Hi there!
Anyone able to get the old Google Talk (NOT Hangouts) working on their Nexus 5? I removed Hangouts and installed the old Talk APK, and it does run but it can't seem to login...

I am looking for an app so I can dial a phone number on my desktop and just pick up the call on my galaxy s... Is this possible?
I am currently running android 2.2 on the galaxy s and windows 7 on my pc
Thanks in Advance
Google Voice does this. You will need to sign up for an account here, download and setup the app, and download an the Google Voice extention for whatever browser you like best. Chrome works well for me.
Google Voice is not available in my country.
Guys,
Is it supposed to be possible to start a video chat with Google talk from the Transformer when the guys at the other hand does not have gingerbread 2.3.4, e.g. towards a HTC desire?
I don't see the option. All my contacts on Talk are either desktop (and I don't see the option either) or android pre-2.3.4
Cheers

You can only start the kind of chat inidcated by their icon. If they are on desktop have them connect to Google talk in gmail instead of the client. For some reason Google enabled it in there first.
Unfortunately pre 2.3.4 devices didn't get an updated talk that supports it.
It was recently announced that Voice+ was going to be integrated into Cyanogenmod 10.1, which would allow you to send Google Voice texts with the default system SMS app. (Link to the article.)
I'm really curious to try this because the Google Voice app has felt really buggy to me lately. I've tried searching for ROMs that have this feature, but haven't been able to find it.
Has anyone here been able to use Voice+ or any other similar service for Google Voice? If so, how can I install it? How has your experience been?
I think I've figured it out. Voice+ wasn't appearing until I installed the official Google Voice app. Please disregard.
Has anyone figured out how to install GTalk on a newer android device (e.g. Nexus 7 2013). I've tried uninstalling Hangouts and then installing GTalk, but it won't install.
I absolutely hate Hangouts with a passion; so if anyone has a way to get GTalk on a newer android please let me know (and include links to things like GTalk app or whatever please). Thanks.
Hi there, I used to own the mediapad x1 and had to send it back. This was the best phone I had ever owned but it didnt work on the tmobile network in the part of Southern Texas USA, im in. It FLEW via WIFI but it didnt get a signal until I used a friends AT&T sms card and it worked fine on their network. I also had to do a lot of tweaking to it to get google play, google sync, google calendar and contacts to work but when it did I had no problems. Also no google play. The only thing that disappointed me was that I couldnt use my google voice app on it.
What im wanting to know before I purchase the X2 and switch to AT&T, does the X2 come already with google play store, sync, calendar and contacts and can I download the google voice app to it and it will work?

Most places you buy from will preinstall the Play Store. If you want Google Contacts Sync and Calendar Sync you have to install those two seperate APK's seperately. The easiest way to get the Google Apps installed is by using the Huawei App Store, go into it and search for Google and most of the Google Apps will come up and you can install them directly from there. If you Unlock your bootloader, install TWRP and root you can then flash stock rooted B106 which I modded to include the Play Store and Contacts Sync and fixed a few other minor annoyances.

The X2 702L comes with Playstore, calendar sync, etc. stock installed. It works great on ATT for me, except texting still a hassle. The downside of the 702L is that the it's stuck at Android 5.0 (except using some explicit instructions to convert to a 703L effectively). So the trade-off is out of the box 702 or steps to root and flash a good image with the Play apps pre-installed and bloatware sunk.
