii remotes as controllers. I have tried every combination up to date, and I can tell you that none of them worked.
That is until last night!
I installed the newest version of the stock HTC sensation rom repackged on deodexed by HdRevolution fam
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529941
Note: You will need to flash the appropriate 3.32.401.x firmware, located Here
and I tried, just in case my Wii Controller IME app from Ryan Frawley

and it works! ****! I am going offline now to record a little video proof and put it on YouTube and linking from here. hold on....

There you go! have fun. I''m gonna go post this everywhere!
Can't wait to give this a try when I get home. Have you tried any of the other wii ime apps?
Thanks for the heads up.
I tried with one other app that actually told me that it couldn't connect to the device and didn't look like it was working. but I went right back to Wii Controller IME and started playing! Good Luck!
Oh myyyyyyyy......... I was actually hoping for something like this to give minecraft a shot.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
what about sixaxis controller ?, does this mean bluetooth was fixed ?.
I don't know about any other bluetooth devices, but you are free to try and post on the status of that in this thread.
Good Luck
doesn't seem to work, im still amazed why is working for you with wii, bluetooth must have been changed.
good for emulators unless your wii is hacked to run emulators

My Wii has emulators too, but now I finally have a tiny portable gaming machine. Especially when my kids are always on the Wii anyway

Are you booted into the new Rom and using the correct Wii controller IME app? I am waiting for my buddy's Sensation to show up over here so I can fix his too. Then I will post again with my results. Make sure you flashed the required update to the phone listed in bright red above. Then full dalvik, cache, and data wipe. Then install Rom.
sorry i was referring to sixaxis controller.
i have never tried using a wiimote and MHL at the same time (i have used both separately though).. but i never knew there was an issue with using both at the same time? is it due to the bluetooth drivers?
also i cannot imagine using MHL to game with even if it did work with external controllers because from my experience the output through MHL has always been a bit laggy so i couldnt imagine gaming with it on current technology
I just tried the Android Revolution HD 6.5.2 and InsertCoin 5.1.5 and my MHL adapter works, but on the screen it says "Input Not Supported". (I use an Acer computer LCD with 1080p HD Resolution)
Could it be ROM related issues, LCD because it just works with HDTVs? I'm confused, the MHL adapter doesn't even have instructions.
I was able to connect the WiiMote on MiiUi and combine it with MHL too, (Works well with USB/BT Joystick Center in combination with emulators of older game systems.) however I have not yet been able to consistently use it with an N64-Emulator.
I wrote more about my many many attempts here:
miuiandroid.com/community/threads/pairing-wiimote-with-htc-sensation.16406/#post-123414
but it doesn't seem that anyone is helping there, maybe someone over here has an idea about what to do.
Hello
Is it possible to use the PS3 Controller with the external USB Adapter/Extension?
I saw some people use the PS3 controller with the dock...
So I wonder if it's possible to do the same thing using the USB adapter?
And if possible... will I need specific apps?
No answer... anyone??
Yes. I have it working on my tf101 running Revolution 3.1. It is supposed to be natively support in ICS. I say this because i bought the sixaxis app before i read that little tidbit. And i tried to use it. Honestly i dont think thats what did it though but i got it working. At first with the usb dongle but then wirelessly. Very cool. I played R-Type with it.
I couldnt find a list of games that worked. I bought Riptide GP but it didnt work. I only tried the first night though.

I know that I can use it with Bluetooth with Sixaxis app BUT I have to change the master using PC!
I was asking if it's possible to change the master directly from the Transformer...
Apparently... it changes automatically if you plug it in to the keyboard dock or maybe i'm wrong?
I don't have the keyboard!
The external USB adapter doesnt work any different from the USB ports on the dock. So if it works on the dock's usb ports, it should work in the adapter too.
I don't have the keyboard dock either. I meant I used this to plug in the controller

Pretty sure you can't do that. Only with a 360 controller, and it needs to be a wired one.
Well, thanks kinda disapointing.
But I still got a old PS3 Controller, and its working with most of my games.
Expect the menus in Portal and Half Life 2. Is there a way to fix that? I cant scroll through them
/e
Just found a video showing that the xBox One Controller is compatible with "USB/BT Joystick Center "2015"". I got the App, but my tablet still dont recognize it. Is this just a Shield problem?

The Xbox one controller uses neither USB or Bluetooth, so I find that hard to believe.
Was the guy in the video actually using it on his phone/tablet?

