Hangouts 2.0 Contact Pictures - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I installed the Hangouts 2.0 apk the other day and it's working perfect except I am missing one person's contact picture. He has a picture in my contacts app. Anyone else run into this?

The new Hangouts 2.0 can potentially show two different pictures for a contact. One of those images is the photo you've assigned in your address book while the other is the photo the other person has selected for their Google+ profile. I've seen this on my setup when comparing two conversation threads to the same person: one SMS and the other Hangouts (Gtalk).
Long story short.. Check to see if that person has a G+ profile and if they do, I suspect they haven't chose a photo for themselves.

I had his default contact picture set to his Facebook profile picture. I switched that to his Google+ picture and now it shows up after I force stopped the app. Thanks!

SMS Popup and Facebook Contact Pictures

Hey guy,
I was just wondering if there was any way for SMS Popup to show the facebook contact pictures that are synced from the stock facebook app in the popup just like it does for the contacts with pictures from your gmail.
Thanks
That would be awesome if it could do this! I love SMS Popup because I don't need a full SMS replacement like Handcent (I think that's what it's called?). I just need a popup like SMS Popup provides but it doesn't show contact pictures that sync from Facebook which is a lot of my contact.
In the SenseUI Roms it does do this, as it links their contact profiles with their facebook.. however I don't know of a way in a stock rom to do this.

Handcent is REALLY good tho. I've used it for quite some time and not to long ago switched back to stock messaging app + sms popup and only lasted about 2 or 3 weeks tops before breaking down and installing handcent again. It's just leagues ahead of stock app and sms popup combined.
Handcent does use these pictures, fwiw.

It's not as nice, but SynxMyPix on the market will actually add Facebook pictures to your contacts, instead of linking them, so they will show up for this.

Facebook synch to contacts problem?

Hey guys,
Recently I have been experiancing some problems with the synching of contacts through Facebook to my Evo, specifically the picture aspect of it. Out of about 100 or so contacts on my phone, only about 10 actually have their up to date facebook picture as the contact icon. Everyone that I want with the picture is linked to facebook, yet their picture still doesnt show. I can see their status's and even their photo albums, but still no contact picture. Anyone know the answer?

Getting my pic in the SMS thread for ICS

In the stock sms app can you think of a way I can get my picture to show for texts I send. I have everyone else FB pic sync'd but when I click on the "no pic"in the sms thread to attempt to edit the contact and put my pic on there is just says that there is no contact to edit
thanks
ps I do have myself saved in my contacts with the picture, it just wont carry over to the sms
The way I've done it is opening the "people" app and there's a section you can put your own contact info in, when you put a picture there it shows up in SMS for your photo. It doesn't sync with Google though from what I can tell so if you wipe you have to re-add the photo again
Sent from my LG-P999
worked, thanks

[Q] Use Facebook contact photo for GMail app sender image?

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III, Stock ROM 4.1.2
With the new GMail App it displays the contact photo or a letter in the sender image, unlike a lot of people I like this feature, however I do have an issue. If I have setup the contact to merge my GMail contact with my Facebook contact and then make the Facebook photo the default, the phone shows this picture they call me, however it shows the letter icon in GMail. If I go back into the contact and change the default picture to their GMail contact photo, then both voice and GMail shows the Google contact photo.
Does anyone know how to get the dynamic changing Facebook contact image to work as the sender image in the new GMail app?
Thanks in advance

[Q] Contact Display Picture not showing up in Hangouts

In hangouts, if the user is not part of G+ and is just a regular SMS contact, they get set with the default blue person icon. I have pictures set for those contacts, but everything I do will not show the set profile picture.
Is this the way hangouts is designed? It's annoying seeing the blue person (which I assume is set by google if they dont have a g+ profile). when I had set pictures for all my contacts.
Any work arounds?
