Based on the Android Open Source Project, CyanogenMod is designed to increase performance and reliability over Android-based ROMs released by vendors and carriers such as Google, T-Mobile, HTC, etc. CyanogenMod also offers a variety of features & enhancements that are not currently found in these versions of Android.

Hints
Our webpage: http://www.cyanogenmod.com/
If you have lost your IMEI, look here or follow instructions starting with "Coming from Froyo(2.2) Gingerbread(2.3) or ICS(4.0)" (Yes you need to ODIN back to stock)
If you are having GPS connection issues place you phone in direct view of sky with maps open, Data ON, GPS ON, and screen timeout to never. Let it obtain a full lock. This will download/update your AGPS data and should improve lock times.
If you are having battery issues, please let the phone settle down. This may take a couple days for data to 100% sync and SD cards to be fully searched. Reboots often fix "Android OS" battery issues.
If you would like to try out different modems: Flashable Modem Thread for MTD. Thanks to blscallions!!
Trouble
If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
2. Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
3. If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

yeah, good news for new day :good:

Awesome! I received my new N5 on Monday but I wanted to thank you again for all the dedication and hard work that you put into these builds. I've been using your builds almost exclusively since July '12 (back before GPS was even working ). It really transformed the Infuse and helped me stretch almost three years of life out of it. I'm already missing the multitudes of little tweaks that make CM just that much better than stock...

Oh man your lucky... I want the n5 so freaking bad but unfortunately the funds aren't there. Glad you enjoyed your infuse time
BTW... Build won't be perfect nor should you guys expect it to. Kitkat is pretty much a whole new beast and not all the sources I need are available yet. So bottom line... If your expecting a daily driver, don't bother flashing this.

Well... I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I seem to have hit a snag. Build finished and I believe I modified what is needed for our device, but it hangs at the second screen. The phone itself actual boots and I can hear my PC recognize my sdcard like it does when it finishes booting. I have a feeling this may be due to 1 of 2 things and I'm investigating them now. Will update status shortly.

I know Infuse is capable

U should test Roms b4 release... Or at least have couple ppl beta test for u before release.... If ur asking if it even boots, that's not very confident.. Not trying to be mean or anything just saying plz make sure it works.

Interesting ROM, giving it a go. Needed something fresh for my spare.
Just FYI, the startup wizard kept crashing on first boot, and I couldn't get past language selection page until I rebooted. Then on second boot it seemed to loop on some of the selection menus. For instance the allow google access to your location page page came up like 3 or four times after moving past the page.
Beyond that, the settings APK through me a bit, but will install and see how it fares from there.
Thanks!

Did you use the new build and format system and only use our gapps I never heard of those issues. I find that Google keeps bugging me for access which is getting annoying it only persists in slim gapps even though they are the only ones that will invert.

Was the earlier build (0618) as I grabbed it this morn., but didn't flash until an hour ago.
I did a full wipe (cache, factory reset, and dalvik), and used the DominationGapps.
I also just tried loading Titanium backup (to load the settings APK) and no root, granted I didn't flash an SU zip.
Downloading the latest zip (0619) now and will reflash and let ya know how that goes.

Yeah I uploaded 6/19 I don't how these issues raised maybe main dev did something. I have my kang of this ROM with linaro 4.8 and other tweaks to speed up this feature filled ROM . I'm running mine and haven't really looked at our default builds but I assure su worked two days ago both default build and tweaked.

reflashed 6-19 build
World of difference with the 0619 build.
No errors on initial setup, SU is in place, everything seems pretty smooth. Also saw the pie controls pop up, didn't see those previously.
Will keep playing with it, and let ya know if anything comes up.
Thanks again!

[ROM][4.2.2][UNOFFICIAL]CarbonRom

About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
Features
Simply stated, we can't really list features here. There are too many and they change too frequently, and we now support a truly insane number of devices. Chances are, if you like a feature, we have it already. Seriously.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our G+ Community: http://community.carbon-rom.com This is where we spend the bulk of our time and the best way to reach us and other community members. We update and frequent this community far more than XDA, simply due to time constraints and the convenience of G+.
5) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Thank you very much again Ravi for the Carbon rom update, it's my favorite one and I really love the features it has. Though on that note, I want to mention that devesh had already ported this rom before and his last nightly build was July 5. That's not to say that I don't appreciate your effort and time in giving this to us, quite the opposite just to let you know.

Well i turned off the "Hold power button for flashlight when screen off" and it fixed the problem but ill see about it without jbx.
Something nice i noticed about this ROM is that my phone finally connects at 21.6Mbps to the cellular network , Stock ASIA ICS, NUMA and any custom rom until now only showed 14.4Mbps connection.
few weeks ago i flashed JB Leak 3 and first time my phone connected at 21.6Mbps , and its not the network , i have seen 21Mbps on the S2 with the same bands for along time now , so its nice to see that your rom shows 21.6Mbps .
I did try PA today and it showed only 14.4Mbps..

two things .. on the status bar is showed H+ , on deveshmanish's ports of carbon or any rom it showed only H , secondly there is an app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.android.telnet&hl=en
on Stock JB and your rom it shows 21.6Mbps , on PA is shows 14.4 .

