Cricket users - HTC One SV

How many cricket users we got here? Picked a couple up on a deep discount. Just gauging user base.

there are a few on android forums. one of them said
'i just rooted my OneSV and have been looking around for something cool to do with it.."
not a whole lot of, if any, development for them at all. that I have seen, anyways.

A cricket user
JMZ I am a xda member and cricket user. I would love some more kernel development for this phone. I am really missing being able to duplicate my device screen on my bigscreen tv via an MHL adapter. Any insight and all development for the htc one sv k2_plc_cl cricket version I would be happy to help with. I am not a developer persay however i am pretty knowledgable and easy to instruct. In fact you helped me achieve s-off for my version phone when it was being tested. Thanks and Hats off!!

Do you guys have 4.2 yet?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

No. We are still on 4.1.2

Well I just got 3.4 kernel booting from source. HTC hasn't released kernel source so I had to port from Boost version. I will probably release this weekend and Sense 5 port to follow.

I need a PLC_CL tester. I don't have service so I need to check if this kernel works with cricket service. Please PM me.

Cricket user. Just flashed back to default recovery to install 4.1.2 (then back to CWM) less than 5 minutes ago. Hopefully this reduces the randomly crashing apps problem I've been having.

ClockworkMod

Now that we have permanent root, is there anyway we can get a clockwork mod working on out phone?
EDIT: ClockworkMod now available...MUST BE ON WIFI TO FIND
I read on twitter they're porting the recovery images for our phones and it should be ready soon

sounds awesome. thanks for the great news
This is awesome...
Hope they get it going soon. I got ahead of the game, and had their ROM manager installed and flashed the alternate recovery (all this after permanent root).
It does not work (works great on N1 - but not on this one yet).
Do not think anything else is messed up (as when selecting recovery at hboot - it shows stock options and then an error message further down...).
I thinks as soon as Clockworkmod gets the MT4G setup and it appears in the choice of devices, it should be easy to just flash their recovery over the one that I flashed earlier.

The "alternate recovery" in ClockWorkMod is Amon Ra Recovery (arguably better). I'm such he's working for a port for all the devices that got permrooted yesterday.
kmobs has it running now. Not sure when it will be released though.
Dang they already have roms for the g2! I wonder if we'll get any love for the mt4g

Not until some devs pickup the phone. It is good that Kmobs has one cuz he may get the ball rolling but most devs (at least the ones I follow) all picked up a G2. Be patient though, I thought the MTslide was dead a few months back but there are still ROMs being released over there.
I think well be in luck with support.this phone is a whole different beast from the mt3g and hopefully much more appealing to devs, as it is consumers. Also,I think KingKlick has one and he made some great roms for the N1

To be fair, the ROM they have on the G2 forums is from the HTC Desire Z which is the exact same identical device as the G2.
Which makes me wonder if it'll be possible to load the Desire HD ROM without much porting work needing to be done given the similarities in internals.

What did he get banned for? I came from the Evo section, so all I ever saw was his kernels popping up.
They have ported over Rom Manager and their recovery to handle the GT already. I am hoping that they do so for the MT4G soon, as I do not have a working recovery right now.

Supposedly, he was taking ROMs from the other devs in the Nexus One forms, tweaking them just ever so slightly, then re-releasing them as his own creation with no credit due.
Emphasis on the supposedly.
If anyone gets their hands on a custom recovery before everyone else, I have a flashable rooted stock with bloatware removed uploading right now to Rapid Share. So, if you want to try it let me know. But be advised...IT IS UNTESTED!

That's what I heard but while reading some of their tweets it seemed like it was more due to lame drama between him and a certain team..
Either way, banned or not, he has his own website..

AT&T 2.20 Kernel Source Available

The kernel source code for the 2.20 AT&T update is finally available on htcdev. I know this doesn't change much, this is just more of a heads up for those who were waiting.

it does change a lot! thats the 4.0.4 source we were waiting for if I am not mistaken
This will help in fixing that LTE bug in CM10/AOKP JB I believe
And freeing up the extra RAM that this kernel unlocks
It's about time
Took long enough, lol. It will be nice to see development take off again!

