What are you're temperatures on the nexus 5 ?

The Nexus5 does not heat up as much as the Nexus4 does. This is a MAJOR WIN, in my opinion.
Got that right, my n4 would get so hot sometimes that it would start to "melt"( the case would expel some fluid... Possibly oil or something my silicon case for it when I used the wireless charging.

Usually mid 20s to mid 30s including wireless charging. Doesn't seem to get very warm.

Wireless charging on my nexus 4 would get too hot, uncomfortably hot, Nexus 5 is much better using the same nexus 4 charging orb
Although mine isn't getting very hot it does seem to run warm when not doing a huge amount.
Think I need to put it through its paces to see what happens.

I haven't see it past 100°f

If you look at the temperatures of the nexus 4 and nexus 5 their temperatures are almost the same. It's just that the nexus 5 does a good job of cooling it down

When it's charging it usually heats up. It's an issue with the LG battery. I just ordered an anker battery, It's like 8 bucks.

To combat this problem I use setcpu and underclock to like 700 mhz when it's charging.

the back of my phone near the camera gets EXTREMELY hot after a couple minutes of use. is anyone else having this issue.
are there any non root apps that can measure internal temperature?
I'm not sure if system panel shows heat but I'd think it would.

Hail Cobra!
only when i watch a video.
guessing the processor chip is there!
Normal. If it actually overheats it will automatically shut off. Though I do agree it gets ungodly hot

Have you considered taking it back? That's not normal.
Same here ==; i notice this with processor intensive tasks. Like hot. Really hot. even though my case but no problems.... yet....
Such as "Wheres my water" I think that game gets my phone really hot because of the physics involved with the water etc
HTc one x overheating
Ive had same overheating issue with Galaxy s2 on ICS 4.03 and with the same games played on HTC ONE X, i've got same overheating near camera n top screen.
I dont think this issue is phone specific
I guess some games and apps are are not optimized for ICS 4.03, coz same games didn't overheat my galaxy s2 on GB 2.3.6.
Its very annoying but hope there is a fix soon.
Had some slight overheating as well. What really got me was that the top was pretty hot when i touched it, but when i touched the bottom it was nice and cool lol

IT will shut off at 60c. Ive never seen mine go over 42c even after an hour of gaming. Install "systempanel" from the market and it will tell you everything about your battery and much more.

Is that the recommended way of telling the CPU or battery temp?

My white HOX ranges from 31c to 42c, usually median at 35c but hits 42c quite frequent during multi-tasking usage(facebook, instagram, whatsapp concurrently)
I noticed HOX have some overheating issues, from the day I purchase my phone.

I use TempMonitor from the market.
I find that it's mainly the cpu which gets very hot especially when streaming video such as CatchupTV - about 55 degrees C after half an hour or so.
I have the exact same issue with both of my One XLs

My phone got to 46 c yesterday. I thought it was going to explode in my hands hah. Luckily I was near a freezer so I just tossed it in there for a little. I don't know why my phone heats up so much. I didn't notice it so much with a case but now I use it naked and its just unbelievable how hot this thing can get. My other phones have gotten hot, but I can boil water with this thing.

The only overheating I've noticed is when I have my phone charging and I'm using it at the same time. Never noticed any overheating when going in and out of service like most people

This should allow for much faster recharging but I don't seem to have heard ANYTHING about this...
When I recharged my N5 I noticed it recharged super fast if that helps? I checked to see how much it had charged and it was nearly full. Was pleasantly surprised.

So I just read this article on haptic feedback and according to it, there isn't any significant battery drain. Just wondering if its accurate or not. Here's the link :http://blog.immersion.com/2012/07/batterylife/
Not sure that anyone has measured it but obviously spinning a mechanical.motor using electricity will of course have some impact on battery
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
It's just the motor will be so tiny it's insignificant drain.
If you think about it a standard 4 inch bathroom fan uses about 1-2amp which is nothing in terms of electricity usage. So imagine how small the motor in your phone is

It's not only because of a small motor. It's more related to the low running time of the motor. I mean, just think of it, how much time does the motor stay on to drain any juice significantly? Very little. Hence it's kinda inconsequential.

It seems that they did go as far as to measure it, using June 2012 technology from the Nexus One and Nexus S.
http://www2.immersion.com/docs/haptics-power-consumption-analysis.pdf
Looks like around 1% added drain, give or take.
Simple question guys.
Cheers

I'm a pretty light user and can get 36+ hours (more realistically closer to 48+) on a charge, so I get the best of both worlds
I am using the phone a fair bit can usually get more than 12 hours use

Impact on Battery Life with Quickcharge
I have not experienced any Battery Problems jet and i'm charging it every night and my Battery is fine.
quick charger is in the box still. I use what was a Blackberry tablet charger 1.8A with fixed 6ft MicroUSB cable attached. I charge every night and after the first couple days where I was using it constantly I've made it every day without having to charge up. 15-16 hours with more to go before hitting the sack. I always charge when sleeping.

I know a lot of people are getting below average battery life but in my case I'm very impressed with the battery life. I had my first S6 which was decent in battery life for a month, then I switched to the LG G4 for a couple of weeks and now I'm back on the S6. Battery life has really impressed me granted I'm rooted and running a custom rom.
Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Running rooted stock on ATT, Google Now and location history off, location set to GPS only, I typically get 16-18 hours off charger with 3.5-4 hours screen on. Mostly Facebook/browsing/forums/g+. No gaming.
just as 1st reply...
yes
I'm getting a minimum of 5 Hours screen on time over 48 hour period and around 5.5 to 6 over 24 hours. Quickcharge just means I won't be caught short if i'm using GPS a lot.
I am still testing differences between regular Samsung charger and the quick one ... And for now I think if you charge your phone over night with the regular Samsung charger it gets a bit better ... But I still need more time to come to dome conclusive answers ...

For me it seems to as I don't think there's any problem with the battery on my S6. I always have portable battery packs with me, but I LOVE the rapid charger, it's one of my favourite features. I love getting up seeing my phone at like 15% because I forgot to charge it and thinking crap have to go to work in 20 mins, and being able to plug it in and have it be at like 50% in such a short time period. I find it good enough that it's the only charger I use and make sure I don't lose it!
