App that controls other android phones. - Android Apps and Games

So i have an Xperia Z and a friend has an Xperia T. Together we watch a lot of movies on the MHL of my Z.
It would be much more comfortable for me if i didnt have to sit up and manually change/pause/forward the movie/episode.
Is there an app which i can install with which i can control my Xperia Z with my friend's Xperia T?
Bluetooth would be preffered although i do have a wi-fi in my home.

Screen Standby 2.0 B2 and aVia
I have a Notion Ink Adam and a galaxy note.
I use the adam to connect to my TV via its HDMI out and then use my note 3 to stream movies directly via wifi to the adam, which then displays it on the TV via HDMI.
for control of the tablet, i use Screen standby 2.0 beta 2 version. aVia is the video streaming and playing app.
screen standby has a remote controller feature which connects with any other device running screen standby via wifi.
you need to install both apps on both phones. set aVia as DLNA server on the phone from where u have movies stored and as DLNA renderer on the phone which is connected to TV.
i don't know how tech savvy you are, but have a look at these two and let me know if you need any more guidance on how to set them up.
cheers!

Allshare App - Stream Videos/Pictures to TV

So I noticed the other night I was able to stream a movie from my Note 10.1 to my Samsung TV. I have 2 of them, which I guess both have a built-in Allshare support. Do all new smart TV's have this and or some sort of feature? i.e. if I went to a friends and they have an LG? or would I need to get something like this?
For tv's other than samsung you need the Allshare cast hub/dongle... This allows you to use your tv set as a large screen...
Would you mind briefly sharing your method?

Connect Allsharecast hub/dongle to the TV via HDMI (turn to right channel), pair note10.1/SGS3 and see all things mobile on your TV screen....
This works on all TV's but be aware that rooted devices must have stock recovery installed to work. I've also noticed that some stock roms won't work no matter what recovery you are using....

I'm rooted with the CWM recovery and the Allshare cast works all the same (but maybe it's necessary to reset the counter with Triangle Away as I did).
Did that but wouldn't work, Back to stock recovery and it worked....
I'm on UK JB. That might make a difference. Also I found that even though I use triangle-away to reset the counter, on JB it stays on 1 every time I reboot...

Can't that be accomplished without a dongle? I swear I've seen that advertised somewhere before...

I have too, My TV is on the list of compatible devices, an LED/LCD TV from 7000 series 2011 (Samsung of course), but it just won't connect.... Might do for later TV's but after a lot of hair pulling and some absolutely useless advice from Samsung's help desk it, "You're not doing it right, that's why it won't work", I bit the bullet and got the dongle...
Works now, after some hair pulling and experimentation as I was rooted....
I even have an ES8000 model from this year and I can't get it to work. Hopefully Miracast will solve the issue if Samsung doesn't fix it on their own.

So if I want to see everithing that goes on on the tablet screen on my tv (xda for example) I need to by a dongle, but if I only want to see the movies or foto or music on the tv I don't need the dongle. I can send movies on the tv screen but I'm not able to mirror everything.

In theory, yes... In practice....?
So just an update on this on my original question. Just got a new LG 8600 Smart TV, and I guess it supports Allshare (or whatever protocol the tablet uses). I started playing a movie, hit the send to TV button and it worked on my LG. it took a little longer to load then the Samsung TV, but it worked fine.
Hi, allshare is different to allshare cast. Allshare sends your movie to the TV as data, the tv then decodes this data and actually plays the movie itself, this is done using DLNA and so any DLNA tv will work with allshare, not just sammsung TV's.
Allshare cast is a different animal altogether, its part of the miracast protocol and simply sends the picture from the phone to the TV, the decoding is done by the phone, the TV simply mirrors the video and audio. Currently the only way to get this to work is to buy the samsung allshare cast dongle. To use this simply plug it into your TV HDMI port and turn on Allshare cast option on your phone.

Hi763 Miracast: DLNA Streaming Help (Windows 7)?

I bought a Hi763 Miracast from Focalprice mostly for the DLNA feature because I want to stream wireless audio to a receiver. Setup is pretty easy and the device can switch between Miracast and DLNA mode. I am in DLNA mode and the device is connected to my home network just fine.
With the device connected to my network, when I browse "Network" via my Windows 7 PC, I see the device shows up as a media device titled HI763-8B8182-DMR however I do not get any option to connect to it. When I right click a music file, I also do not get the option to "Play To" the device like I would on other DLNA connected devices.
Thoughts on how I can stream audio to the device via Windows 7?

If you open Windows Media Player, you should be able to stream to your dongle via that. But you need to make sure that media streaming is enabled first (go to the network and sharing centre in the control panel, then select "change advanced sharing settings" from list on the left hand side. Choose whichever profile is appropriate for the wifi network you are on and then check "media streaming" (4th item down) is set to on).
The "Network" browse you refer to (presuming you mean the one under Windows Explorer) is for file shares (Samba or Windows shares) and isn't what you want for actual media sharing/streaming (it will presumably be showing up for management connection via web and/or telnet interfaces).
Once things are set up, you should be able to play your file via the stream menu that should be there. You may need to tweak a few settings in media player too though - see the link below for some guidance:

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, this Miracast device just does not show up as an available streaming option. I know that the device is connected to the network properly (I can see it and browse the device webpage).
I am basically out of ideas now as I've tried everything.