They gave us the source. But if we mod/fix it, it won't work on our phones correct? Or did they unlock the bootloader?

those of us with Root and unlocked bootloaders can use custom kernels.

Does not matter anymore. They are using the open source HAL. Mostly all the issues with the camera are gone. Only bust mode is outstanding.
The special functionality with the chip set will be missed though...

I guess I just don't understand why they would give us the source if we can't legitimately use it. Everyone who is rooted/unlocked did it without HTC's consent. Are we supposed to find bugs (without testing?) then submit them to HTC so they can place them in the latest update? Essentially doing the work of their developers?

I really hope the devs really work on this and poop out a lot of new stuff.. the forum been kind of drury recently. When 4.0.3 was released it seemed as though every jizzed themselves twice. But I didn't see too many things available? My first android so I don't know how these things work. Is it because these devs are so badass they don't need source as much as they thought? Lol

My understanding is that by the time the previous kernel source was released, it was already outdated as roms were being built on 4.0.4 instead of 4.0.3. With this, we're up to date at least until 4.1 drops.

HTC Evo 4g and Shift Roms

Will Evo 4g roms work on Evo shift 4g? Just asking, not actually going to try. See I was guessing because the only physical difference is the keyboard, would this mean it would work. Sorry if this is a dumb question.
No, that's a completely different phone.
Take a look in the dev section for the rooms that are available.

The best thing you can do for yourself, and the safety of your device is read. Then read some more. Then when you are done read some more. Knowledge is the only thing standing between you, and a paperweight. As to what Rom is best. That is a question that has no definitive answer. There are many variables. The greatest one being the user of the device. I would suggest learning the flashing, and Nandroid processes to a " T " . It will save you a lot of time, and headaches. It will also help you find what is best suited to your needs for a daily driver Rom.
TEAM MiK
MikROMs Since 3/13/11
Also, if you find a ROM you'd like to try but the links are broken, you can post in the thread asking if someone can mirror a link. Most of the time the answer is yes.
If any1 is selling this phone or want to donate it pm me. I need it for rom building.

+1 I am like you, I just sent my M8 out today for a Java S-Off. I am thinking that modifying one of the current TWRP recoveries would be quite easy for someone with the skills. It seems almost all variants have a working recovery and since our hardware is mostly the same (minus radios) I would think that one could be modded for us but the question is, WHO can do this? I think I am going to e-mail the TWRP guys and see if we can get a recovery made for us as this device will need one anyways. Let me know if you find anything out? :good:

Custom recovery and ROMS?

Okay, so I paid the $25 forK sunshine... Which seemed to work as my phone now states s-off and unlocked. So what recovery can I use and what roms are compatible for my firmware/version? Any help is greatly appreciated guys. Thanks, I've been out of the loop for awhile. Like, since the goo manager days, lol. Below are attached pictures of my hboot and software info.
Anyone?
Twrp 2.8.3.0- great reliable custom recovery "Google twrp then device model and download the 2.8.3.0. version"
As for ROMs usually best to stick to the Verizon android development section "RKDN ROM is good one" in xda except for AOSP. I would recommend ViperOne which is in the HTC one m8 development section, they always add Verizon support and its tweaked all to hell, Usually a good beginner rom tho since you can tweak it within the ROM itself.
Words all weird lol hopefully you can read it

Yeah, I used to use viper roms all the time back in my X days... I see there's one in our Verizon development section.... Is it the same? And do I have to flash a different kernel or firmware along with it to work properly?

Yea its the same, Devs put it there since it officially supports Verizon. Just make sure your firmware is up to date and the kernel will be fine. It'll flash the correct boot.IMG for it to work unlike ARHD. I will recommend Bucks Lunar Elite kernel-always stable fast and smooth.