I cant post any links, but the video is called: "How to use the XBox One Controller with Android"
The uploader is thepoke64738.
It is possible to connect it via USB OTG, but my shield just dont recognize it.

Hey guys!
Just a quick update for everyone who got the same problem.
Looks like the stock rom seriously dislikes the xBox one controller.
So everyone who is willing to flash another ROM. After flashing unoffical CM12.1 the controller is working like a charm with an OTG cable.

He connected the controller via USB OTG. You connected the Wireless receiver to the tablet via OTG.

No problem, man. Just try to not sound so aggressive next time. Mistakes happen.
So, I am currently a bit confused about this thread. Is it somehow possible on stock or not?
I recently tried the XBox One controller via cable on KitKat stock, but to no avail.
A wireless controller for PC isn't available until later this year, so I don't think this is a valid solution right now.
Xbox One controllers do not transmit data via USB ever.
The usb on the XBO controller is for charging only.
It is a wireless only controller as far as data is concerned.
You will never ever get usb to work because ghe controller does not have that capability with any system. It is an all wireless controller except fof charging.
That is why the guy who said you have to use a wireless pc reciever is correct.
Sorry there is no possible work around as the usb port doesnt physically support data transmission.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
But it is news at all. It is good to know.
Has anybody tried the wireless XBox One so far?

100% untrue. Xbox One Controller works via USB on my Windows 10 computer, no additional drivers. I don't have any wireless adapters or Bluetooth installed.
Unfortunately, this isn't the case with android. Neither USB/Wireless will work without support from Microsoft.

You will find that windows automatically installed drivers for the xbox one pad as it did for me when i plugged it in. due to being a MS device it has its own repository to aquire the driver from and as such may of updated without you even noticing
EDIT: i stand corrected as of windows 10 the driver is bundled into windows, but there is still a driver, its just windows 7 and 8.x users that need to run a driver update to download them, again this would happen when they plug in the pad anyway

That is why the guy who said you have to use a wireless pc reciever is correct. Based on the previous 3 points being totally false this is also likely not accurate
Sorry there is no possible work around as the usb port doesnt physically support data transmission. Where do you even get this information from?? My pc has NO WIRELESS capabilities and works with the Xbox One pad i bought specifically for the PC

Inaccurate statement, you are just the bearer of in correct information
so all that is really needed is for someone to figure out how to port the usb drivers that windows uses for the xbox one pad (which is fully supported over usb on my gaming pc as well) to an android version. I am very tempted to scour the net for any such development already occuring, failing that i will mayb e develop it myself with the people who are developing on the Nvidia tablet who achieved root on it in the first place. I am considering buying one of these devices myself, but i may look to see if a newer version is in the pipeline anytime soon and if there is save my money for that one. if only they had a shield tablet x1 edition like the tv box
No need to keep quoting me.
I was provided and in turn provided inaccurate information.
I apologize.
As a gamer I am really interested in this phone because of it's awesome specs but there is one important detail I would really like to know. Can you connect a gamepad, like the dualshock 4 for example, through otg on this device? I would really appreciate it if an owner ran a test to see if it's possible.
P.S. I want to run emulators on it.
Can't anyone tell me if this thing supports gamepads? Please!
If you root the phone then you should be able to use ps3/4 pads with sixaxis app

I am a input delay freak. I have enough android devices that have disappointing me when it comes to bluetooth gamepad connection. I just want a simple, lag free, wired connection. Wires, while they might be uncomfortable, they will always beat wireless when it comes reliability and speed of data transfer.
Last time I used sixaxis on my Nexus 4, it was flawless but I'll ask my cousin if he can bring his ds4 so I can test it with a USB cable and sixaxis
Hello everyone,
I am using my Shield as a second laptop and everything works so far but the bluetooth mouse which has a known glitch.
I also use a Zagg Bluetooth Keyboard that works flawlessly.
Anyone who uses Bluetooth mouses know any ROM/Kernel that fix this lag?
Thanks a lot

Which OS version you running?
I would like to know this too as I am experiencing this issue too. From what I've read this may be a problem with Android M and and was fixed in N as per this post. If this is the issue I wonder if I can rip out the BT libs from LP?

Some mice have more issues than others so yuu can try different brands to see how well they work. Alternatively you can switch to a 5ghz band on your wifi and it will instantly resolve your problems.
Get Logitech. Best input devices ever.