Frequent Q&A
Q: Is this Rooted?
A: Yes it is. To have the Root privileges, Go to settings>about phone>then tap build number 7 times to enable the developer settings, once enabled, under root access, choose apps and adb and make sure the SElinus is permissive. This is CM common issue atm. (Thanks to @foxxx5oh)
Q: Why doesn't this have Focal?
A: Because Focal doesn't work well on this phone so I removed it as it is usable but laggy.
Q: Trebuchet launcher randomly crashes. WHY?
A: Who knows? Install another launcher then since this is existed on galaxy s also - i9000.
Q: Where is 'fix permission' option in CWM?
A: I believe koush decided to throw away the fix permissions button in CWM because he said it was largely placebo effect and had no real purpose anymore. (Thanks to @cpkelley94)
Q: Dahell, I can't use Google Now.
A: I found that all you have to do to fix Google now is get root explorer, titanium backup or SD maid, remove system app Google search and reinstall from play store... (Thanks to @turtlepa)
Q: My battery drains so fast and I found out that WiFi kept awake and running in background even I disabled it. Why?
A: Due to new Android version permission, Google set up a new option to allow Gapps to scan for nearby networks even when WiFi is off. To disable that, go to settings>WiFi>advance>untick the scanning always available option n u r cool again .
Q: I got Bluetoothshare FC at the setup and every times I turned the Bluetooth on. What was going on?
A: It is one of Slim issue atm. Until Slim team make it to their first stable build, there will be various random bugs here and there so just live with it if u can .
More that has been answered here.

@Young_Azul Your signature is incorrect The i9000 works fine with Rom Manager as does the Vibrant. In fact, it even comes as bloat on some of their ROMs

Great work! But unfortunately I'm having trouble downloading this from Goo. It just hangs at 99% finished and eventually stops downloading. I tried downloading from my laptop and my phone, both do the same thing, so i assume this is a problem with Goo. Can anyone else download it?

Man i love Slim every time a new slim rom comes out it becomes my daily driver for at least 2 weeks which is insanely long for my flashoholic self Keep up all the great roms . Its fast clean and thats my favorite
I just came over here from the Sidekick 4G forums (we are waiting for Gingerbread and *with a prayer* maybe some more devs will pick up the device so we can have ICS..)
Anyway, I have been sifting through the many awesome ROMS for this device and I have to say, this is the best ROM I have flashed yet! I flip back and forth through many but I think I found a winner

[ROM][4.3][UNOFFICIAL]CarbonRom

I did manage to get it to boot after a fresh install on system 3 but since wifi wasn't working, I rebooted the phone. Unfortunately, everytime I go to system 3, it's stuck at the black screen.
Haven't heard from any of the other guys who have installed it, so I'm not sure if that's just a problem with me or someone else is having it too.
Appreciate your help and concern. Back to MoKee for now.

Known Strangeness with Kitkat:
Apps saved to your sdcard will have the links disabled with a reboot, please move them to your phone for the time being.
1st boot will not have vibration, after you reboot it will come back.
Softkey lights may flash - this is a notification alert... Voicemail, messages, etc. Low battery will also cause it.
Google audio feedback (when Google talks to you) is broken at the moment. All other audio works though. == fixed in 2nd edition
Art is Broken .. Causes a no boot situation. Make a nand if you attempt it. *You've been warned* == Fixed in newer builds

I don't have this room but I have been using the KitKat launcher for quite a while now. It seems the Google sound issue is only with the English (US). The way I solved this problem is to:
1: Long press on the Screen
2: Go to Settings
3. Voice
4. Language
5. Select English
6. English (Canada).
So i flashed this rom last night and i was getting a weird battery percentage, now i cant acces my internal memory. basically i cant flash a different rom unless i odin to stock. THANKS . . . .

WOW, be happy anyone is even updating this phone at all, u say thanks in CAPS like its the devs fault, U flashed this rom knowing full well what the possible outcomes can be, dont blame anyone but urself,if u dont like the work stay on stock, but dont ever discredit a dev for the hard work and time they put into giving u a kitkat rom on a phone that was never meant to go past 4.1, so next time instead of being an AS* about it, git a little feedback that will help, dont just be sarcastic, this dude doesnt get paid to make sure YOUR phone works perfect, matter of fact he doesnt get paid at all for this, so be thankful, or stay on stock...4.4 is still very early in the game, there are going to be issues so stay away if u cant deal with it...

Your brain is damaged. Nothing about the ROM not mounting your SD will affect your recovery. Even if that's the case you take the implied risk of flashing custom firmware that may break your phone. Upgrade to the new iOS and go back to the sandbox little one
Sent from my skyrocket running something better than yours! BOOM!
What is an Alpha release?
An alpha release is one that is working, but may include many bugs. You take the risk of flashing even known good Roms, and your phone locking up/soft bricking/hard bricking. It's a risk we all take. I'm always the first one to flash a rom, and test it. Then I let others try it out. If it doesn't work out, please provide a log, that way I can help others and prevent any more problems. As it's been said on many roms, no log, it didn't happen. Or if you can't get/provide a log, please be as specific as possible. Saying weird battery, no internal memory doesn't tell me anything. Which Gapps package you used, did you check MD5sum before flashing, anything specific that you installed before it stopped working correctly is much appreciated.
Thanks,
~Kiltnar
EDIT: That said, I do this for fun. Let's try to have fun while we're here.
EDIT2: Manually cherry-picked the commit to fix battery issues. -Thank xplodwild - he was the original committer. Expect a 2nd edition Alpha in a day or two to get it closer to CM-11 status.