Windows Media Player. My experience with DLNA streaming is that you first have to "install" the device first. Such as with my Onkyo network receiver. I right click the device in My Network, then select the "install device" option. Then I can stream to it. But this Miracast does not have an "install device" option when I right click it in My Network.

Hmm, my experience is different - the DLNA renderer should just be visible to a suitable source and/or controller (such as Media Player), without any need to install anything, once it is connected to the same network as your laptop (the one with the Media Player, or whatever you are using as a DLNA server).
As you can see the device on the network and browse its webpage (I presume you mean by connecting directly to the device using IE or similar via the IP address it generates on the screen) then it's on the network properly. I would suspect that your laptop isn't set up correctly for streaming out to the device. There are details about that on the web, such as the link below (it also depends which version of WMP you are using, only v11 and upwards can do it) for Win7 and Win8:

There's a video on YouTube (link below) for mirroring a phone onto a TV using the device which may help if you haven't already seen it?

I just received mine this morning, and having quite a few problems with it too.
My phone won't detect it in Miracast mode, looks like 4.4 Roms have many problems with screen casting.
My tablet detect it, but it lags a lot and resolution seems to be the same as tablet screen so not 1080p at all, I want to stream Netflix on my TV, tried several HDMI adapters but it's very expensive and often break after a few days, so screen casting is way better to me.
DLNA seems to be working with the Google Play app, but I can't stream Netflix with it
So I was wondering if updating firmware will resolve some problems, or if anyone knows how to activate screen casting on 4.4 custom roms or anything else that will allow me to stream Netflix in HD on my TV lol.
PS : Hey un Clermontois ! lol, je suis de Vichy.
Have you switched on wireless display sharing in the detection?

On my 4.4 phone, when I'm in the screencast settings, I need to press the menu button and check wireless screen casting in order for the phone to detect the dongle. maybe this helps.

[Q] Any way for hdmi??

I have seen apps that can help you stream music and video files over wifi, any possible way to view moto g's screen on a bigger screen (a pc or tv), like devices that can do it simply with an hdmi cable? Any possible way? I had an app that could show my phone's display on pc but that was too slow.

Not possible, sorry.Moto G does not support MHL nor native HDMI, therefore no way to do that for the moment.
On the other hand Moto G (on 4.4.2) supports Miracast, get that, works fine (Display -> Cast Screen)

Uh, forget Chromecast, it's very limited.
Miracast works via Wi-Fi direct, without any 3rd party soft in between. But paying games over it may prove to be a pain in the bus, cos it has certain delay (anything above 100ms can be felt).
I've seen Asus advertising a Miracast dongle, where they say it can play games with no delay, cos it being dual-band bla bla bla, but I've never seen it in real, so no idea about it really.

Screen Mirroring with Bravia TV

I have the KDL -65W 950B TV and the Xperia Z3 (T-Mobile Version), I've successfully set up screen mirroring for the two but every time it turns on and connects it automatically disconnects/turns off. Any ideas how to fix this and get screen mirroring working properly?
I use my Roku Stick HDMI, to mirror/Miracast my Z3 on to my TV, works perfectly. I think it may be a problem with your TV. Some other person on this forum with a Bravia TV had a similar issue which was solved by a TV firmware update if I am not mistaken.
I have a W6 sony TV . refresh your internet content on your TV. Turn off any battery saver mode on your phone ,restart phone ,ideally make sure you have a wireless booster plug ... After that it should work fine

I had tried refreshing the Internet content on the tv before, no luck. Tomorrow night after work I'll try turning off stamina mode and giving it a shot. Appreciate the tips.
May actually try it with my Z1s too, hadn't even tried it with it yet.

Hopefully it's not my tv, it did just update the firmware earlier this month. I'm new to the smartphone tv game, so not sure on update cycles...but I'd have to guess they don't update very often?

The TV's will do an upgrade about once every 2 months , sometimes twice. Normally they are only for adding an app to the TV etc , so won't effect the phone. Some updates however are big , it took me 2 months to get my phone and TV talking ! And I'm an IT bod ... They should work with our issue, they will on the W9x android Sony tvs

Screen Mirroring HDCP with Windows 10

I've been trying to screen mirror with my computer running Windows 10, however I get this error every time I connect.
'The output device does not support HDCP. You can only mirror unprotected content of the following applications:
Xperia Home, Video, Music or Walkman, Settings.'
My computer definitely supports HDCP so I'm pinpointing it to the phone.
I've looked around and it seems it can be fixed by rooting, but currently we lose DRM if we root the XZP.
Is there any other way around this to get screen mirroring working?
Wish my Windows 10 has Screen Mirroring Lucky hopefully someone can help you.
Im sure this happened with my xperia Z2 or maybe my brothers one plus one when I tried it with one of those. Also I tried it with my XZ Premium and it didnt even connect properly. That was on a different pc though. Think it was just bad connection didnt bother trying it again. Maybe this might have better support in Oreo. Otherwise if a drm fix comes sooner than Oreo then we could maybe use root.
